Bonchon

Everything you imagine fried chicken to be; crispy, crunchy and juicy with a Korean twist. Double fried chicken with a sauce that's brushed on after cooking. There were people sitting and enjoying food inside. There were also several to-go orders being picked up. We were greeted, asked if we were dining in and handed a menu. I must say, the aromas had my belly dancing. We sat and looked over the menu. Decided on wings and mixed up the sauces. Not really in the mood for spicy, so we opted for 1/2 Korean BBQ and 1/2 soy garlic. Coleslaw was our side choice. It was about ten minutes before hot food came out. As we walked back to the parking lot, the smell of Korean fried chicken escaped the bag. I wanted to plop down anywhere and try one of those wings. I waited till I was home and enjoyed it with hubby. Yes!!!! It's all the rage!!!! Soy garlic was my favorite. I have to be in the mood for spicy but, I do plan to try it.

Food 3/5 ordered the boneless 12 piece Korean fried chicken, and the street corn, the boneless chicken was fine. The sauce was salty and the chicken was tender however, it seems like they were using giant chicken nuggets. I've had a lot of better boneless wings elsewhere where they use whole chicken thighs, making it more juicier. There was no real crunch on the batter. And the sauce was just way too salty. The corn was very good and very cheesy! The best Korean corn I've had.Atmosphere 5/5 this is a cool place and trendy place to hang out with your friends. Prices are OK.Service 4/5 the service was OK. Our server was able to take our orders. She wasn't a rush the whole time. However, she never checked up on us. We had to flag down another server in order to get our bill.

Insane garlic and soy chicken. I recommend eating Korean fried chicken here with a large group of friends. Their menu is complete with staple comfort foods and drinks. The server didn't check in often, but it was very busy on a Saturday night so we didn't mind. Overall, it's a solid place with a woody, clean setting. Simple but delicious! -AT

This was my first time trying Bonchon. I decided to try the location in Chinatown. There were four of us so we were able to try many items. Service was okay, not fantastic. Ample seating. Didn't have to wait for a table.-Chicken wings half soy garlic half spicy 5 - spicy had a good amount of heat surprisingly but I really loved the soy garlic. The chicken in general was not overcooked or hard. Skin was crispy and meat was moist.-takoyaki 4 - not bad. Good price. Octopus cooked well.-japchae 4 - surprised this costs more than the chicken katsu. Good quality but the price is a bit too much.-pork buns 4 - good portion but the pricing is as much as the standard entrees.-chicken katsu 5 - generous portion for the price. Perfect for sharing. Chicken was crunchy. Sauce was savory.

Bonchon is the perfect place for a quick lunch! This is the first time I've been here and I was pleasantly surprised.I'd highly recommend the Korean fried chicken, loaded fries and the dumplings! All 3 items tasted great and had just enough spice to get ya going. I also want to make note that the flavor combinations were fantastic. Everything was really flavorful and each had a very different / unique flavor. I can tell that they really pay attention to what they are seasoning their food with.The team who works there was also very nice. Everyone we encountered was pretty chill and just very hospitable. I'd like to come back here to try more items on the menu!

This place is busy and that is a good sign! My sister and I went there for dinner. She ordered the spicy wings and I ordered the bbq one. I know the spicy one is too spicy for me. The bbq one is ok but just lack of a kick. I just wish they have a knot h down of the spicy one so I can actually enjoy my food. I have to say on a hot day and you serve water without ice is not something I recommend. Overall experience is alright.

I recently tried this place and they did not disappoint! The fried rice was spicy and very tasteful! I enjoy the chicken katsu as well, the sauce is bomb! The service was very friendly and quick! The ambiance is very nice I love the inside is homely feeling and it's the center of China town so I'm sure during summer days it's a great spot to people watch! I definitely will be back to the more menu items!

I always stop by here on my way out of Chicago. I highly recommend getting their fries and chicken out of anything else on the menu. They were delicious! I wasn't a fan of their radish as it was on the softer side. Service can be slow when refilling water. I felt like the waiter/waitress aren't as attentive.
