Black Dog Gelato stands out as one of the best places to go for a sweet treat in the Wicker Park/Ukranian Village area. Their flavor combinations are fun and inventive- for example, their Goat Cheese Cashew Caramel is a creamy classic. They also have a variety of dairy free options that taste very similar to the real deal.Service is always great, the staff are nice and seem like they genuinely enjoy working there (I would too if it means I'm surrounded by delicious Gelato). It's a hole in the wall spot with limited seating inside, so be sure to take your Gelato on the go. While some may say the price is a little steep for your portion, I think the taste and the quality of the Gelato well make up for it.

Inventive flavors are one of the hallmarks of Black Dog. Their quality is very high. Prices are good, serving size is perfect. They have some of the flavors you would expect, and some you wouldn't. Their strawberry and balsamic is a great example.They also sell excellent large cookies and brownies. There are pre-packed pints available at reasonable prices. No room to dine in, so they are especially popular when the weather is great because they have ample outdoor seating.

Black dog gelato was pretty ok! Ours melted pretty quickly but it could've just been the Chicago heat. My favorite was the Italian cookie gelato. There's no indoor seating so that's something to keep in mind but the location near other Ukrainian village restaurants is pretty ideal if you want to grab desert here

Nice! Good flavor options. We got the dairy free chocolate, which was suuuuper good chocolate. And we got the old fashioned flavor, which i had never had before. Fun to try! There were other good flavors we were choosing between--it was a tough call with so many good options. Good service, good vibes. Small inside, basically just a grab n go spot. Seating outside is good too

Cute little gelato shop with unique flavors! The service is friendly and the gelato tastes super creamy and high quality. The blueberry French toast was delicious and the kids cone was a good serving size. Would definitely go back to try other flavors!

This is one of the best dessert shops in Chicago with exceptional gelato. My wife and I were extremely indecisive on our first trip to Black Dog but the attendant was super patient and extremely nice in letting us sample a number of their different flavors. I settled on the goat cheese caramel and popcorn flavors and both were excellent. The goat cheese definitely had a unique taste but not over-powering. The popcorn was also fun with chunks of popcorn mixed in. Definitely check this place out when you're in Wicker Park!

Gelato is just as popular as ice cream around here. If looking for the best this is one of the original places. Black Dog Gelato has been here and done that as far as frozen desserts. Prices are high because of course they are so fuck it. Try some anyway because it's some cool stuff. Because it was hot I needed to cool off so I stopped in. It's about $6 for a regular cup, which is a lot. That's as in the price, but they fit a lot in the cup as well. Lots of flavors to choose from. Some non dairy, and I got the Dairy Free Lemon Passionfruit. Cool flavors. This was both sour and sweet. Could have gotten more but it's expensive. That's the only bad thing about it. Head to the Ukrainian Village one because the other closed. It's all good except for the prices. The cool thing is there's non dairy choices, and you can get to go pints if you want some for later, and per ounce it's more value.

Great gelato sport with some very unique flavors. The staff was so nice allowing me and my boyfriend to sample before we picked our flavors and answering any questions we had. The inside is very small but they have a clear menu and a few things like merch to buy. I got a kids birthday cake scoop and it was delicious. Can't wait to go back!
