What a wonderful experience! We sat inside for brunch. The tables were set with charger plates in a way that made the room feel warm and inviting. The menu consisted of innovative revisions of comfort foods, and the service was great. We especially appreciated that each table was given a carafe of water. One of the guests at the table next to us had a support dog with her. The staff was so nice and treated them with so much respect, that I have to call it out. The server even brought the dog a small bowl of water. It made us smile, and we knew that the restaurant was an excellent choice for us.As avid foodies, we had heard about Chef Art Smith's signature fried chicken and waffles and decided to share that along with the fried chicken sandwich.I would give the fried chicken and waffles ten stars if I could. The chicken was perfect -- extremely juicy, with a coating that was both crispy and flavorful. The waffle was on the savory side, and the maple syrup, which was infused with rosemary, tied the whole dish together. My mouth waters just thinking about it.The fried chicken sandwich had an innovative slaw, and while the dish was very good, we've been thinking that on our next visit, we'll share another order of the chicken and waffles and one of the salads.As we were leaving, we were able to meet Chef Art Smith and thank him for the wonderful meal and great service.

This restaurant is perfect for any occasion. My boyfriend and I are frequent visitors (once every two weeks), and are consistently blown away by the customer service, ambiance, and quality of food.Highly recommend their cornbread--the best cornbread we ever had--and seating under the patio awning. Special shout out to Daisy and John for their lovely presence and service! They sweetly offered us champagne, desserts, and additional cocktails on the house for our 1 year anniversary.

Had the best meal at Blue Door and such an amazing place for a bachelorette brunch. Eunice A. was such a wonderful server and made sure to make things extra special for the bride!!! The blt was fire and was such a great late brunch meal. The espresso martinis were also delicious. Highly recommend for a special event or even just a casual brunch so perfect!

Quaint spot with lovely esthetics. We sat outside on the patio. Our server Maria was nice and accommodating and helpful with recommendations. The food was quite delicious. We prefer a little more salt with our food, but understand why the pallet was not necessarily on our salt preference. However, the food was flavorful, and the presentation was on point. Chef De Juan came out to speak with us about our experience. He explained that it was a new menu that was recently implemented. He was so pleasant and he is quite talented. Great experience overall!

Best restaurant in Chicago, maybe? I have had the privilege to dine at this establishment twice and both times have been 5 star experiences. It was so good I brought my Ma back. Atmosphere: you can't go wrong sitting inside or outside. Inside is a chic cottage vibe with an open kitchen. Outside is white light paradise. Service: from the hostess, to the server, to meeting the chef both times, the service here is impeccable. You never have to wait for anything and everyone is so nice! Food/drink: before I get to the food I believe the Smokey old fashioned needs a shout out. One of my favorites I've had. They smoke it tableside. Close your eyes and pick an entree because you can't go wrong..... but I'd probably suggest ordering the fried chicken. A dish I will dream about going back home to Texas. Parking seems to be pretty lucky on the street but there is always valet.

Really good food - the salmon was tasty, and love the cornbread and deviled eggs. The patio is very nice when the weather is good and there are plenty of heaters. You can depend on the restaurants on this block to always provide a good meal. On our most recent visit, the service was slow (especially since it was empty on a Sunday night), but we have generally had good waitstaff at Blue Door.

Went here on a beautiful summer day and the atmosphere in the outside patio/garden was unmatched. Such a quaint and homey restaurant inside with a spacious and green outside space, even better because it's on a quieter street compared to some of the local restaurants nearby, so no noise pollution! The food came second to the atmosphere, solid southern/creole. I would definitely recommend to visitors in Chicago!

The front window is covered with Michelin awards and the interior is super cute, so I had high expectations walking in.Came here for a work lunch and ordered the $24 Chicken and Waffles, which is front and center on the menu. Service was attentive, friendly and perfect.Chicken and waffles came out and the fried chicken was good. Maybe could use more seasoning. The waffle was a little underwhelming -- I'm sure it was fluffy coming out, but a deflated experience while eating.Waffles. Maybe it's because the chicken was served on top of the waffle?On a positive note, it is a good amount of food. I only finished half!

Had a lovely lunch here last week. Attentive service, beautiful salads, and deviled eggs to die for. Super cute vibe. Glad we stopped!
