I recently visited Board & Brew in Tempe, AZ, and I have to say, I left with mixed feelings.First, the positives. The beer selection was decent, with a variety of options available. However, I was a bit disappointed that it didn't showcase a broader range of local craft beers. As someone who loves to explore local brews, I found this aspect lacking.The ambiance is worth mentioning. It has a skater surfer vibe, reminiscent of Long Beach, but it felt somewhat out of place in Tempe. If you're into that aesthetic, it might appeal to you, but it didn't quite resonate with me.Now, onto the experience itself. I arrived at 6 PM on a Friday and was surprised to find the place almost empty, especially considering other nearby spots had a 45-minute wait. This could be seen as a plus if you want a quiet evening, but it raised some red flags for me. However maybe this is more of a lunch spot given that they're not open later. However to that however, the board and brews name tag implies cool fun bar and it felt there was an identity crisis with a segregated bar and eating area which made the establishment feel more akin to Torchy's if you know that reference. Service was where things really fell short. Despite being the only customer, I had to wait while the manager and the girl taking orders were engaged in a deep discussion about scheduling. This continued even after I approached the register. It took a few minutes for them to acknowledge me and take my order, and the same delay occurred when I went to get my beer. Customer service definitely needs improvement here.I didn't try their sandwiches, so I can't comment on that aspect of their menu. However, based on my experience with the beer and service, I wasn't overly impressed with their take on the genre of food and drink they aim to provide.Overall, while Board & Brew has potential, there are key areas that need improvement, especially in terms of service and local beer offerings. Hopefully, they can address these issues and create a better experience for their customers.

First had Board & Brew in California and was excited to see one here! Had the San Diegan sandwich, which was delicious and huge. The price point is on the high end.

My sisters and I stopped by on our way back home and I'm so happy we did, the guy at front taking orders had good customer service, the place was clean, and the sandwiches were so good and big too! We got the California delight, turkey club, and vegi supreme.

I've ordered three sandwiches from this restaurant and they are delicious. No skimping on the meat here, and the bread is fresh. I haven't been in yet, but if I'm nearby and need something for lunch or dinner, I sure will! Yummy!

Love their tuna. I'm a huge fan of it. I've also tried others but I keep going back to their tuna

When we arrived, the place was very packed. We didn't think anything of it until I got up to the register and the lady told me it would be about a 25-30 minute wait. I said it was okay and ordered my sandwich, assuming they overestimate the wait time and it would less than that, especially for a simple sandwich. 25 minutes later and still nothing. I asked if I missed my order be called out, and they just brushed it off saying it was just a long wait, even thought I was positive I saw people who ordered before us getting their meals. 40 minutes rolls around and I start panicking because we have an appointment to be at. After 47 minutes, they finally call my name. Service time was ridiculous for a simple cold cut sandwich that I could've gotten at Jersey Mikes for no wait at all. I found the sandwich to be incredibly wet and drenched, and the bread was rather thick for my liking. It also had an incredibly sweet taste, which I have never experienced with my Italian subs from Jersey Mikes. I will just stick to what I know works, from now on. Sorry Board & Brew, your salads never failed me at the California locations but this Tempe one- wouldn't return. The 1 star is for the cookie that my friend ordered, she said it was alright.

Left coast pastrami is great. Must try. The service is good as well. Always have a good time eating there.

This is probably the best sandwich spot in the tempe area. The service is great and the environment is friendly. You cannot go wrong with the draft beers they have and the baja beef sandwich.

love this place!! cookies are bomb.com and the workers are always super nice! The atmosphere is super chill and the location is right next to asu campus
