The beef noodle soup sandwich is so good! Like a french dip sandwich but with the beef noodle soup flavor! I also really liked the hojicorn latte, it had a good flavor of both the corn and hojicha tea. Went on a Monday close to noon after their grand opening - some items were unavailable and there's a bit of a wait, but manageable for a popular place that just opened. Staff are also really nice! I've been to their San Gabriel location and I'm so happy there's one in SD now. I never make reviews but I needed to for Bopomofo - can't wait to try more of their items!

If you're going to spend $8 on boba this place is definitely worth your penny. There are so many boba shops in Convoy now, I haven't really had the urge to venture out and try new ones because they all kind of taste the same and aren't so unique. I decided to come to BoPo because someone told me the matcha here was incredible. That's a pretty big claim to have so I went to check it out for myself. The mixed matcha lattes on the menu piqued my interest and I ended up trying the one with the guava juice. It was incredibly delicious and refreshing! I've never had a boba drink like this before. It was milky yet fruity. There are definitely times where I want a milky drink or just fruit but this allows me to taste the best of both worlds. There was a lot of hype behind this place and I can see it. I am proud to say I found a new boba shop that I can add to my rotation!

We came on a weekday in the afternoon and the wait was not too bad (20 minutes). The employees were nice and it seems like a good place to study as most seats were full with students. The drinks are aesthetically pleasing! We got the Lychee Berry Bliss, which tastes great but it loses flavor pretty quick, and the Orange Wang, which tastes like creamy orange juice. The food was amazing and I would definitely come back to try the others. We got the spicy fried chicken sandwich which was tasty and the spicy popcorn chicken which was perfect with the thai chili aioli that it comes with and it could taste even better with more spice!

So excited Bopomofo is here in SD. Came here on a Monday afternoon waited for 15 minutes in line and 15 minutes for our food and drink. The Strawberry Corn Milk was good but just wish there was more strawberry taste to it. The Heritage Lu Rou Rice Bowl was very tasty. The inside was super clean and modern. The staff was amazing, super friendly and very knowledgeable. Can't wait to come back and try something different off their menu.

Looking forward to returning, but next time I will be placing a mobile order! Visited on a Saturday afternoon around 2:30 pm. I took off 1 star for the wait.We started waiting in line outside a bit past the glass windows of the restaurant. We waited approximately 35-40 min to place our order, which was disappointing because the line didn't look too long. The line was moving very slowly. I'm not sure if they were having an off day or if it had to do with a trainer being up front, but I felt that the line could have went a lot quicker. After placing an order for 4 regular sized drinks, we waiting another 15-20 min. We ordered a honey roasted oolong milk tea with boba, a hojicha-corn with boba, strawberry basil lemonade and strawberry corn latte (?). All of the drinks were delicious and the quality of the tea is phenomenal. I enjoyed their boba, but personally prefer my boba to be a bit more firm and chewy. Their food menu looks interested and I will be trying food next time! There isn't a lot of seating inside, especially for waiting, but there are tables outside. I saw 2 dogs inside while during our visit, I am assuming they are dog friendly.

It's good to see this place really popping off cause their food and drinks are so good! We came around noon on a Saturday and it took us 25 minutes to order and 25 minutes to get our order. We ordered the honey walnut shrimp burger combo with tater tots, popcorn chicken, lychee berry bliss, and orange wang. They're on the pricier side but everything was delicious and worth the wait! Definitely would recommend this place. Food: the honey walnut shrimp burger was delicious, the shrimp patty was thick, tender and crispy. The popcorn chicken was tender and flavorful and went well with the garlic aioli dipping sauce. The portions were huge and I shared with my sister and we were both stuffed!Drinks: the lychee berry bliss was just perfection! The right amount of sweetness and it was so refreshing. I love the mix of the lychee and strawberry! The orange wang was amazing too. It was perfectly sweet, creamy, and not too too sour/citrusy at all!

