So disappointed and I grew upA Chopin park kid in the 80's. The bread was not the same and the sandwiches just didn't have the meat and Love the old owner and his employees had for the business. Thanks for 25 years of consistent great sandwiches but it's time to move on for me.

New owner New staff New bread Way soggier sandwiches Old smell is gone that's a plus Won't last with new owners. Not the same . Been going since 1994 today was my last meal there. How can they let a Chicago staple die ?

Been going here since the 70's. They had pasta many moons ago. They have subs regular sandwich's . Subs large and small! Small is an ample size ! Soups of the day bowl or cup are delicious. Chips beverages soda pop bottles cans or machine! Restrooms in the back but you can ask! Hey Hey Bobs keep it going! Too many sandwiches subs to chose from but my party all had chicken salad with the cream of broccoli soup!

The subs here are amazing. It's a family owned business and it shows. The employees have been here for years and always are very welcoming. The subs are made on fresh bread and the portions of meat and cheese are great. They aren't stingy at all with anything when it comes to the toppings. Right amount of oil, seasonings, and vinegar. This place is a staple in the neighborhood and I will make the commute if 1.5 hours to have a sub here.

Saturday lunchtime not very busy inside waited a few minutes to place my order two subs, large Italian with hot peppers and a large ham and turkey. The restaurant was clean the food arrived in about five minutes. Both sandwiches the cold cuts were tasty and fresh. The toppings were spot on however, the bread which is traditionally very fresh was not this time. Tough and hard to chew through. (Jaw workout)The sign in the window reads Turano Bread a Chicago legend in bread making. Delicious tender and crusty sandwich bread when fresh. Serving sandwiches with day or two old bread not gonna fly in this town, if you want to stand the test of time don't skimp on the bread. I will be back, I don't want to see this famous Chicago spot not survive.

The place is noticeable dirty. From the ceiling to the floors, and every surface in between. Soooo sad how this place has gone down with new owners. The smell inside was just wrong... If I hadn't already paid, I would've left without the food.

Consistently delicious. I've never had a bad meal here. Still affordable too! Even with the change in ownership it stands above the rest.

Unfortunately this place got either sold or was bought out about a year ago. While there is now just a familiar face or two the quality of the food has gone down but more importantly the service is just bad. Rude and not caring about the customers, such a shame this was hands down the best neighborhood sandwich and soup spot.

Ordered a roast beef sub yesterday for take out. At home I discovered that I recd a corned beef sandwich with TWO slices of meat and the sandwich was drowned in yellow mustard. $10 down the drain.
