Borrachito Taqueria & Spirits

I love when I stumble onto delicious gems, such as Borrachito! A friend and I stopped in to this spot Friday night because the DJ we know was supposed to be spinning there. I had seen it before, but never stopped in and was happy to have such a delightful surprise! The music was great of course (shoutout to DJ Paul Yvng)!Borrachito has two parts of the restaurant. The first is where the kitchen is in some dining, then through the old-fashioned silver doors. There is the bar and dance floor area with tables. I ordered the bang, bang, shrimp, taco, lobster, taquitos, churros, and a mango Jarritos. There were a hibiscus margarita on the menu which is a mocktail that I didn't get to taste because they ran out. The shrimp taco was flavorful and topped with fresh herbs and only comes with one taco per serving. The lobster taquito came with two moderate size taquitos and stuffed with a lot of lobster pieces. I also ordered two churros and immediately dug into those with the dolce de Leche sauce and they were light and airy. They were so good that on the way out I ordered two more to go. Would return on another late night or simply if I have a taste for churros.

Seaport's weakness? Late night bites and overpriced drinks. When it comes to the drinks there's not much leeway but Borrachito has the other! They are open everyday except Sunday until 2am. I do not know a single place that is open that late in the seaport for food & drinks... it's usually just people standing outside of the Grand hungry and trying to hit on you. They have the speakeasy part where you will need a reservation on saturday night but if you just want tacos and no frills you can sit in the front that is chill. Unassuming taco spot with a cool speakeasy behind the fridge!Taco tower (20 tacos with four protein choices) - the top level had guac and chips along with two types of salsa.Nashville hot tinga - the chicken was flavorful but not spicy. The biggest thing was it was a bit dry.Yuzu carne asada - the carne asada was tender but I couldn't taste the yuzu.Korean pork belly - pork belly was tender and flavorful!Bang bang shrimp - my favorite! The shrimp was crispy on the outside and had the fresh seafood crunch. The sauce had a nice kick to it!

I've been to Borrachito a few times now and it always delivers. It's become one of my favorite Mexican spots in the city with great tacos - the Nashville chicken and steak are personal favorites - and excellent drinks, including tasty frozen margaritas in a range of fun flavors. The speak-easy portion of the restaurant is a great time out with friends and has the more expansive drink menu but even when that space is full you can still reliably grab some tacos, chips and margaritas in the front room. The staff are super friendly, too!

Borrachito is the spot. I come here too regularly at this point and I have never had a bad time. The speakeasy is my favorite place and the food is delicious (can't go wrong with any of the tacos and the bowls) and the drinks are fantastic. I came here once unexpectedly on a party night on a Monday and it was packed & so much fun!

Food was a little cold when served. We had the cauliflower taco, the potbelly taco, and the shrimp taco. Only the shrimp taco was good. Portions were small for the price. Churros was $4 and a sad, tiny piece, served with sad little container of chocolate to dip in. They told us we had to wait 15 minutes for them to prepare the churros so we assumed it would be ones with filling. Music was extremely loud inside.

A speakeasy in the back of the restaurant, going through a door that looks like a walk in freezer. This place is COOL. Like drinking a cocktail in here makes me feel like I'm living my best life. The clarified margarita (business class margarita) was by far the best cocktail of the group. We were able to easily be sat as a group of 5 in the afternoon on a Saturday. Paid Parking available in local parking garages, easy walking distance. Servers were very attentive and made good suggestions with ordering. If you get Marco as your server, consider yourself lucky! He's awesome! Very personable and provided excellent service! Will definitely be back next time I'm in Seaport!!

Borrachito has a really fun vibe. I love how you access it by walking through the taco shop next door (that's the only reason I actually even found out about it)! The restaurant had an interesting almost retro vibe with nice decorations, and the bar area was especially fun. The bartenders were helpful about explaining the various drinks. However, it was a bit busy because I was there during Snowport on a Friday night, so the service was a bit on the slower side.I didn't try any of the legit menu items, just a drink at the bar. I did like how they spiced up the drinks with some fun toppings. Next time I'm in the Seaport, I'd consider stopping by again!

Tacos are amazing the bone marrow birria is nothing I've had before. Fast to table. Al pastor is delicious and the pork belly is very good but it tastes like all the pork belly tacos I've had over the country

Fun spot to grab a drink and a bite. Great music, chill vibe and a pretty impressive selection of drinks. Tried the birria quesadilla that was recommended and it was delicious. We sat at the bar and service was friendly and attentive.
