As a desi, I'm always a bit skeptical of fusion places. But this place really makes it work! Had a lamb tikka bowl over brown rice with a sweet & spicy tamarind sauce. Topping it with "western" toppings like hummus and pickles was something new and different. Everything tasted fresh. The portions were large. And all for $12? I will be returning again on an empty stomach! (I should mention that I went to the Davis Sq. location - super-friendly staff.)

One of the worst cooked meals I have ever had. The chicken tikka has no flavor of tikka. Its just diced chicken with some spices. The sauce options are all South Indian though this is a North Indian inspired dish.Tikka is a classic dish, origin is debated but still not South Indian so the idea of not having raita (yogurt based dish primarly served with North Indian cuisine) but serving with Chettinadu, Mayonnaise, Pudina and etc is a crime in the world of cuisine.Read: https://www.npr.org/2022/12/23/1145119758/chicken-tikka-masala-ali-ahmed-aslam-shish-mahal#:~:text=Food-,Ali%20Ahmed%20Aslam%2C%20self%2Dproclaimed%20inventor%20of%20chicken%20tikka%20masala,a%20can%20of%20tomato%20soup.Would you like arrabiata sauce in your masala dosa or alfredo sauce with your idli? No! As much as I appreciate fusion, this is confusion.

Very underwhelming unfortunately. I wanted to like this place given it was halal but I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was bland, the chicken was oily and tasted like frozen chicken, and it was packed with raw onions to mask the flavorful of the bland food. Wouldn't come back...

Stumbled upon Boston Halal after a show at the Huntington Theater and could not believe it wasn't packed after we had such a phenomenal experience! As we were browsing the menu board, the worker in charge that evening came around the counter and was super friendly telling us about the menu and the sauces. He even let us sample the sauce options. He was so kind and patient - it was so hard to choose! We all ended up with rice bowls - I got paneer and my partner got lamb, which he said was super tender. The sexy sauce was so good. The others were awesome too, so flavorful, it made it hard to choose! The food was so good, we've been craving more ever since!

Honestly, this is one of the best and my absolute favorite restaurants ever. The manager is incredibly kind and helpful, especially if it's your first time visiting. The food is nothing short of amazing--packed with rich spices and bursting with flavor. I highly recommend their rice bowl; it's hands down the best thing I've ever tasted. Plus, everything is Halal, which is a huge bonus! The restaurant is spotless, and the overall dining experience is exceptional. I can't imagine a better option for lunch. Definitely a must-try!

The real thing. As good as any halal chicken place in New York. You can smell cumin and cardamom when you walk in the door. The portion is generous and the price is very reasonable. I would recommend you ask for the sauce bottles yourself, however, because it doesn't seem like they have anywhere near the same perception of what constitutes enough sauce as pretty much anyone who has ever eaten this product. Tip to management: take your staff on a field trip to some other halal chicken restaurants and street vendors so they actually have a frame of reference. Nonetheless five stars for delivering a product I have long requested! Kicks the shit out of Halal Guys!
