I love how sustainably minded they are.The coffee is organic. This is hard to find at least in San Diego. I asked four coffee shops over the past two weeks and they didn't understand how coffee would be organic with the exception of Cuppa Cuppa drive through on Mission Gorge. My go to is Clairemont Coffee which offer organic beans. The baristas at Superbloom and Bay Park Coffee looked at me like I was crazy when I asked if their coffee was organic. The barista at Bay Park asked me isn't al coffee organic? It was a good opportunity to share what makes beans organic versus conventionally grown with harmful pesticides. The barista at Cuppa Cuppa did too but their menu board reflected organic coffee so I got my answer. I love that at Blue Bottle if you opt for dine in you're given actual dishware and silverware. Most often I'm still given disposable single use plastic cups, bowls, plated and silverware. On top of that their default milk is plant based, a delicious oatmilk. The food is fresh and tasty and the drinks are equally as delicious . The staff are all very friendly.

A barista just accused of stealing some really old beans an hour ago(roasted on November 29 2023). So....The cashier accidentally charged me not knowing I already had those beans for several months. No harm no foul there, it is just a simple mistake. Things went down hill when the supervisor or whatever tried to bring the hammer of justice onto my head; here's how it wentSupervisor: "where did you get those beans?!" with an accusatory voiceMe: I got them from my friend several months ago.Supervisor: "SHOW ME THE RECEIPT"Me: "I don't have the receipt, look at the roasting date"Supervisor: "NO! PUT THEM BACK" Cashier: ".....These beans were roasted on this date November 29,2023"Supervisor: "WELL! Those are too old *precedes to explain how I should buy a grinder."Me: "...Just give me those beans" Cashier: *hands me over the beansMe: "I didn't steal these btw" As I exited the entrance. Now, it is understandable to refuse to grind up my really old coffee beans (gifted from a friend). But, there is no need to accuse me of stealing, embarrassing both of us, cause a scene, and then lash out at me when you're in the wrong. He didn't even offer me a simple apology.Nice attempt at judgement, really bad call on your part. Thanks for ruining my day (yours included). 0/5 stars for you.

Blue Bottle has been so widely popular--you see it pretty much everywhere, especially if you're a coffee enthusiast, so I was super stoked to get to visit one of their cafes and not just order some coffee beans I can brew at home. The aesthetic of this coffee shop was definitely right up my alley--it was clean, minimalistic & modern. It was also very bright and pretty spacious inside with a good amount of seating. One thing I truly appreciated is that they made all their drinks with oat milk already--free of charge. So unless you prefer almond milk as an alternative (you pay an additional $1.25 for this), you get oat milk for free. What we tried:NOLA - we wanted the NOLA Shakerato, but unfortunately they didn't have them anymore when we visited, so the barista suggested just getting the NOLA instead. He said it's better than the Shakerato anyways--it's pretty much the same, the Shakerato is just the shaken version of it. The NOLA was alright; it had a slight hint of chicory, very creamy, and was not sweet at all. Sweet Latte - this one tasted just like your regular cup of homemade coffee. It was creamy, just a tad sweeter than the NOLA, and you taste the muscovado sugar that they used. It was very simple; nothing to write home about. Matcha Latte - this one was the most disappointing. You barely taste the matcha flavor at all and there was no sweetness either. It was pretty much like drinking a cup of green oat milk with a bit of a bitter, earthy aftertaste. There were three of us who tasted this drink and we all agreed that it wasn't up to par with the other matcha lattes we've tried at other cafes.Overall, I think you can make a better tasting cup of coffee at home and not spend $7-8. The coffee/matcha flavor in their drinks was barely there, as well as the sweetness. I guess that gives you more room to make your drink sweeter the way you want it to be, but sometimes you also just want your drink ready for a sip right when it comes out.

It took a while for me to try this place. If I don't go to la colombe I go to Blue bottle. I like the New Orleans, iced with oat milk. It's me go to when I'm there. The staff are always so nice. The space is nice with lots of indoor and outdoor seating.

Nice and spacious. A very aesthetic coffee shop. I like how you can sub out regular milk for oat milk free of charge! Worker was also super sweet!Matcha latte $6.50 (3/10): Their matcha latte wasn't my thing. Has bitter aftertaste, yet also lacks matcha flavor. Weirdly grainy. The price is also high for the cup size. The place is cool and it's a nice addition to UTC, but I'm more attracted to the aesthetic than the drinks.

One of my go-to spots for coffee! Blue Bottle Coffee is in the Westfield UTC mall close by to Pacific Catch. There is plenty of parking with free 2 hour parking. There was a line when coming in, but it moves very fast. The default milk is oat milk, which is perfect for those lactose intolerant. They have a variety of pastries, such as croissants, almond croissants, etc. as well as overnight oats and other treats! I got their Saffron Vanilla Latte, and it comes with such pretty art. Their croissant is also flakey and delicious. You can grab lids and napkins at the little stand by the side. You can also buy cups/mugs, which I thought was really cute. There are some seats inside and outdoor, however it is somewhat noisy so I wouldn't recommend it for studying.

I know a lot of people rave about this place and I get why, but I also think you're better off going to another coffee place with better coffee that isn't $8 a cup.I've been here a few times and have ordered multiple things, out of all of those I've only liked the Nola Shakerato. I also tend to like sweeter coffees and most of their coffees aren't to me. I can totally see why some people who like their coffee not as sweet would like it here though. What's really nice is the oat milk default with every drink, but it's still more expensive than going to another coffee place and asking for an oat milk substitute. Not a study or work friendly cafe in my opinion too.

I've been here several times now. On my latest visit, I had a cortado and their Liège waffle. The cortado was pretty good up front but had a touch of acidity that I did not care for. The Liège waffle was very good. it was crispy and had good texture to it, and not to mention subtle sweetness about it. It has great color too. Customer service was friendly enough. I did think, however, that it could have been friendlier. This blue bottle offers inside and outside seating and is located at Westfield UTC Mall.
