One of the few places in "North" Seattle where you can get "exotic" food (for a city that's heavily saturated with Asian/American food. So def a place to take friends to try out! Mostly everything is spicy cuz of the seasoning (I'm a 1-star at Thai food kinda girl). But the depth of flavor cannot be missed out on! In the summer they got this awesome outdoor seating/sandpit "beach in the city" vibe. Guys here are always nice and welcoming.

Went here on the recommendation of a friend and it didn't disappoint. Place was clean and roomy, staff were friendly and food was good. Decent portions for the price. We subbed the rice for more coleslaw. Definitely coming back to try more dishes.

Bongos is definitely a great restaurant! Can definitely get busy during peaks times like Friday night. There's a parking lot and street parking. The food is delicious! We went with a group of 7 and everyone ordered different items and all liked what we got. I will say that I think sandwiches are the way to go. I got a bowl and it was definitely drier compared to my husband's sandwich. The sandwiches definitely can get messy, but it's worth it.Dogs are allowed outside. Currently there's construction for the larger outdoor seating area, but usually it's a little sandy with picnic tables. Staff was very accommodating to our group with kids and dogs!

Their po boys are delicious! Super messy and gets soggy, when I got home I cut up my shrimp since they were huge and flashed the bread in the oven to crisp it up. It helped so much. Their sauces are yum too! They have so much space outside it's a cool casual beach-y-ish vibe. I would love to rent the space out for an event or party. I don't know if they do that but it's the perfect space for one.I wasn't a fan of their plate/bowls. Everything was a bit bland, or over cooked. Also the drinks could use more flavor and alcohol. It tasted like a cheap margarita mix and a splash of tequila. But I would come back for their po boys that's where it's at!

A review for bongos is long overdue for me- it's been a staple for my husband and I for years and we love any time we get it delivered or are able to hang out on the "beach" at their shop.We always get the indies chicken plate. I love their mango slaw, the black beans and the coconut rice.. the plantain and the chicken with the sauce.. ughh it's so good! Their portions continue to be huge and the flavors are incredible. We have been fortunate to get food here since before the pandemic and so glad they've continued to thrive since.Their location is fun, it has a beach outside and nice fire pits to sit by. It's unique and it's nice. Nothing fancy, but delicious food and a great vibe- prices are good and you get a great value with huge portions.. my vote, go to bongos!

Cannot believe we got an outside table in the sandy spot on one of the first sunny days in Seattle! This is a hidden gem - amazing sandwiches, cold Red Stripe and my kids were entertained the entire time. They played in the sand while we enjoyed our meal and then devoured the ham and cheese when we got home. Thank you Bongos for a family friendly place we all love!

Convenient spot for caribbean plates and sandwiches off the 99. It's roomy inside and there's a fireplace outside. Right across from Greenlake where you can take your meal on a walk.

A flavor bomb of Cuban food with open-air seating and sand pits in a converted gas station?! Count me in!! Bongos offers affordable, superb-tasting food in a pleasant eclectic environment. Go early to snag a table because it can get crowded during peak hours. There is a small parking lot out front and it is right next to Highway 99, across from Green Lake. Their menu features items from many different parts of the Caribbeans and their entrees are the bomb! - The Bart was messy deliciousness, the ultimate contender to Un Bien and Paseo's famous pulled pork sandwiches: the meat was sweet, rich and tender, there was a perfect amount of mouthwatering cheese and sauce, the pickled veggies balanced out the richness with tangy sourness, and all of this was on nice crusty bread. It tasted just as good the next day. - The jerk chicken in the West Indies plate had a great flavor and was surprisingly spicy!- Get the Trinidad Steak plate if you like well-cooked steak! - The Yucca fries were solid and nicely fried, but there were some stringy parts. You also couldn't taste the cilantro in the aioli.- We were disappointed in the Caribbean guava because you couldn't taste any alcohol so it was a $15 (albeit good-tasting) glass of juice.Despite the lack of drink, we had a great time. They are also extremely kid-friendly (there are toys in the sand pit!) and dog-friendly. You can follow the purple outdoor path to a very nice bathroom with a door code. This is the best place for a casual meal with a group of friends on a nice Seattle day!

This spot has been highly recommended and for good reason!Amazing food and I'd be back in a heartbeat. It's a small fast-casual place, with limited indoor seating and outdoor seating also available. You order at the counter and take a seat. When we went, it was completely full with more people stopping in. They don't have a ton of vegetarian options, but the vegetarian plate I got was excellent. Each part of it was hearty and delicious and flavorful, and the accompanying sauces were great! This spot has the best vegetarian options in terms of price, quantity, and flavor. I liked it a lot more than Paseo for all three of the above. The sandwiches and other plates my friends got also looked amazing, and they have a huge variety of options if you do eat meat.
