Finally got the chance to come here! I've been craving a good ahi tuna sandwhich and this place did not disappoint! I order the wasabi crusted sesame seed crusted ahi tuna sandwich, onions rings, clam chowder , a dozen oysters & sautéed mussels and clams. Everything was delicious! I would order everything again except for the oysters, they weren't the best. I came on a Friday afternoon , plenty of street parking available and tables indoor and outdoor,

Blue Water is a gem my boss introduced me to, and I've been hooked ever since. Their beer-battered scallops tacos are to die for--perfectly cooked, buttery soft scallops bursting with flavor. The cabbage and cheese on the taco, combined with the perfect salsa, make it a fulfilling meal. Pair it with their fresh, delicious fries and onion rings, and you'll be stuffed! The lemon garlic butter sauce is amazing if you ever want to just order scallops and have them cook it for you; I've never had scallops cooked so perfectly. My boss swears by the shrimp, either lemon garlic butter or blackened, though I can't try it due to a shellfish allergy--it always looks incredible.Parking can be a challenge on India Street, so we aim for off-peak hours, but it's always busy. The service, however, has room for improvement. The waitstaff and cashiers were rude and argumentative both times I visited, which was disappointing. Despite this, the food quality keeps me coming back.If you can overlook the service, the food at Blue Water is absolutely worth it!

This has been my wife and I'd go to place every time we come down to San Diego. First times we came we were surprised how hidden a location this was. This is one of those spots you HAVE to go to when you are in San Diego. We make our first meat and going home Blue water every visit now. I have a habit of taking raw fish in a portable refrigerator whenever I go down there.Food here is a new level of phenomenal. If you see a like, don't leave get in it ASAP you know use what you would be missing if you left.Fish and Chips - Fluffy batter with great waffle friesCioppino how so much fish and shell fish along with the best buttery seafood tomato based soup you will never find a better one everClam chowder here is so insanely good. The bread bowl version comes with the lid toasted with garlic butterToo much to talk about it you really need to get it to believe it.The staff here is amazing, from the past to present a big shout out to cashiers Brynn, Sophia, and Brianna. Runners that keep us refilled and checks on us constantly Monica, Sarah, and Amber. And the fish market peeps from David to Sean. This staff is part of the experience and we love it.We will back again soon. I'm already craving it again.Highly recommend this as an essential hot spot of your trip!

Parking: Free Street and metered are both available but limited, even though we arrived before opening. Ordering: You can grab a menu while standing in line. The line moves very slowly, and you order at the window. Ambiance: There was indoor, outdoor, and garden (hybrid of both). We chose indoors because there was the occasional fly buzzing around outside.FOOD: - Clam chowder bowl ($9.75): Creamy, hearty, nice level of saltiness. Definitely would recommend ordering this.-Calamari ($15): Panko is very browned, and the squid seems to have been overcooked with more chewiness than tenderness. I would not order this (if this is the way they cook it every time)-Panko crusted fish with waffle fries ($20): Coleslaw is nicely creamy with a hint of sweetness. The fish is fairly tender and moist for a piece of white fish. I love waffle fries so that was a treat. It was a good portion size for the price, but did not taste particularly special. - Track Taco ($8.75): The tortilla was toasted but tasted stale/chewy. The filling was quite generous and tasty, but the overall dish was ruined by the weird tortilla. I may recommend this taco (it is supposedly award-winning) but do warn you about the texture of the tortilla

Haven't been here in many years.I was impressed by the size and volume of the mussels! I tried the un-traditional version -- jalapeno -- and I was surprised that it came in a giant bowl. I was enjoying that I forgot to count the number of mussels (or the number of shells). The tomato based broth had lots of jalpenos and was a little spicy but not too much. The mussels were fresh and I ate every single one, along with the the three slices of toasted sour dough bread. I took the left over broth in a to go soup container. Next time, I will try the traditional white wine version. My friend had yellowfish tuna (?) -- some kind of fish that he really liked. I liked the "help yourself" water with the dispenser and cups. We sat outside on the patio area on the side of the restaurant. It has outdoor seating in the front too. We will be back!

This place is very popular online so I thought I'd give it a try. The line was super long to order and we waited around 20 minutes. After ordering at the cashier register, they give you a number and you find a table to sit at. I noticed that you weren't supposed to sit down until you got a table number but i still saw a few people doing it anyway so it was hard to find a table. As soon as we found a table, the appetizer came out shortly. We got the calamari and it was delicious. Their calamari is definitely special and I cant find this any where else. We also got the oysters which I enjoyed a lot. For my entree, I got the cod and scallops tacos. I loved the scallop tacos, it tasted so fresh and amazing. The sauce it came with added extra flavoring as well. However, the cod taco was alright.. I didn't like the cod too much. We also got the homemade hearty seafood soup, and it was delicious. It's made fresh everyday and I can tell!! The seafood was so yummy.

Came here after a day at Sea World which is close by. Park on Chalmers street where it has free parking spaces. There are meter parking on India street as well. Just do not park in the parking lot on India and Chalmers because that is for a different complex. They do have a restroom available inside for the customers so feel free to dig in with your hands and wash them after. There was a long line when we got there around 5:30pm but moved relatively quickly (Got there at 5:30, ordered and sat at 6:10 and got our first order at 6:40). Although it seems like a 'find your own seat' set up, they will guide you to a table once you are done ordering so don't feel rushed to grab a table. It is best to wait until you get to the front of the line so that those before you can actually sit and finish their food for the next customers. They had inside seating, back patio seating and up front parking lot (COVID era) seating as well. We were seated up front since we were a group of 5 people and it got a bit chilly since their heating lamp was broken. Their tacos were packed as you can see in the photo and the Cioppino was amazing. It came super hot and the soup was soooo good I wanted to bring the rest home. It is so easy to make this super salty but it was just perfect. If you like seafood, you will most likely enjoy it here. It might not be super friendly for a large group due to the seating availability unless you come at a less busy time of day.

Dining here is always a pleasure. Staff is very friendly. The wait to order before you down system works shockingly well. The line goes very quickly and honestly kind of adds to the entire experience. This was my first time trying the Track tacos... award winning for a reason. Messy in the best possible way. The day before I had the beer battered scallop tacos which were soft and sweet. Fish sandwich both days for the hubby. He talks about this sandwich constantly from our home in Las Vegas. That sandwich is what got us in the car to San Diego this weekend.Clam chowder is fantastic. Big clams and firm vegetables make it the only way to start your meal. Freshest fish prepared just the way you want it, what else can you ask for?!?

Still one of our family's favorite places to stop by! Parking can get tricky, but if you during off peak hours, it is worth the drive. The place itself still has that same local, hole in the wall feel it had 5 years ago. The tacos haven't changed one bit, and the experience in general keeps making us come back.

Wow, the scallop tacos were the best part here! Large tacos too.Long lines here because they're known for their fresh seafood. We ordered a bunch of food but I failed to take more photos. The standout were the beer battered scallop tacos, I'd come back for those. The other fish tacos paled in comparison for me. The plates are pricey but have big portions if you don't want tacos.Parking can be a little tough here, mostly street parking and one lot further down on India Street.Seating on the patio (covered indoor) and outdoor on the street.
