Booby's

I pass by this place frequently and have asked people about this place, they always say to try the steak sandwich. Well I did and I think what it lacks in flavors, it makes up for with it tenderness. I thought it was grossly overpriced for what it is, $20.99, it comes with two sides that you can choose from, I got fries and cole slaw (fries were basic and cole slaw was ok). You have to buy a drink (one refill), if anything they should include that. The place is clean and seems to have a lot of regular customers, some even playing board games. If you like the place you like the place but I'm afraid to say that anytime I pass by these Booby's I'm afraid I'll just keep driving this time. I just don't taste the amazing that others may. I need more, more flavor and more bang for my buck. The best thing to me about the place has got to be the sign out front, that's about it.

Standard looking suburban burger/beef place. The staff was straight forward, almost taciturn, which I've found to be pretty common in the Chicago area. Not rude, but not the most cheerful either. They have an impressive menu. They are known for their steak sandwich but I went with the Big C Burger (a Big Boob with cheese). The price is cheap but I ended up paying almost 16 bucks for fries and a drink with it. The burger is delicious. Grilled onions, sauce, slaw. And it's big! The fries were average frozen crinkle fries. Five stars for the burger, three for the fries, three for service. Four stars total because the burger was that darn good.

Enjoying life's sizzles with the best steak sandwich we ever tasted!! If you have not been to Booby's you need to drive over now! The service is kind and accommodating and the ambiance is a basic diner type feel!

Decent food. I really like their Greek salad but it is pricey!! Like $14. Good soups- my son loves their chicken sandwich. Solid choice for a fast food quick bite.

From out of town and was looking for a spot to eat running an errand outside Chicago. Drove by this place and decided to give it a try. The service was friendly, food was good, and the place was clean. I'd definitely come back if I am out this way again.

My husband has been coming here since he was young. I've never been but Wow. What a BLT! Old school for sure. Hamburgers awesome. Will go back often.

The steak sandwich is tender, juicy, and very tasty! The house salad and fries are a great compliment. They keep a clean sitting area but the gender neutral restrooms can use more upkeep as one would not flush.Back to the tasty food, the tuna melt was good too but I usually get the steak sandwich and eat my wife's other tuna melt half too.Booby's makes it to my monthly rotation ;D

Finally made my way here. I do appreciate the old-school vibe and classic neon sign that stands outside. Booby's Charcoal Rib has been around since 1961 and like most mom & pop establishments, you are treated to excellent food and relatively fast service.I went for their breaded chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken is moist and well-seasoned, and coated with a crispy breading. The fries are crinkle cut and dusted with salt, basically what you'd get at your local Dengeos or Portillo's.Even though I live a half hour away, I will make it a point to come back and see what else can tantalize my taste buds. I was impressed with the quality of food and the restaurant ambience.

Saturday night 8 pm visit.Ordered 2 Steak sandwich dinners, one soup, cream of chicken, one salad and fries for both. The food is all turned out at the same time so if you choose to eat the soup and salad first the sandwich would be cold? I ate my meal backwards entree first then the soups and salads. It is a very basic sandwich steak, bread and some type of steak sauce on the bread. The steak was overcooked dry and bland. The bread had a nice bite to it but it was too large for the amount of meat they give you. Cream of Chicken soup like cafeteria bag soup nothing special very watery and bland. Small side salad with iceberg lettuce one slice of tomato and one cucumber ranch dressing was good. Inside the dining area was very clean, spotless booths and tables, all well organized. A older crowd of maybe a 10-12 people seated.The steak is the signature dish here but its lacking in my opinion. Don't think I will be back,

Amazing old school Chicago joint. As good as ever. Have to try the "big boob". Burger is unreal. Great food. Great prices.
