Tikki masala and garlic naan
It felt like a big basement. Wires, cables, hardware, chains, and a random shopping cart. Oh, and a concrete floor, of course!
The cool Indian lighting is a start! Now to get some cohesion going....
two plates of food
Filthy storage area!
a plate of food
Someone worked hard on this lovely piece...if only the whole place was cohesively decorated, instead of a bizarre cobbled-together decor!
My buffet to go.
The pile of inedible spices I dredged from my dish: 3 bay leaves & 2 giant black cardamom pods (5x the size of a regular one--terrifying!
Dirty freezers
I can't for the life of me figure out what these paintings are doing in an Indian restaurant. It just makes no sense.

Very disappointing. I guess I should have had a clue when they advertised Indian/pizza.The ambience is tacky and not very "Indian." Oak Harbor is a small town but they could definitely try harder. When we went inside the dining room no one was there except an Indian man (turban and full beard). He was on his phone and called the chef. (That same man later went outside and leaned on my car while talking on his phone. I had to ask him to stop.)The chef (a Caucasian man), the only other person in the restaurant, informed us that the only food available was a small list of food on a chalkboard. (The food on the website was not available. So much for ordering online!)I ordered chicken Tandoori and my wife got a vegetarian pizza. While waiting we got glasses of water with floaties. It took over 20 minutes to get the food. Another couple came in while we were waiting. I told them the menu situation. After waiting a while and no one came to greet them they walked out.The food was lukewarm but tasty. The pizza was way too small for the price. My chicken tasted good but a bit tough. My rice was cold and crunchy!I worked in restaurants for 13 years and so I don't like to put them down. BUT after traveling this country for 5 years (mostly small and local restaurants) this was the worst experience we have ever had!

NO! NO! NO! HORRIBLE! The only people going here should be THE HEALTH DEPT! This place is a BAD JOKE! Dirty, Greasy, Musty, & Smelly, and that's just the inside. The food was scary, overcooked on the outside, frozen on the inside. No one speaks English, the waiter(???) used his fingers to coax the sauce into a serving dish, as there really wasn't much left, And he had Dirty clothes and was very Sketchy looking, especially because he kept staring at us!PLEASE DON'T GO HERE

I never leave poor reviews but I feel like after my recent experience I should at least let people be aware. Do not try to order through a delivery/pick up app from this place! I have actually dined in the restaurant before and while it was a bit spendy, had a weird atmosphere and the food took a long time, it was pretty tasty food so that's why I'm giving two stars instead of one. If it was based on my ordering experience it would be negative! I placed an order through DoorDash, it was accepted and went through, says it's ready. 30 minutes later the DoorDash driver is messaging me saying they are at the restaurant and they aren't even open...and the person in there doesn't even know about my order. Long story short I jump through all these hoops, I called the restaurant and I'm pretty sure someone in the actual country of India answered asking "what location" I was looking for...DoorDash cancelled my order but then the restaurant kept calling saying they were now making my order and I needed to come pick it up or they would process the $...overall so unprofessional, absolutely do not list your restaurant available on order sites if you can't handle it! I see other reviews that seem to have the same problem. Bummer because it would be nice to have good Indian food nearby.

It is wonderful to have an Indian restaurant on Whidbey Island! We just discovered the place and have been there twice in one week. Our favorites: Chana masala (for the vegetarians), ginger chicken (tandoori), vegetable samosas, and butter naan. Looking forward to trying other things on the menu! They are also very accommodating about the spiciness - my husband needs very very mild spice. I am "Ms Asbestos Mouth" (I love hot and spicy). They accommodated both. We'll gladly drive 30 miles from South Whidbey to order from them again.

I literally never leave reviews, but I felt like this was necessary. I'm beyond disappointed; mostly because I called the restaurant, placed an order for takeout and was told it would be 20 min. I showed up after roughly 15 min and they never received the order from "Seattle location" and said it hasn't been started yet. Told me it would be another 20 min wait. After an hour from my initial call to walking out of the restaurant, I got home to this (picture below). The Naan was raw, uncooked dough and tikki masala was a bag of frozen vegetable medley in some gross, thick chicken stock. I've ordered the same thing before and it wasn't necessarily spectacular, but it wasn't this bad. I have no clue who was cooking or why.

