Our server was fantastic. She was kind and smiling the WHOLE time, which always makes the food taste better. My friend and I were wondering if they made our *spicy* chicken noodles fresh just for us--that's how good the dish was. We wished for more.I'd like to go back for some of the regional dishes, as I cannot say that ordering General Gau or Crab Rangoon from an authentic Chinese restaurant is a fair bet. The shrimp dumplings were good, but I've had better; it only comes with 6 pieces, and for the price, I felt they could've been more generous. If you're a huge fan of General Gau, go somewhere else. Come here to expand your pallet. P.S. The scallion beef roll that the table next to us ordered was giant and looked the best I've ever seen. When I go back, I'm 100% ordering it :)

We came at 11:30 on a weekend and it was pretty empty. So the food came very quick!Nice space with big wooden tables and classic casual Chinese restaurant vibes We got the rice cakes w veggies and pan fried dumplingsI was craving rice cakes and these rly hit the spot! They were cooked to perfect soft chewy texture and the umami savory flavors were just right. I couldn't stop eating them even tho I was full The pan fried buns were enjoyable too! Not noticeably better or worse than other good places I've had. But the soup was good and the bottoms were decently crisp! Both were not too expensive and for big portionWould come back!

Wow! Who knew I would discover one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in a random part of town! Came here on a Sunday around noonish with a friend. We read good things about their soup dumplings and decided to give it a try. We were immediately seated and the staff were very friendly. We tried the pork and crab soup dumplings- so incredibly juicy with a nice savory broth. The string beans were super garlicky with a nice kick. The shanghai buns were surprisingly fluffy with a decent amount of pork. The rice cakes were chewy with flavorful pieces of beef. My friend also tried their original milk tea boba- she wished it was sweetened but I personally liked that you could taste the tea flavor strongly. The restaurant itself was super clean (and so were the bathrooms) and I liked that it was a casual place to get a quiet lunch. Also shout out to our waitress- super fast and amazing service!! She was constantly refilling our water, and despite there being qr codes on each table to order, she took everyone's order by hand and kept checking on us. When we asked for a box to take our leftovers home, she also took all our food away and boxed it up herself! Overall super super pleased to find a great restaurant so close to the green line- I will definitely be back! If you are looking for a casual place with solid chinese food, you definitely need to stop by!

Best dumplings I've in Boston! Prices are fair and service is fast. Favorites include the scallion beef roll and soup dumplings! Can't wait to come back to try more of the menu.

A quick, casual, and affordable dumpling spot in Cambridge!Having gone here several times, my go to's are the spicy crispy chicken, fried rice, and their assortment of steamed dumplings. Overall, the food is great, but I've had better in the greater Boston area. It's especially great for large groups as the portions are large. Service is usually very quick too!

Came here with a group of 4 and no wait time! We were seated immediately. Good: - Good value for the food, large portions and fast service times- Loved the beef rolls, they were crispy and if you like scallion pancakes, there was one wrapped around the meat - The mapo tofu was good, not too spicy either - Tons of variety on the menu- Relatively quiet interior so you can talk a lot Bad: - You have to speak Chinese to get the best service here Overall this place was authentic Chinese food and Chinese parents liked it, so I think that's a rare win!

Food came out very quickly! We ordered a few other items: pork soup dumplings, pork & crab soup dumplings, and beef chow fun. Everything was delicious, seasoned well, and food quality was very good! Dishes tasted fresh and our group devoured everything. Will be back :)Also a huge plus - this restaurant has decent seating. It's sometimes difficult to find a restaurant in Cambridge/Somerville that is able to seat a group and babies. It's good for groups

This place in Cambridge is truly a hidden gem! Service is quick. If there's one thing I'd recommend, it's the scallion beef pancakes. They are incredibly flavorful and unforgettable. I honestly DREAM of those pancakes - so so so so SO good!I also tried the beef chow fun and the pork buns. While I found the pork buns lacking in seasoning, the beef chow fun was decent and something I'd order again.I HAVE to return and explore more of their menu. Seeing and hearing other tables enjoy their dishes piqued my curiosity. If the other menu items are anything like the beef scallion pancakes, then SIGN ME UP!

Solid, homey Chinese food. Dumpling Xuan seems to cater to people looking for both Americanized and authentic Chinese food. Definitely more old school, with a giant menu covering the "greatest hits" of a variety of cuisines. Its decor was humble but clean, reminds me of Chinese restaurants 20-30 years ago. They have a couple of massive tables and they take reservations, so they'd be a good choice for a large party. When I first walked in, I was a bit concerned seeing multiple groups of people eating what looked like chow mein and orange chicken, but I was quickly reassured of their ability to make legit Chinese food too. You can really get it all here.I think they have one of the best soup dumplings in the Boston area, at least out of the restaurants I've tried. We also ordered Shanghai pan fried bao, lamb with cumin, sautéed string beans, and cauliflower dry pot. Every dish was hot, fresh, and tasty! The service was also really nice and efficient. Prices were slightly high but on par with the Boston area. All in all, I would definitely come back.

The restaurant is simple but clean and efficient. We ordered Hot and Sour soup, Pork and Leek dumplings, Taiwan Style dumplings, Scallion Pancake Beef rolls, and Pan Fried Pork Buns Shanghai Style. The dumplings were good but there wasn't anything about them that stood out and made me want to go back. Surprisingly what I enjoyed the most was my Hit and Sour soup. I would definitely go back and order that again. Unfortunately, the dumplings just started to all taste the same. The waitress was very nice though. I would recommend the restaurant though because it has a large selection of food on the menu. Someone else may try something that does stand out for them.
