Blackbird Seattle

Inside there's a note (signage) that says Blackbird is Seattle's best dessert 2020-2021 I believe. Wasn't able to find any information about this elsewhere so might be self proclaimed. Cool to think about, if it's real though. Walk in and order on a kiosk, owner(?) is super friendly. Few cakes were sold out but tiramisu restocked, so it's pretty popular! High price point but deliciously creamy cakes. Drinks aren't bad but boba is not that good. I'd skip the drinks and opt for dessert.Oolong Milk Tea w/ Boba - a center point between green and black teas, oolong has it's own flavor. I'd describe this as a midpoint of green and black tea with a hint of milk. The tea flavor is strong with a little creaminess but definitely leans more towards the tea than milk in milk tea. Boba is super chewy but flavorless.Jasmine Milk Tea w/ Boba - green tea with a splash of milk, so very strong. Similar to above, leans more towards tea than milk in the milk tea. Tasted pretty freshly brewed. Boba was chewy but lacked flavor.Tiramisu Mille Crepe Cake (2) - tiramisu is a pretty standard flavor but Blackbird enhances it. It's more tiramisu than the typical, flavor being stronger and more coffeelike. Creamy delicious as well, super soft.Durian Mille Crepe Cake - if you like durian, you probably love all durian desserts. You'll like this one. Soft creamy cake with durian taste all over. Top was more frosting-like than the powder in other cakes.Matcha Mille Crepe Cake - matcha powder on top with matcha throughout the cake, the cake is like eating tea and honestly pairs pretty well with drinks here. Tea with tea, but both edible and drinkable.In summary, drinks lean towards freshly brewed tea flavors which are good. Boba as a topping was not that good. Cakes were creamy and delicious but a steep price point.

Self order tablet made ordering easy and there are tables inside to sit at while you wait. Ordered a couple drinks, which were both more milk heavy than we would have preferred but still good.I also got a couple desserts from the dessert cabinet. Earl grey crepe cake and a Signature Souffle Cheesecake - both were good! Very light and not too sweet of a dessert.

A small shop with some indoor seating available. When you come in, there is a counter to see the available pastries and a couple of self-ordering tablets to make your order. The service for pastries is quick because it is just taken straight out of the counter to be served. Hojicha Mille Crepe Cake: The hojicha flavor in this was very very subtle, you would have to look for it to taste it. The sweetness was perfect though, it was not too sweet at all. It's recommended that we let the cake sit out for a bit before eating to let the cream soften a bit, but it was still tasty when we were too impatient to wait. Overall, I'm looking forward to coming back and trying some other mille crepe cake flavors!

Honestly, I'm kind of waiting for Blackbird to finish its rental term and kindly leave. they're non competitive compared to share tea next door and their desserts are nothing special. Every time I look, no one is in the store. The few times I've been, the desserts don't look fresh and are overpriced. I gave it a few chances but honestly I think it's a waste of a perfectly good retail location next to Sharetea. Can it be turned into a Taiwanese cafe or Gimbap shop? Waiting for a turn over here...

Cute little shop we stumbled upon while in Bellevue trying to find a place close by to get bubble tea after brunch. To our surprise, this shop was right next to Sharetea. They do not only sell bubble/milk tea here. They also sell various desserts and coffee. Definitely more café like than a bubble/milk tea shop. From the outside, the shop does not look that big, but it is quite spacious inside. It would be a nice, quiet place if you need a place to get some work/studying done. The Honey Lemon Jasmine Tea was quite refreshing and just the right amount of sweetness I was looking for. My friend got the Grape Cheezo and was surprised by how much they liked the drink. Not pictured, my boyfriend got a Matcha Latte that was piping hot! Even an hour later, his drink was still warm on that gloomy Sunday afternoon.

This is my favorite bubble tea shop in all of Bellevue. The bubble tea is not too sweet, and the boba taste very fresh. I like to get the Oolong tea with Boba, 25% sweetness. However, if you are feeling like having a coffee then I highly recommend trying their coffee bubble tea. They use real espresso and the result is delicious. I love to stop by here after visiting the library.

Known for their crepe cakes, they have a wide selection of flavors as well as other dessert choices like soufflé cheesecake, along with drinks such as coffee and tea. $9 + tax gives quite a small slice but that seems to be the market price like Lady M. Unlike other reviews (glad I read them in advance), there's no mention of leaving the cake room temperature for 10-20min so the first bite tasted powdery and somewhat unpleasant. However, leaving it to room temperature made it a lot better, kind of like melt in the mouth. I ended up enjoying the last few bites of the cake. We specifically got the black sesame flavor to share, and it was satisfyingly sweet for such a small slice. The flavor is quite apparent, but you can also taste the cream as well. There's definitely a lot more cream than the crepe which made it hearty. Presentation is a bit lacking as they now operate as solely takeout, which made it a bit suboptimal to take good pictures on the go; I hope they are able to have dine in at some point. It would've been at least good to have the blackbird logo on top so that the picture looks more aesthetic, like past reviews. Also the box is so plain looking; it was just a white box with no logo or message, so they no longer put as much thought to design as they used to.

I got the souffle cheesecake. While it wasn't as fluffy and jiggly as some of the other similar japanese cheesecakes I've had, it was very moist and soft.

Summary: DoorDashed their Signature Soufflé Cheesecake ($12.40) as a late night snack haha. It was a delicious cheesecake, but rather small (think the size of a grapefruit), and made like a Japanese style cheesecake than American.Can't speak to the service or ambiance, aside from that it arrived to my place safelyI'll definitely be trying their passion fruit cheesecake next timePros:* super tasty, flavorful, moist Japanese style cheesecake Cons:* on the smaller size, more of a one person serving

I had the worst cramps and abdominal discomfort after having their tea. I'm very dairy intolerant and was asking and confirming with the sales lady to make sure my tea had no diary before ordering it. She RE-assured me that my tea is dairy free and even showed an agressive attitude when I told her I'm not at all dairy tolerant and to please make sure my tea has no dairy. Terrible service and products. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AR ALL.
