Board & Batten

Beautiful evening with family, dining alfresco on the gorgeous patio at Board and Batten. We started with drinks by the fire table, tasty beginning, Champagne for the ladies and a couple bourbon concotions off their speciality drink menu, perfect start.I thought it was great that they allowed us to relax before we went to out table, but those tasty drinks put us in the mood to dine.We choose to start with a bottle of Russian River Chard and a bottle of red blend, I very much impressed by the stylish stemware, both white and red wine glasses. The waiter was kind enough to decant the red and allow it to breath. Appetizers were next, Charcuterie Board, fried Artichokes hearts, fresh baked dinner rolls and pork belly, all so yummy. Entrees came 15 minutes after we were done with our appetizers, just enough time to relax and not feel rushed, both the ladies had ordered the salmon and the gentleman had ordered spring lamb and pork chops, I must say we shared everything and we all just raved about the wine, service and the food, really a special evening. Thank you very much to the crew at Board and Batten for making our evening so wonderful

I recently visited Board & Batten, looking forward to a relaxing evening with a few drinks and appetizers. However, my experience was a mixed bag. Starting with the drinks, I ordered a dirty martini, specifically requesting Kettle One vodka. Unfortunately, they were out of it, and the substitute just didn't hit the mark. It lacked the smoothness and flavor I was hoping for, leaving me disappointed.As for the food, I was particularly excited about the pork belly starter, especially after the bartender vouched for its quality. Sadly, it didn't live up to the hype. What arrived was a soggy dish predominantly composed of greens and kimchi, with barely any pork belly to be found. It felt more like a kimchi salad than the rich, savory pork belly dish I had anticipated.While the ambiance at Board & Batten is inviting, the experience left much to be desired in terms of both drinks and appetizers. I hope they can address these issues for future patrons.

This is hidden in a nice neighborhood in Mesa. Small, intimate place. I came for my birthday dinner. They did a reservation for 8 and we had great service. I will definitely be back because the patio wraps around the building and is gorgeous. It was closed and didn't see any misters but it is summer. The menu is very limited, that might be my only complaint. The powered mojito cocktail was refreshing. The Spaghetti and meatballs were flavorful. The noodles were thicker than expected but I enjoyed it. The desert bar was my favorite and worth coming back for.

This place was really nice! It was clean, service was great, and food was awesome great! I had the Roast Beef Sandwich with chips, my friend had the French Dip Grilled Cheese which looked so good! The outside sitting area would be awesome in the cooler months! We will definitely be back!

We had gone hiking out at Lake Saguaro and wanted a bite on the way home. We found this place through Yelp and thought it sounded good. At first we thought we were entering a country club but found the restaurant easily! It has the cutest layout! Very clean and welcoming aesthetic! We sat on the patio (dog friendly) which was really big and had umbrellas and a few fireplaces! It was a really nice place.We both we over the moon with our food. It came out pretty quickly and had incredible flavor! The chicken sandwich is amazing! The service was also very nice and made sure our drinks were always filled! Overall awesome experience that is worth the drive out to Mesa! We will definitely be back!Also I LOVE that the check comes out in a book that you can leave a cute note in!

Delicious!!This place was not only great but the restaurant is so adorable. If you're looking for a great date night location in Mesa, you must give Board and Batten a try!!!Our server was great! Very attentive and explained the menu thoroughly

Best lunch ever. We had the lobster egg salad sandwich with house made chips and southwest chopped salad - everything was unbelievably delicious.

Amazing food and atmosphere. I sometimes forget their hours and try to go on days they're closed, so check their hours if you go. Highly recommend!!

At first walking in the wait staff weren't as friendly but thank goodness we had Aaron as our server. Aaron was top down the best server that makes the restaurant top notch! He was amazing with his recommendations and I love when restaurants know their menu and can give solid recommendations. We especially loved the appetizers, we had the shrimp and meatballs. The entrees were also great and well seasoned. My highlight was the drink Aaron recommended which had a really nice citrus touch, a bourbon drink. Unfortunately we did not have a reservation on Wednesday evening but luckily they had seating. The outdoor location was fully booked so we hope to reserve in advance in the future so we can have a more intimate dinner outside! They even have blankets for you to use!

I tried the roast beef sandwich with chips at Board & Batten, and it was really good. The roast beef was tender and flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning. The sandwich was well-balanced, with fresh bread that held everything together nicely. The chips were a great side, crispy and not too greasy. The service was friendly and efficient, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance was cozy and rustic, with a relaxed vibe that made it a perfect spot for a casual meal.
