Ding Ho is an institution. Sure it looks dumpy and run-down and being Asian I grew up grabbing food here when I was dirt poor because the prices are dirt cheap. Of course, over the years Ding Ho has increased its prices but it's still cheap compared to other Chinese fast-food joints in Chinatown. Honestly, not every food item here is out of this world however, you can never go wrong getting the steamed rice rolls. That is something that has always been excellent on the menu. After all these years, Ding Ho is the one place where their steamed rice roll is undeniably the best, and there are plenty of people who will agree with me on that. This is the ONLY way to enjoy this dish is it's a must to sauced up with everything, sesame paste, sriracha, sesame seeds, and m soy sauce. It needs to be swimming in all that sauce mixture and you need to mix it thoroughly to enjoy it. If not, you're doing it ALL wrong! Come get some steamed rice rolls, it's that damn good.

Ding Ho has been around for what seems like forever. It is super popular to a quick, affordable bites. Every so often, I will crave their plain rice rolls & ask for peanut butter, sriracha, and hoisin sauce. This combination hits EVERY TIME, especially when it's steaming hot! I got a small size to go (usually get a large but I was not too hungry) & it was only $4, cash only. The rest of their food is definitely on the blander side, so if there's one item on their menu I would recommend, it would have to be their rice rolls.

For $8, you can get rice/noodles with pork belly and broccoli! I think it's $2 extra for pork belly and eggs. I believe its with quail eggs, too. Finally gave it a try a couple days ago and it was really decent! I would get white rice next time, though. Ding Ho is probably under new management because they're adding a lot of new items to the menu.

I recently tried the quick take-out Chinese food spot, and it's a hidden gem for cheap eats. The braised pork belly is a standout, boasting rich flavors and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. The egg rolls are a delightful addition, crispy on the outside and filled with a tasty blend of ingredients. This place offers a satisfying and budget-friendly option for those craving delicious Chinese cuisine on the go.

The lady serving the food was kind and allowed us to get rice noodle instead of the other main options. We also asked for some broccoli, which she was more than happy to give us. If you can order in chinese, definitely do so!There is no place to sit down, there is just a counter where they serve you the food. The food was delicious The large plates are now $6 but STILL SO WORTH IT.Make sure you ask for the sriracha, peanut sauce, and soy sauce. The combination of the flavors with the rice noodles is absolutely delightful.

Does this place have the best Chinese food in the city? No. Is it romantic? No. Does it even have seating? No. However, if you want the best damned value for money in the entire city, go no further.Ding Ho operates as a simple Chinese take-out joint. Walk in, place your order, get food shoveled into a take-out box, fork over cash (yes, cash only), and figure out where to sit (Phillips Square is 2 blocks away). For $6 you can get the large lunch box. This gets you 1 grain (white rice, fried rice, fried noodles, or vermicelli) and 2 sides (soy sauce chicken and onion, curry chicken, tofu, and broccoli). The curry chicken's and tofu's sauces are a bit watery, and the broccoli is normal steamed broccoli. Go for the soy sauce onion chicken, which has more flavor. As for the second side, pretend to be healthy and get broccoli (or tofu). The take-out box is practically filled to the brim. This could easily be two meals. If you want less, you can get the small lunch box for $4, which contains 1 grain and 1 side. I don't think it's worth the value, since the small lunch box is the size of a dessert take-out box. 2 extra dollars gets you 4x the food.

Open 8-5 every day. Prefer cash but they also accept venmo! $5 for the small and $7 for the large combo (Rice/Noodles & 2 sides). Lady is super nice and portions are very generous. Recommend coming around 12-2:30.

Recommended by a friend while doing a simple, cheap lunch take out in Chinatown. Service in the small little take out joint is very quick and they specialize in combo meals: a small box with 1 side and a large box with 2 sides ($6). Both come with either a base of lo mein, Singapore rice noodles, fried rice, etc.For a flat $4, I got the small combo of Singapore rice noodles and curry chicken w/ potato and carrots. My friend got the lo mein, curry chicken, and tofu for $6. For the price, we can't complain much about the flavor, but we were surprised chicken curry was pretty well seasoned than what we expected (there was also slices of ginger in the curry, a good sign the cooking effort is there). The lady also packed my small styrofoam tray with chicken to the brim and it barely closed, so def a bang for your buck!
