Although I've had black market pastries at other locations, I was excited to actually try the actual location.The bakery is beautiful. It's decorated superbly and the selections and menu seem tasty.My friend and I got in line figured out what we wanted and opted to split a gobbler sandwich and add a cookie.The counter the gal told us that there were no cookies available when we asked about how long it would take for the cookies to be refreshed, she checked with the baker and we were told 2 to 3 hours.Not once did she offer any type of alternative. Although she was polite about it, it pretty much felt like a "no cookie for you" situation and we were unable to take advantage of the special. We ordered our sandwich, sat down and started to chat. 15 minutes later still no sandwich... And I began watching the counter and watching people go through... Many got their order. 25 minutes from the time of ordering still no sandwich.So I walked up to the counter and asked about how much longer our sandwich is gonna take because we've been waiting over 20 minutes already... The guy was so rude! He pretty much told us that it would be another 5 to 10 minutes and I asked him if waiting over 30 minutes for a sandwich was a regular practice... He got really snippy and snarky with me and basically said yes...OK... So after 35 minutes we finally got our sandwich. So, the bakery is beautiful and the food is quite tasty... The service is highly lacking and I won't be returning.

On a recent meeting w/a friend ,we decided to once again go to Blackmarket Bakery. Much better this time around!There's a "brunch" menu & a "breakfast" menu---or something like that. ..& a bit different pricing, & fuller sandwiches----& The BLAT I ordered this time was a toasted croissant--- stuffed with bacon, arugula, avo, tomato & mayo. Wow, lots of stuff, very delicious. I'd definitely say they redeemed themselves after a skimpy breakfast ham & cheese croissant on my first visit.

Bought a birthday cake that was the perfect size for a family of four. A 4 inch total eclipse cake. It was small in diameter but pretty tall. The only critique I would have is I wish it was packaged in a cake box that fit the cake. The cake itself was so rich with the chocolate Fudge on the outside, the moist chocolate cake, and the chocolate mousse were the perfect balance. Make sure you give yourself at least three days in advance to order in time for pick up.

This was my first visit and I am definitely glad I stopped in. The dessert choices here are pretty awesome and so beautiful to look at. I tried the fruit tart after a wonderful explanation of flavors from the very kind woman at the counter. It had a chocolate ganache, lovely fruit including strawberries, blackberries and blueberries and a light cream. My friend tried the bread pudding which I was able to taste as well and it was delicious and the frosting on top so smooth. In my group we also tried the cheesecake with caramel and the scone all were gobbled up. Oh and the blackberry lemonade was very good with lots of flavor. We were also able to try the iced tea and matcha all very nice and refreshing. Would definitely return for more.

Got a few pastries and a breakfast sandwich from here and it was pretty solid. BREAKFAST SANDWICH - forget the name precisely but it has hash browns and bacon and it's on a croissant, which wow. It was really good and delicious. Def a bit heavy, but really really great texture and everything inside the sandwich was flavorful in just the right complementary ways in both flavor and texture.Pastries were good, and definitely executed very well. Surprisingly, I liked the POP TART the best, even though I was afraid it'd be a little underbaked since it seemed a bit pale. The matcha pie was also quite delicious, and had a beautifully soft texture. The scone was also pretty solid. Would def say this place is worth a visit, and if you can stay they have a fair amount of seating as well.

Fun local bakery with creative pastries and great coffee. We tried 4 of their croissants, all different and all fantastic. The coffee was quick and strong and had homemade syrups. Line was long, but moved quickly. Lots of outdoor and indoor seating and plenty of quiet space to work from. Each pastry was around $4-9 and coffees were $3-8.

Great spot for good food and for children! We met up with some college friends yesterday and we were so pleased. I especially loved the back patio with lots of seating, sun and activities for little ones so you can potentially eat in peace for 2.5 seconds. I ordered the gobbler and LOVED IT!! It was more like a panini as it was quite skinny. But very flavorful. The apples, and cranberries really got me! Service was good. We got our order fairly fast but our friends waited a loooooong time. Apparently the printer never printed their food order and no one noticed. Our friends had to go in and check and then they realized the snafu.

-Fantastic coffee & cozy atmosphere- Honestly one of the best coffee shops I've been to in a while, seems like good coffee is hard to find now a days. Every single dessert I got from trying each tart to their coconut chai pie (by far the best pie I've had) was delicious. & might I say the baristas are so sweet & inviting. This spot is definitely worth the visit!!

Blackmarket is still a fast casual favorite of mine and my hubby's. Their outdoor space is wonderful, especially in the early mornings when it's cool and quiet outside. We ordered almost the same exact thing we always do because it's hard to top it. We ordered the cinnamon roll for something sweet, the jalapeño cheddar croissant for something spicy, and the Hot Potato breakfast sandwich for something savory and salty. The croissant is our favorite and is filled with jalapeño, cheddar cheese, and cream cheese. Think of it as a jalapeño popper but a million times better. The cinnamon roll is a classic with a gooey center which you can't go wrong with. The hot potato sandwich was a crowd pleaser because of the crispy hash brown inside soaking up the runny egg yolk, which was made to feel lighter and cut through the grease with the pickled onions. The staff is always friendly and helpful, space clean, and food and drinks top notch.
