This review is strictly on their pastries, no drinks were ordered. This place recently has a line up of new pastries so I was pretty excited to try it as it is there daily unlike their popular donuts. The pastries are made fresh everyday and delivered to their store. Overall, the pastries was definitely delicious but on the pricier end in my opinion:- regular croissant ($6) a good size croissant, lamination needs a bit of work. I do like the subtle hint of crispy sugar on top- chocolate croissant ($6.5) similar to the regular croissant but with Chocolate inside, the chocolate isn't overpowering either but I did wish there was a bit more otherwise it taste just like a regular croissant-kouign aman - ($6) nice crunchy exterior and subtle sugar top. Inside is a little chewy but one of our favorite pastries out of this collection- ube marshmallow cookies ($5.25) very ube tasting which was surprising as most places don't put that much ube flavoring in their things. Soft cookie style- salted caramel mochi brownies ($7.5) very pricey in my opinion and was probably my least favorite. Too sweet and too chocolate-y for me.The people here are pretty nice and friendly though.I definitely do want to come back to try their crochi but once the hype dies down ahaha

This review is only about my experience with Bobae at the Bellevue Farmer's Market. The staff always seemed very friendly and enthusiastic to explain the items on their menu. Nitro OG Milk Tea: I really appreciate the strong tea flavor in this drink. I was only able to modify to 50% sweet, but it was still a bit too sweet. It was a pretty good drink.Blue Matcha: I was a bit disappointed with this drink. The matcha was lovely, but since I got 50% sweet the amount of blueberry flavor was not noticeable compared to the matcha. Additionally, the blueberry pieces were too big even for the big boba straw, which led to sips with tons of blueberry bits and very little drink.Lemon Mochi Bar: Wow, delicious! I loved the lemon flavor. The mochi texture was lovely. This light dessert was not too sweet, and I could easily eat multiple in one sitting. Ube Donut: Amazing donut! The donut did not feel too oily and there was so much filling! There was only a subtle ube flavor, but I still enjoyed this donut. The drinks are interesting, but the execution is mediocre. I'll definitely come back to try more pastry items though.

One of my top bubble tea spots in WA! I would recommend placing an order ahead of time as it can get pretty busy. Great customer service and their bubble tea is always consistent. My go to is their strawberry matcha, Nitro OG milk tea which is similar tasting to a Hong Kong milk tea, and Hojicha. I like that they have different milk alternatives for those who have sensitivity to dairy and that all their drinks are made with fresh tea. You can definitely taste the quality. Keep a lookout for their monthly creative menu and boba donuts. I haven't had their donuts myself but I know that they are very popular and look delicious! I wouldn't recommend coming here to hang out as the space has limited seating inside and due to it being noisy when it gets busy.

I'm a little bit torn on how to rate Bobae because my drink was amazing, but that wasn't the case for my nieces and nephews drinks. It was their first time getting their own bubble teas, so that was definitely a let-down. I got the Love Potion, which has a strawberry milk base with hibiscus tea, and added mango popping boba. Everyone loved mine and said they wished they'd ordered what I got. My sister-in-law ordered milk teas for the kids and got a thai tea for herself, all with regular boba. She said hers was fine, but the kids really didn't like theirs, so I tried it, and first off, the boba wasn't sweetened at all, so they didn't get the appeal (totally don't blame them) and then the tea didn't taste at all like a regular milk tea. I thought it tasted like hojicha or another roasted tea... When I looked at the menu just now so I could make sure I'd remembered the name of my drink for the review, I saw that there's a Bobaejicha milk tea made with hojicha, so either the cashier keyed in the wrong type of tea for their order when my sister-in-law said "milk tea" or we were given the wrong one by the person making them. I thought it was kind of bizarre to have a roasted tea be the default base for a milk tea since that's not a taste everyone loves right off the bat, and while I'm glad that's not the case, I'm still definitely bummed that the treat we had planned for the kids really didn't pan out. Also, the ube marshmallow cookie wasn't great. It just had sort of a doughy taste and the texture was underbaked. On the plus side, the prices are fairly reasonable, and each of our tea labels had a personalized positive message (TYSM, you're awesome, etc) so that was cute. I'd happily drink the "Love Potion" again, but the last visit definitely had some ups and downs.

Obsessed with Bobae and go to the Kirkland or Woodinville location almost weekly One of the best places to get tapioca pearls; they are always so fresh, warm, and soft!! Some of their drinks do come very sweet so I would recommend adjusting sweetness slightly depending on your preference.

The staff here are so friendly! I stopped by earlier this week to catch up with an out-of-town friend. We were instantly greeted upon walking in, and after taking some time to look through the menu, the cashier asked us what drinks we were thinking of getting and gave us his own recommendations based on our preferences.Upon picking up our order, another employee chatted with us and gave us more details about each drink. Usually at other boba joints I've been to there's minimal conversation, so this was a pleasant surprise!I ended up getting the lavender tea lemonade at 50% sweetness. The cashier warned that reducing the sugar could add tartness due to the stronger presence of lemon. In hindsight, I probably should have listened to him - my drink was good but definitely on the bitter side.Interior is super cute and clean. If it was closer I would love to stop by Bobae more often for the boba and friendly staff! Will be back next time I'm in the area.

This place is sooo cute and one of my favorite hidden gems in Woodinville! The drinks are all unique because they are inspired by the owners' different life experiences. The staff presents each beverage with a little speech which makes this shop stand out from other boba & coffee shops. So much love for Bobae! :)

Too expensive. They should think about being more competitive. Ordering a large bubble tea with 2 topping is close to $10. The large size here is like a medium at other places. Going to Coco next time. Large Bubble tea with 3 toppings is about $7.

I'm going to start off by saying that the customer service here is always awesome. Everyone is very friendly and well educated on their drinks. The vibe is laid back and quiet. There aren't any games or anything and the seating is a little limited but no big deal. They always have a rotation of fun, tasty pastries like Vietnamese coffee flavored macarons and taro cookies with mochi inside. I get the same order wherever I go for boba which is a jasmine green tea w cheese foam and lychee jelly. I've ordered from here probably 3 times and although I really like what they stand for, I probably won't go back. The main downside to me is just how expensive it is. This same drink order would cost me $7.50 at Happy Lemon. Here it was almost $11.50 That's a huge difference. You pay extra just to get the drink in the standard size you'd get it anywhere else. Each topping costs more than it does at other places. I guess it makes sense because they are Woodinville but as I'm always really surprised when I see the receipt. My other and final qualm: the cheese cap lets me down every time. I'm used to cheese foam/crema/cheese cap being thick, creamy and rich at other places. Here it's very runny and you don't even really notice it. If I'm paying $1.50 for a topping I definitely want to taste it.TLDR: if you have the money then you should totally support this place because it's a small business that's doing a really good job all things considered. If you aren't ready to spend a lot of $$ on a drink and/or your favorite topping is cheese foam, try someplace else.
