We were wanting to go to a sushi go around and this was the closest one that we know of. I looked it up last night and saw pictures of the go around so we decided to go check it out. When we walked in, we noticed it definitely was not a go around anymore. At 5 o'clock and there was only two tables of people. We initially walked out, but decided to give it a try. We ordered the chicken karage and it had a weird breading and the chicken tasted hard and stringy. The sushi itself was ok, but not that tasty. My6 year old liked the California roll she got, but my husband and I were disappointed by our selections.

I love this place because it's convenient to stop by. The food has always been an acceptable. I've been eating here since they opened originally over 14 years ago I loved it when it was a belt. During Covid they changed to survive I suppose and the quality/value here was great. They recently brought back the belt and I'm super happy about it. Service over the years has always been okay. Depends on the wait staff. It's a pretty cool spot inside high ceilings and a good sushi belt vibe place. This is a special place for me. It's where my kid first had sushi and it's her favorite place to go. Especially now that the belt is back.

We decided we wanted conveyor belt sushi because we just wanted sushi without spending so much. This place is very close to our place and there's no conveyor sushi in federal way, but this place. The service was great, we were seated right away, and the waitress was super friendly. I loved the ambiance as well. Compared to other conveyor belt sushi, this is probably one of my least favorites. Everything was cold, even the expensive ones. There was actually barely any plates or choices on there. The prices of the ones in the conveyor belt was actually different compared to the ones on the menu. The sushi it self didn't taste as good as the other places I went to. The roll we did order was okay, it was also $18 but still didn't taste fresh. We'd love to try it again and see if it was just a bad night for them. Again, the workers were amazing, it was just the food that didn't live up to its hype.

Ahhh... sad to say the quality went down the hill since I visited two years ago. I must say, their seared salmon stayed consistent but the overall ambiance of the restaurant, some sushi quality and taste has gone down. Entered the restaurant at 8pm and first thing I noticed was inside the restaurant was very warm. Outside was way cooler than inside making the eating experience not so pleasant. It also appears that half the dining area is utilized for storage and the other half for customers to eat. We ordered:Seared Salmon, which was still pretty good but for sure other places are better. Chicken karaage was not karaage. It was literally batter and chicken and deep fried. Nothing too special or seasoning to it. Baked scallops, was good but way too much mayo. Drenched. Spicy mayo cost an extra dollar per order. You know a restaurant is not doing so well when they are nickel and dining on spicy mayo...Overall experience was mediocre. Dining area was too warm, food was mediocre, service was phenomenal tho.

Food was flavorful; salad was not the flavor I expected from an Asian restaurant. Alcohol was sweet and good. The restaurant was very quiet within the two hours before close. Servers appear a tad understaffed

I have been to Blue Island Sushi and Roll in the past prior to COVID and enjoyed it as it was one of the first conveyer belt sushi restaurants in the area. However, after many other conveyer belt sushi restaurants opened up and showed better quality, service and prices I had stopped coming by. After COVID, I heard from my mother and other family members that they began to do dine in and that the food was a lot better. It seems sometime in 2024, they decided to open up the conveyor belt again. I heard this information from friends who used to visit during their conveyer belt days. They have some of their old favorites from back then (such as the ichi roll) but the quality is nowhere near their prime several years ago. Furthermore, they increased their prices and even then you're better off going to a different conveyer belt sushi restaurant anywhere else. To make things even worse and ruined any chance of me trying out their conveyor belt sushi or any item on that belt was the fact that they did not have lids. So for all I know, dust and other health concerns were gathering around the food. I have no idea why that was the case as some items had lids but I would a good 80% of items were not covered with a lid. So I just ordered a kitchen item because I was concerned about getting sick after eating something on the conveyor belt. The only thing that was good was the jjampong, which I believe was probably introduced when they were doing dine in as that was not an option when I attended several years ago. My boyfriend never usually dislikes a place and is generally content with his meals but he openly admitted that this was one of the worst sushi experiences he has ever had.The interior hasn't changed since they first opened in all honesty. The seating and décor seems to be where they were before too. It feels a bit like they are trying to look upscale but with their presentation of taste and food, it definitely does not match.

Belt is back! This is one of the only conveyor belt sushi spots around. Service is excellent, very attentive and the sushi chefs and wait staff are receptive to fresh orders of rolls/plates.
