Ebi is the best. Great quality and prices! I love their toro and it's very reasonably priced ($7.50 mkt). We've been coming more frequently this year after having a lovely time in March for a birthday dinner. The service is always friendly and they have been super accommodating of any allergies/special requests. It's usually busy on Friday and Saturday nights so they have a wait list at the door. It's usually not too bad of a wait but they do want you to stay close by. Highly recommend!!

A hot spot for a Friday night! Took 45 minutes to seat the 5 of us, but this place was delicious. Between the 5 of us, we got edamame, assorted tempura, miso soup, Soba soup with chicken and tofu, pork soba, the house roll, salmon and tuna nigiri, spicy tuna roll and a tiger roll! Overall everything was delicious. The nigiri was delightful, with the fresh fish and great, simple, yet embodied flavor. The house roll was one of my favorites as well. Crisp tempura shrimp, with perfectly ripe avocado. Yum!! In the pork soba, the noodles were cooked and sauced to perfection, though the pork with a bit overdone. Both soba dishes were great portions! Our drinks-- an aperol spritz and lychee martini were great as well, with the martini being a standout! The ambience was nice for a Friday night, the playlist wasn't my fav, but I'm just being picky! It's not a huge spot, and prices are relatively decent for Boston area and what you are getting! Our server was quick and helpful. Overall, 4.5 stars. See you again Ebi!

Was craving sushi and my friend suggested Ebi and I am very glad she did. I don't have many "wow"/ "yummm" food moments in Boston so this was a really nice surprise. Not only was the food good, but the place is so cute! The little soy sauce dishes had crabs/bok choy painted on them and just adds a playful touch. Tempura Appetizer {4.5/5}: I like how thin the batter was and how well each item was cooked. The dipping sauce (tentsuyu?) was served warm and was a perfect addition to this dish. Wish there were more pieces, small portionAgedashi tofu {5/5}: Loved this appetizer. The broth that the perfectly soft fried tofu was sitting in was amazing, I wish I could bring a bowl of it home. It would have been nicer in my opinion to have a thicker coating of batter to soak the broth up better, but that's just because I want an excuse to drink up more of that sauce...30 piece sushi boat {4/5}: The pieces of fish were good in size in comparison to the rice. One of the white fish had a slight fishy taste (not in the best way) to me which is why I docked a star, but the other pieces were pretty good. We split this and the apps among 4 of us and we were comfortably full. Waitress was very nice and food was fresh and quickly brought out. Happy to be adding Ebi to the favorites list in Boston!

We went on a Friday night to celebrate my wife's bday and we had a blast. Drank a few Saporro beers which were COLD along with some good Sake. Then we had the fried oysters which were delicious and fried Gyosa which were good too. We then got the Sushi boat and it was also very good. Definitely a place to check out our server was fantastic as well!

I am honestly itching to come back here - the sushi was fresh, refreshing, and reasonably priced. We ordered the chicken karaage, the 5 piece sashimi, the Naruto roll, and the scorpion roll. The sashimi was fresh and the pieces were much bigger than I anticipated :) the Naruto roll is wrapped in cucumber and contains tuna, salmon, and avocado. The cucumber wrap made it so light and refreshing! The food did take a little longer than usual to come out (maybe 20 min) but it was a busy Saturday evening. I can't wait to try more of the special rolls and perhaps a cocktail!

TLDR: A $$-$$$ quality sushi restaurant in Union Square. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so you may end up waiting a bit for a table on a busy night, but they do have a very long sushi bar in you have a smaller party. The food was great and it came out fast, but the service was very slow and inattentive. We got one appetizer, three special rolls (~17 per roll) and one traditional roll. Ebi offers traditional rolls like spicy tuna or California but they don't list them on the website. What we ate:- Ebi Shumai (steamed). These dumplings came with a spicy wasabi that was so good I put it on my sushi instead of the regular wasabi! - Crazy Maki: If you like spicy tuna rolls, this is a must get!- Crispy Tuna Maki: Just a spicy tuna roll- Somerville Maki: This was repetitive to the Crazy Maki, so I wouldn't get them both. We prefered Crazy over Somerville. - Miso Salmon: This is a must get! Seems like a unique special to Ebi. Pro tip: At night you can get a parking pass from Ebi to park in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot next door. There is also a parking lot on the other side of the restaurant.

If you come here, get the chef omakase or selection of special nigiri. TO DIE FOR. the nigiri and gunkan are paired with embellishments like truffle mayo and green apple slices that will open up a new world of flavors for your taste buds. truly I was blown away. quality of the fish is fantastic and the cuts of fish are thick- they don't give you too much rice. came 7:30 on a thursday night and had to wait 35 minutes to get a seat. service was slow but the servers were kind which made it better. waited a long time to get our food which is what took it down to a 4 star. definitely will be back. love the hip and young feeling ambience inside!

A sushi place hidden in Somerville that looks pretty average in the outside, but inside it's actually pretty nice and spacious. I came here mainly to try there sushi combos, but came out just wanting to try more things making my bill high LOL- Torched Salmon Belly ($4/pc) 5/5SO YUM, FATTY, then you get slightly smokey flavor I wanted to get the Toro but it was market price so I wasn't sure what the price was for 1pc 20 PC Sushi Combo ($49) 4.8/5 This deal is pretty good if you're into nigiri you can also do just sashimi. You get 14 pcs of nigiri (of your choice) AND a special roll so we got the Miso Salmon Roll which is this crispy California roll with torched salmon on top and black truffle mayo (I love salmon). For the nigiri, we got a bunch of salmon and some yellowtail as well and the salmon was so fresh and fatty. I was savoring each piece Crazy Maki ($15) 4.5/5 I liked this roll as well! You get the crispy shrimp tempura inside with tuna on top can't go wrong Overall, I've only came here once. Idk why I haven't been back, but I think mainly it's because of how far it is from me to get some sushi. I'd come back for the combo though and though it was expensive, I think I'd get full off of a combo and another roll!

Overall not a very good experience. Couple of the staff members were drinking shots and being obnoxiously loud. It wasn't just me that noticed it, the whole restaurant was looking at them. It was so loud to the point of affecting my dining experience.Food was bland, I also had little tiny bones/rocks in my seafood soup, meaning the clams weren't properly cleaned. Would not recommend.
