This restaurant is located in Little Italy area in San Diego . Reservations are highly recommended they are always booked . When we made reservations they did require a fee incase we canceled . Walking in to this restaurant it is huge . They also have a huge rooftop that is where u want to sit at with all the views and the decor is amazing. The restrooms are funny they say some funny things on the toilet seats . Everyone was super nice and attentive. Jake and Stenson made our experience memorable. Jake was our waiter he was so sweet and attentive. Stenson made our Caesar salad table side it was so much fun and delicious. All the food was so good here . This is considered a steakhouse so we had to try the steak so good . For dessert we got a macaroon and the best part is it had a Wu-Tang Clan label on it . I loved the detail .Overall I highly recommend coming here . This was one of my favorite restaurants of my trip to San Diego. The food was 10/10 the service was also 10/10 . Loved all the vibes here on the rooftop can't wait to go back .

Born and Raised in Little Italy has a lovely atmosphere and promising menu, but our experience was marred by the service. We made an online reservation for appetizers and drinks, and our server, Alex, became noticeably standoffish when he learned we weren't having the full dinner service. There's no mention online about a requirement for a full dinner, so it would be helpful if this was clarified for future guests. We ended up ordering the tableside Caesar salad, and Chris, who prepared it, was wonderful--friendly and entertaining. Unfortunately, as we tried to pay the bill, we were told by multiple employees that we couldn't sit there without ordering dinner, which felt redundant and uncalled for since we were already trying to leave. The food and setting at Born and Raised are excellent, but the service experience left much to be desired. Hopefully, they can improve this aspect for future guests.

Came here for my birthday with my family. Got a late reservation as I waited until day of. Was able to get sat a hour early which was awesome. Parking is parking for littleItaly. I went all ordering the Wellington for two and 40 oz lobster. Lobster was amazing and the risotto was great, mushrooms were mind blowing. For $169 (market price). It was worth it and I would order it again. Beef Wellington wasn't the best I've had m. Tenderloin wasn't really warm and pastry was still a little raw and doughy on the inside, outside nice and crispy, but lacked a little on the inside. A little let down for $150. Great lively feel and love the decor. Service was where this place dropped off. I am assuming since I had a party of six and waitress already knew she was getting at least 20% she felt she didn't have to really focus on us. I saw two of the mangers just as much if not more than our waitress. They were great and helpful and quick to get me what ever I asked them for. While I asked waitress for the bottle of wine I had brought in took her 20 minutes+ for me to get it brought back to my table. The lobster is enough to get me to come back here but the service may keep me away for a while.

Oh my gosh everything we ate here was so delicious. We definitely wanted the full experience from drinks to bread and appetizers to main dishes and dessert. My friends and I loved everything about it. Key dishes were the table side Caesar salad, crudo, dirty hash browns, and the Black Forest chocolate cake. Steaks were cooked great and service was amazing. Love the vibe of the restaurant and sitting on the top level outdoor was really nice after the sun went down. One issue we had though was being seated in the corner booth right in the sun. It's summer and scorching hot and unfortunately that was not ideal. All our drinks we ordered unfortunately became too watery from our ice melting. We asked to move over a table and they couldn't accommodate.

Went here for my birthday. Was seated early before our reservation, which I appreciated. The food was good but not standout. Service was excellent. They make your salad by the table if you get that. The ambiance is a sexy vibe, great for dates or groups. I would go here for the vibes alone, and since food is pretty decent, I would also recommend a visit to anyone in the area.

Born and RaisedAtmosphere: 5Food: 3.5Service: 4.5We have been wanting to come here for so long, and maybe we hyped it up too much in our heads We came to Born and Raised for a dinner with our friend, and we started with drinks at the upstairs bar/seating area, while our downstairs table was ready. She had a sauvignon blanc, I had a Hugo spritz, and my husband had an Aperol spritz. The vibe was fun and casual, upbeat dance music, and yummy apps including the bone marrow and snails, and shrimp cocktail (my fave item, since it had a delicious cocktail sauce and capers.) The bread comes with butter, but I found the bread to be too soft and doughy, I prefer baguette textures. When our table was ready, we moved downstairs and sat in the dimmer, more elegant tables, overlooking the open kitchen concept I still love.I had the bone in ribeye, my husband had the bone in NY strip, and our friend had the filet mignon, all medium rare, and we shared the sides of mushrooms and pureed potatoes. The steaks were delicious!! However, we found the apps and sides to have too much seasoning and salt. This is a beautiful space. The service could have improved with more attention with water refills and getting our bill.Overall, I'd say it was a 4.2 rating. Would try it again, but maybe order other sides. I wanted to like this place more and I want to give it a 5 star review, maybe would like to try it again, we'll see.

If you are looking for a place to take some super cute, aesthetically pleasing photos, this is a lovely spot. I sat at the bar and enjoyed a drink. A little dessert cart came strolling by and it was so tempting and fun to see. I recommend getting the drink sidecar, the sugar rim is so delicious with the lemony cocktail.

This is a review for B&R's happy hour. We tried nearly everything on the HH menu and were quite satisfied. Our favorites were the kurobata pork skewers which were beautifully cooked and the signature hashbrowns. We wish the buns for the slider and Philly cheesesteak were toasted, and felt the beef skewers could have been better seasoned. Ambiance is lovely on B&R's beautiful rooftop and a great date spot or spot for drinks with friends.

After been a fan of BaR for many years, our most recent experience left a lot to be desired. Both of our steaks (rib eye and filet) were underseasoned and lacked the delicious crust I was raved about. The fat to meat ratio on my rib eye was just too high, and did not produce the experience I was expecting. The service was so lackluster for a fine dining experience. Our server did not come and check on our table as much I was would expected. The table side Cesar salad experience lacked pizazz. While we appreciated the macaron to celebrate a birthday, we would have loved to see what were the offerings on the dessert cart. They just presented us with the check. One positive thing were the cocktails and the portion size of the steak tartare, though I prefer the preparation from Cowboy Star. This place is pretty popular and unfortunately, is now overrated.

This spot is unbeatable every time - from their ambiance, to food/drinks, dining experience, and service! Waiters are so attentive, and it's always a nice surprise to get a table side cooking experience. While on the higher end of dining, the quality of their food justifies the price. It's the perfect place to go for any special occasion, memorable night out, or if you're just in the need for a perfectly cooked steak.
