Decent food and service in a glorified cafeteria (with full table service) -- slightly blah atmosphere but perfectly decent Chinese with a big big range of dishes. I alway have the pork XLB which are just a little too thick but perfectly decent - I usually get thr pork with dry bean curd (Rudy) and Chinese cellars which is a big order of quite go

I love that it's open late night, and is a great spot post-going out! The service is great and the food is fun to share with friends, pretty much like chinese fast food. Tried the Roast Beef with Scallion Pancake (3/5 scallion pancake was pretty doughy), Steamed Pork and Leek Dumplings (3/5 I'm pretty sure they're frozen), Pan Fried Pork Buns (2/5), Mini Juicy Buns with Pork (2/5 not super flavorful), Orange Chicken (2/5), Scallion Pancake (2/5 doughy), and Taiwan Style Pan Fried Dumplings (3/5).

Not bad Chinese food. I've gone here a couple of times for both takeout and dinning in. I recommend if you're in the area and need something simple to eat.The mini soup dumplings aren't as juicy as I wanted and the lomein was greasy. Which isn't always a bad thing it just depends on what you're in the mood for. The service is great and friendly. I think they're open for takeout for a certain time then open up later to dine in. They have a bunch of tables.

This was my first time eating inside this place, but I did order to go one time, because the food I ordered was decent and I wanted to try it again. I was seated and then ordered my food (spinach with garlic, and roast beef scallion pancake) which I enjoyed. They didn't offer any sauce for the scallion pancakes, but they did when I ordered to go. Anyway, I eat the food as it was, once it arrived. Not much of a vibe in the place- just tables but nothing special about the decor. But this is why the one star rating and why I'm never going back. When I got my check I found they'd added an 18% percent gratuity automatically!!! Who does that?? You don't just add a tip to someone's bill. In restaurants where they do that, it's written on the menu, however that's usually only for larger parties. But no! No advanced indication that the gratuity would be added automatically. When I asked why they do that, I did not get a satisfactory answer except for, "Oh yeah. I'll tell her we should have a sign." NEVER AGAIN. I have no problem tipping and I always do. But it's not right to add that to the bill without some upfront transparency. Doing that makes me feel like you're being sneaky and that you don't respect me as a customer. Never coming back. Not even for takeout.

Dumpling Palace was a spontaneous choice for late-night eats on a Thursday. Before heading over, I checked out what fellow Yelpers had to say. This spot, seemingly a college student favorite, held a solid three-star rating on Yelp so I figured I'd read the reviews. Feeling like I was armed with all the right information I decided to find out from myself if this spot was worth it. My 10:40 pm craving for a nearby, sit-down Asian food experience is what led me to Dumpling Palace, a delightful mix of your favorite takeout joint and a traditional dine-in restaurant. The wooden tables and chairs added warmth to the place, creating a casual dining atmosphere. Despite many available seats upon our arrival, it quickly filled up, and by the time we left, the restaurant was entirely full. Our server, seemingly the sole one attending tables, did turn the food around quickly, despite being spread thin.We ordered a variety of appetizers, including Beef Teriyaki, Crab Rangoon, and Fried Squid. All were delightful, especially the beautifully marinated beef teriyaki. The Crab Rangoon, though fried to golden perfection, had a filling a bit too sweet for my taste. The salt and pepper squid, while delicious, was slightly overcooked (we still enjoyed the whole order). We also opted for shrimp, lo mein, and Yang Chow Fried Rice. As I don't eat pork, they kindly customized the Yang Chow for me with just chicken and shrimp.Overall, the food was very satisfying, and I might return for a late-night dine-in, considering the better parking situation during off-peak times on the bustling Mass. Ave. I think three stars is fair overall based on this experience.

The menu items here seem to be quite hit-or-miss. The good dishes can be really delicious but if you pick the wrong dish then you are in for a bad time. I recommend their regular dumplings over their xiaolongbao.5 of us split their Szechuan-style fish, squid, and shrimp ($22.95), Taiwan-style pan fried tofu ($15.95), Singapore rice noodle ($14.95), 2 orders of their xiaolongbao/mini juicy buns with pork ($10.95), and 1 order of their pork and leek dumplings ($10.95).The Szechuan-style fish, squid, and shrimp had a decent portion of seafood that we could split between all of us. The broth was extremely salty and was much better with rice. This dish had everything I expected and nothing more-- I wasn't super blown away by the dish but thought that it was fairly decent for the price you pay.The Taiwan-style pan fried tofu was my favorite dish. The tofu was previously fried but was coated in a savory sauce so the exterior was not crispy-- the entire piece of tofu was quite soft. However, the skin on the tofu still had a nice bubbly texture that clung onto the sauce very well. The tofu itself was also very tender. I'd recommend this dish to anyone who likes tofu! The Singapore rice noodles were okay. They could have been spicier and I wouldn't have minded if they had an even stronger curry flavor. The portion is good for the amount you pay though.Like I said above, their pork and leek dumplings were significantly better than the mini juicy buns with pork. I do not recommend the mini juicy buns with pork at all. There was something off to them. They were bursting with soup as I would expect of a normal xiaolongbao, but the soup just didn't taste good, and the pork filling didn't have good flavor either. This spot isn't bad, but it also isn't mind-blowingly good. They're open late though, so if you are craving Chinese food at 1am, don't forget about this spot!

Place is clean and has several tables. Looks like they do a lot of take out as there were frequent delivery guys stopping by for pick ups. We enjoyed our dumplings and crab rangoon appetizer. Service was fast. Perfect location for a quick meal before our show at Berklee Performance Center.

Dumpling Palace was one of the first restaurants I ever visited in Boston and has become one of the first I bring visitors to when in town. I just love how warm and comforting it feels and as the years go by the staff remains the same, I love seeing their friendly faces! My go-to is the scallion pancakes and friend dumplings. Fantastic after a night out or on a cold day. While I have tried their entrees before, I like to stick to the appetizer-type items and am never disappointed with them. Overall, would certainly recommend a visit!

Ordered a Taiwanese noodle with chicken legs on the side. Was shocked to receive a plate of plain chicken (it was actually not bad...) and a bowl of noodles in water....The "soup" had absolutely no flavor and I am convinced it was just plain water. The noodles were overcooked. Horrible. The duck bun had a weird flavor, dry, and tasted old. The only decent item was the XLB and it wasn't worth it. Won't be back. Also, note an automatic 18% gratuity (there were only 2 of us) that I was asked to tip on top of.

This was the most miserable experience I've had in a restaurant. The woman working kicked us out right after signing the bill.. no wonder we were the only table occupied. Food is great but not worth experiencing such an unwelcoming environment
