Blue Fin Sushi

Sushi was heavy on rice. It also took a bit of time for the food to come out. Staff was friendly. Price seemed reasonable upon first glance at the menu but considering the amount of rice it made sense in the end.

Blue fin has been one of my favorite restaurants to go to over the years. Their sushi is great, service is great, and you get alot of delicious food in the bento box for a fair price! Highly recommend blue fin.

We drove into Bellingham after 11+ hours on the road. Sushi sounded great. We called Blue Fin but they were doing takeout only. Well. We could do that. Ordered two sashimi combos with sides of sushi rice. Pickup was on time. The restaurant is in a mini mall. Inside the place was wrapped up with tables set up in front to handle take out. The staff checked my order before wrapping it up carefully. And thanked me. Covid has taken such a toll on small businesses. And clearly Blue Fin trying to survive. I hope they do because their sashimi was great. Tuna, yellowtail, fatty tuna, salmon and more. Fresh and delicious. And beautifully presented. Thank YOU Blue Fin

Got there a few minutes before they opened at 4:30pm today. We were the second table seated, but they quickly filled up. We sat down and knew what we wanted already since we looked online. We were brought water pretty quickly, and watched all seats become filled up in minutes. It was a bummer to watch others who came in after have their order taken first but we weren't sweating it. We finally got to order, and several items weren't available, no big deal. But then it came to them letting me know they cant prevent cross contamination with my onion allergy, because they were too busy. We ordered anyways, and watched the people who came at the same time receive their food, and also finish. We got our order 55 mins after arriving. I found that to be a bit strange as again we got there before the doors even unlocked. My husband ordered a warm sake for us, but we were only brought one cup. At that point we were just excited to eat as we were over an hour away from home. The salmon sashimi tasted fresh, but then it came to the other rolls. They were not fresh, one was so pungent with a fishy a taste that I gagged, and ended up not eating. It's been hours now, and my stomach is so upset, and I'm so nauseated. The only person who came around to check on my family was the server filling water cups. Absolute bummer for my birthday celebration. If you're looking for good sushi, they aren't it. Next year I will make the drive to Sugo hand roll bar.

Walked in and only found 2 seats available, first sign that it's a fabulous establishment. Service was excellent. Our server was very attentive, even though it was quite busy at dinner rush. The food was absolutely delicious, pleasantly surprised! Took my best friend who's a Japanese food connoisseur and even he enjoyed it! This place is legit and I'll be going back! Thank you Blue Fin!

Great quality of food, nice staff and cozy atmosphere. We love to take our grandkids for the best sushi around at Blue Fin !

I was not expecting to have a 5 star experienceI am a sushi snob. I travel. Airline employee that gets to a lot of sushi places. My favorite. Was this place perfect......Only in ambiance would I cherish a change. I prefer dark , old school , all Japanese talking, only white guy in the place experiences. What gives?No tv'sThank you for not putting in the American crap experience. I was worried when came in and it was light. I prefer dim. I saw a lot of to go orders. A bad sign. Americans like sweet sauces sugaring their rolls. Yuk. I like basic basic oceanic complicated well balanced stuff My spider roll alone got this place 5 stars. No sauce no tricks. Well balanced and earthy Thank you. I needed the treat. Appearing Americanized. I figured the service at the bar would be slow. Or was not. My saki was filled will. Thank you. That small touch. Earned a star for sure. I hate waiting. I love waiting for sushi. Hate waiting for saki. Spider roll was earthy and well balanced. I was bummed they had no uni... yet uni needs to be fresh. The sushi chef knew the date of uni arrival. I didn't like the atmosphere at all. Yuk. I like darker. More traditional musky woodsy Japanese decor. Bid enough to not look fwd to my next visit. Good job. First sushi to go on place I've given 5 stars. Again. Way to go. Good job.

HORRIBLE HORRIFIC !!!! First, the food is ok - Just mediocre. Not once but THREE times we have gone here and they are not serving. Sign says open in BIG neon letters and closing time says 8 pm - we walk in at 7:20 not serving anymore! THATS NOT HOW YOU RUN A BUSINESS!!!!!!!! THREE times!!!!! Be warned. If they feel like closing they will whenever even though sign says open and people inside. We will NEVER EVER EVER go back. Driving to BC for sushi. We have photos capturing of all three times. SO RUDE & unprofessional. You get dressed, your hungry , your ready for sushi , date night - BAM!!! we aren't serving !!!! 45 min before 8pm!!! NOPE won't happen again because we won't be back. Fool me once fool me twice .

My husband and I have been here a few times since discovering it, and I have to say, their food is delicious! I don't eat raw fish myself, so I ordered a chicken teriyaki Bento box, which was filling and tasty! They are very generous with the chicken; the shrimp and vegetable tempura, and the California rolls were wonderful. I have since been to a couple more sushi places, and they don't even compare.
