Great market for fresh fruits and vegetables. They do also have a few storefronts offering fish and meat. We noticed one stall with fresh seafood. The market is open Friday and Saturday. It was quite busy and the offerings were plentiful.

This a classic Boston experience, though some people might find it the most "New Yorkish" of the street scenes here because there are a ton of similar markets in Manhattan. I guess some key points about Haymarket:--It can seem overwhelming, don't fret just walk through and soak it in--Don't worry that being in an expensive city the prices might be high, in fact you always find great deals due to the competition, eg, today there were 8 limes for a dollar and you always get like a basket of fresh berries for a buck, wander from vendor to vendor to compare. --Cash only--Lots of characters, some of the vendors can seem unfriendly but they're just trying to make a buck

The Haymarket is cash-only. If you're a local, you must visit the Haymarket for your produce.Location: Centrally-located near Faneuil HallValue: Incredible! Less than half the price of grocery store produce. The review: The Haymarket is a collection of vendors selling produce that are mostly grocery store overstock. They are thus able to sell these excess goods at a highly discounted rate. The vendors are awesome to talk to, and sometimes even try to make a deal, even if their prices are super low. Visiting the Haymarket is a really fun urban experience that is reminiscent of the local markets in Latin America. To be fair, it's quite a grungy ordeal, located on the street near the North End. Nevertheless, the produce is fabulous and I re-stock my fruits and veg at the Haymarket weekly. Tip: Do a lap around and find the best prices/freshest stuff. On your second round, you'll be prepared and know exactly what you'd like. Please note that they only accept cash.

We were just visiting Boston for the week and stumbled upon the weekly Haymarket on Friday. It was very cool to walk through the street with all the tents set up for the vendors. The prices are insanely cheap and we were able to get 4 oranges for $2. We would have bought more, but we were leaving the next day knew we wouldn't have a chance to eat anything more. We did snack on the oranges while walking the freedom trail that day. They sell all types of food here, from fresh fruits and veggies, to fish, to spices. It is a bit hard to be served as people are constantly yelling prices and most vendors are restocking their goods. Once you get their attention it is very quick and easy to hand over the money.

Inflation doesn't appear to be a problem at the Haymaket. majority of the produce is still priced at $1-3 per unit. The staff are really friendly and willing to help customers. If you're buying in bulk bring a wagon and go early, it's busy all day. $20 got me 16 pounds of mixed produce. unbelievable!

Well if this isn't competitive commerce at its finest!! I LOVE this market. Vendors yelling out prices, slashing prices before your very eyes and pumping out cheap produce in droves. I like to come here about once a month and just load up on veggies, fruits and fish. I typically buy enough to chow down on some great food right away and then freeze a bunch for later use. If you play your cards right, and bring a couple of coolers to fill up you will literally save hundreds of dollars compared to the supermarket. My only caution and recommendation is that you either eat it right away or get to freezing it or canning it. The produce is ripe and ready to eat immediately in most cases! Also, if you go in the afternoon the prices are even cheaper than what they begin the day as. I did not think that was even possible! The quality is the exact same they just need to unload it. Go get you some!

Great outdoor market where you can get fresh fruit, veggies, and fish. Vendors are from a variety of countries and was fun chatting with a couple and getting some good insights (like a specific fish can be bought at Asian Markets in the city all year). I recommend walking from one end to the other and checking out what there is on offer. And prices. And then shopping for what you want. Some strawberries may be $1 because of quality, others may be $3 but a better deal because you ca eat them all. Many vendors sell the same things. Bring shopping bags with you. Don't get in everyone's way with a cart though. We did buy a couple cases and they helped us by letting us go to the back of their stall instead of having to go through "traffic". You can easily get your whole weeks produce for under $30. Or under $10 if you take low quality. Like this place a lot, highly recommend.