So excited to have Bopomofo Cafe in SD! I have always wanted to go to the other locations but whenever I was in LA the locations were never within range. For my very first Bopomofo experience and at the SD location I am super satisfied! The location is kept clean and the staff are so attentive behind the counter. Since we ordered food around 11:45am they forewarned that the food could take up to 20 minutes to prepare. We were okay with the wait, but the wait didn't end up being that long. I appreciate their approximation though since it prepared us for the worst and it was a happy surprise that the food was ready earlier than expected. Limited seating indoors but we were able to snag a seat eventually before our food was ready. My husband and I shared the food. Hainan Chicken Tacos were delicious. Perfect portions for 3 tacos. Corn tortillas are not my favorite in general, but with the Hainan Chicken, toppings and sauces it all paired together beautifully. Mapo Tots also delicious. Mapo tots had spice but it was the perfect amount for flavor. The amount of ground pork, tofu, and cheese on the tots was all well balanced and delicious. These two dishes split between two people was enough to feel full!Assam milk tea with boba was the perfect classic. I could tell the tea was fresh rather than powder based like other boba shops. The BaLa Matcha was a wonderful blend where the matcha and the guava did not over power the other. I also ordered a Mint Matcha Latte. Mint Matcha is my number one favorite combination. I was very excited to see it on the menu! I was a little sad that it had to be a sipper and could not be in a cold cup with boba added. I subbed the oat milk for their regular milk as my personal preference. Maybe one day they can adjust and offer Mint Matcha in a normal sized drink, and the day they do I'd probably swing be Bopomofo daily. For a sipper it was still delicious!

I visited this location on a Sunday afternoon and got my order to go. This location is conveniently located next to the Costco business center and in the same plaza as Target. Parking is easy with the huge lot. Despite this being a new location, it was so busy already! There is ample seating and even counters to hover around. I've visited the LA locations for drinks before but wanted to specifically try the food this time. I ordered ahead so I basically had no wait (~10-15 from the time I ordered, and the time prediction was accurate!). Similar to the LA locations, the staff is super friendly and helpful. Bopomofo is one of the places you show up with decision paralysis but the staff are patient with you. Food service is not easy so it's amazing how consistently kind the service is, even across different locations.I ordered 1 regular (non-spicy) taiwanese fried chicken sandwich, 1 spicy, and 1 hoji-corn latte. Both sandwiches were still hot by the time I got home to try them; both were also pleasantly enjoyed by my asian parents! The pineapple bun is probably more similar to a melon pan than a pineapple bun, but same concept of a sweet bread with crust. The chicken was not dry and stayed in the sandwich pretty well. There The thickness of the chicken was true to tawainese fried chicken slab. Both non-spicy and spicy version were delicious, obviously there were more flavors with the spicy one. There was an appropriate amount of basil aoili that brought a creamy texture - as if there was avocado in the sandwich. The hoji-corn latte was refreshing paired with the spicy sandwich, and tasted quite healthy and earthy at 50% sweet. The corn flavor is really subtle but adds another source of subtle sweetness. I enjoyed this drink, though I think most others would prefer this drink at a higher sweetness level. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!

First off, being from the 626/SGV and having been deprived of quality boba/tea for the last 6 years living in SD, I can't even explain how excited I am that Bopomofo has made their way down here from my hometown. So of course we came on grand opening day. Phil and all the people from YouTube that I grew up watching were all there and not going to lie, I was fangirling a little seeing them in person. Phil wasn't just supervising the event, he was working it and personally served us our drinks. I'm just so freaking proud of how far Phil and Bopomofo have come and despite all the successes, how humble they continue to be and determined to serve quality products. This is a business I'll gladly support!Okay now onto the food and drinks. I'll admit I've never tried the food at their SG location before, only drinks. Our party got the matcha latte, strawberry corn, and taro sweet milk, along with popcorn chicken and mapo tots. Quality is honestly how I'd describe it all. You can just tell from the first sip that so much care and thought were put into the ingredients and putting them together. The popcorn chicken took me back to simpler days in high school spent at the local boba shop in the best ways and the mapo tots were so reminiscent of my childhood favorite with a twist. The only complaint I have is now I HAVE to come back to try ALL the other items on the menu lol Lastly, whoever designed the place definitely had amazing taste. The vibes are just immaculate. Think upscale cafe without all the snobbery. I wish this place was around when I was still in college! All in all, welcome to San Diego, Bopomofo. We are beyond lucky to have you!
