There are many aspects of this of restaurant i really enjoyed, the view of the ocean is beautiful, the ambience and presentation of the food also was great! But unfortunately the service was not good at all and almost soured the entire meal. We were sat pretty quickly but it took forever for us to even be acknowledged by our server. It took about 15 minutes for us to even be asked what we wanted to drink, and in that time, we observed the waiters standing around/socializing, not even looking towards our direction. There also seemed to be more of a focus towards parties sitting in the window seats which added to the wait times for our table. I wish i could rate this place higher as i enjoyed the food, but considering my experience, and some of the other reviews I've seen, there's a serious issue with service here.

I recently celebrated my 3-year anniversary with my boyfriend here, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the restaurant's location just steps from the beautiful La Jolla beach set the perfect romantic tone for our evening. While we waited for our table, we took a walk around the beach, soaking in the breathtaking ocean views and seeing adorable sea lions--it was the perfect way to start our special night.Once we were seated, we were immediately struck by how comfortable and welcoming the atmosphere was. The restaurant has a modern yet cozy vibe, and the view of the ocean from our booth table made our evening even more memorable. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish thoughtfully presented. We shared the animal buns, pork belly bao, rainbow roll, and omakase box. The attention to detail in both the taste and presentation of the food was truly impressive.Overall, Blue Ocean Harumama provided the ideal setting for our anniversary dinner. The combination of the stunning ocean view, romantic ambiance, and mouthwatering food made it a night to remember. If you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a fantastic meal with a view, I highly recommend this spot!

Make sure to ask for a table with an ocean view to get the full experience:) Delicious food; really anything is great but a must are the delectable and cute animal baos. A+ service, food and quality for the price.

If you are in the area and are craving ramen then THIS is your spot! Our friends brought us to this gem with great food and views! Make sure to come right at opening to get a booth next to the window. I accidentally ordered a Shirley temple thinking it was alcoholic, but it was actually so good!!Flying pig ramen: 10/10 My friend recommended we substitute the pork chashu with ground pork and it was bomb!!Rainbow spider roll: 9/10Jalapeno roll: 9/10 Crispy wontons: 7/10 (good but I've had better)

Pretty excited that Harumama opened a branch in LA Jolla. Also exciting that they have sushi. We got the yellowtail jalapeño roll which was great. Not too spicy. We also got the chicken sandwich bao which was delicious. We also ordered and shared an order of the Omakase. Plenty to share between 2 people. The fish was fresh. Ocean views even if not sitting directly at the windows. We got the Nutella bao and strawberry bao for dessert. Absolutely love the Nutella one! Service was a bit unorganized. I think they have been understaffed. They asked if we wanted to pay before our meal was done. Basically please be ready to leave when done eating. I do like their food but service should count for something.

This place is such a hidden gem! I was worried since I've see reviews about the slow service but we went right when it opened at 11:30am on a Saturday and we basically had the whole place to ourselves and had great service with food coming out quickly. The themed character buns were super cute and delicious too! It was a good spot to get a lot of shared items to split between two people plus the view was sooo nice. Definitely coming back soon!

We came here on a Sunday evening for dinner. We got there around 5pm because they don't take reservations and we figured that if we go for an early dinner then we wouldn't need to wait long. We did end up waiting about 15 minutes. As a party of 6, we ordered a bunch of items to share which included an order of cow buns, pig buns, superhero poke, grilled salmon kama, cucumber noodle salad, spicy sashimi salad, chef specialty roll, California roll, and screaming yellowtail sushi. There may have been one or two more but I can't remember. They were all good. The portion size of the salmon kama was generous. The salmon piece was bigger than I expected and it came with a good size salad. So for $9, the Kama was a great deal. The portion sizes of the other items were as expected. The fish tasted fresh. Most of the items came quickly. The items are fairly priced but because we did end up ordered a bunch of small items, it did add up but still turned out to be a reasonable amount considering you are in La Jolla. If you get seated by the window you will have an amazing view with your dinner. We were not next to the window but could still see the view though it wasn't as good from where we sat. But that's where an after dinner walk would solve that issue. Service was good. My three wishes here are for them to pick up the phone. Very hard to get a hold of the people here. My second wish is that they take reservations although I understand why they don't. Then my last one for earlier parking. It's always crowded down there, especially in the summer. I do think this location is worth a visit.

We were very happy with our dinner out. The food and staff were amazing. The view stunning and the prices were right! We tried a few different things. My favorite ended up being the Power Poke Bowl, but everything was yummy and beautiful. The negatives are that where we sat was hot (it was summer) and there isn't air conditioning. If there is a way to get those windows open above even more that would help out with air flow. We'll be back to try some of the other things as they have a large menu.

Tried the one in little Italy, but when we come to San Diego, we usually stay away from downtown. So we were so excited to see they opened a harumama in La Jolla and had to give it a try! Waited about 20 min for a window seat, which I'm happy we did as we got the amazing views of the ocean and sunset. Service was a little slow, but totally understand as it was busy. The food was absolutely delicious! I always love me a good ramen bowl & they nailed it. Plus for only $7, we were able to add a rib eye on a hot pan. Also got the salmon Kama and chicken karage as a small appetizer. And of course ended it with some bunny deserts! Wanted to try the koala, but they ran out so the server subbed it with churros for the inconvenience & they were delicious!! Can't wait to come back.

Went here on a Friday for brunch. We beat the crowd because everyone and their mama was trying to get a table. We were seated at window side, overviewing the ocean of La Jolla. Which made our stay worth while. The main reason we wanted to dine in this restaurant. Ordered noodles, buns and salad along with some assorted Sakes. All were very good. This place did not dissapoint. Good location, clean and good service. I recommend if you want to try some Asian grub.Beware: To get parking around this location is rather difficult. It's all by luck if you see a parking space or you can just opt in to pay for public parking, $20 to $30. "All pending on Parking Venue."