Ordered via GrubHub. After the order was 45 minutes late, I made multiple attempts to contact the restaurant. Don't bother the don't answer.Contacted GrubHub and the said my order was never accepted by the restaurant even though I received text confirmation of order and arrival time frame. GH said they cancelled my order .Ok, so I head out to go get something for dinner and I get a text from an unknown number that my food was on the way. So the order arrived over 1.5 hours late after being told it was not in the system.Undercooked tandoori chicken. Bloody at the bone which tells me that proper food temping is not taking place. I know the difference between tandoori spices and blood. Curry sauce add on did not arrive. Spinach stuffed Naan was very doughy , bland and undercooked. Also ordered a gyro and requested the sauce be on the side. It was on the sandwich which was on a Naan type bread that was raw dough in the middle.Nice job! Keeping it classy folks.

As an Indian (ok, ABCD) who has traveled extensively in India, I can say based on experience that my dishes at this neighborhood Indian restaurant were mostly authentic Indian food served with authentic Indian service. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that we all preferred the food to multiple neighborhood Indian places in Seattle. The curries were nicely spiced with visible crushed whole spices showing they were using fresh spices not taking shortcuts. Some Americans or British people might take exception to the fact that the curry dishes weren't filled with whipping cream and butter grease, but let's be clear that doesn't happen in India so I took that as a positive not a negative. We orderered the veg kofta curry (nom nom), the lamb Punjabi curry (also nom nom), and a chicken tikka masala for my Bristish husband (also tasty and less "fake tasting" than the usual garbage my husband likes). The naans (we ordered butter, paneer and spinach) were tasty with a nice crisp on the outside and soft inside. The naan weren't drowning in grease as often happens at a neighborhood joint, which means I could actually eat and enjoy them. The only low food point was the Kachumber salad, which I was expecting to be similar to a Raita/village salad. Instead it was more akin to a relish plate than an American salad with cucumbers, tomatoes and onions with a little chaat powder scattered on top. That said, I've had that kind of relish plate served as Kachumber salad (as well as something resembling a horiatiki salad) in India so whatever. As to the service, like many restaurants they seem to be struggling to staff experienced folk and it was our waiters first day. ,with the current post-pandemic labor crisis it's a little hard to ding them too hard for that. It did mean that logistically there were some challenges (like our waiter didn't know if they had beer and if so, what types) but they had a positive attitude and were helpful and we got what we needed. Also, they aren't the frantically running around type. Which means that sometimes people would come in and it would take a minute for folks to realize they were there. But America is the only country where I feel like we expect our servers to be running around madly. When I have time for it, especially when dine in, I personally prefer the kind of time service provided In most other countries, including India, where everything is a little leisurely but not late, which is how I'd describe the service here. If you are short on time just factor that extra few mins in.The chef came out and checked on whether we enjoyed our food. She and her partner (husband?) we're all quite kind and trying to do their best to provide good service. They were all quite sweet to our young kids.If you can, I would suggest calling in an order as the online ordering system (or perhaps calling to confirm) as seems based on reviews to have some glitches.Having moved to Oak Harbor from Seattle with its myriad Indian restaurants and lived in the Bay Area before, I had low expectations. I was worried I would have to cook all my Indian far food myself. But Thank goodness Tasty India exceeded my expectations so I can lean on them instead.

Fluvio and I dined here last weekend. The food was delicious! The owner/cook made the best naan I have ever had, and the chicken saag was perfect. The service was prompt and friendly. There was a bit of a language barrier, but with a little patience and a little respect, it all worked out. How much more authentic could it be?The ambiance lacked the glitz that other Indian restaurants in larger cities might offer, but the location made up for that: a view of the harbor and the super moon (not yet full) rising in a clear sky.
