When I hear that a local bar is one of the " Top Bars in America" officially, they better be on their cocktail game! Turns out they are!So I was a bit overwhelmed by the cocktail menu with like seven levels of mixology Nirvana and about 101 selections. So after conversing with Nick we decided the Unsung Hero as a great place to start. It is! Bitter and complex with soft finishes. Great Bartenders, hard to find, should also be Great Conversationalists! We were joined by Steve another Mixologist! Watching these guys eloquently purvey their libations to this evenings guests was a treat. The passion is evident by the skill level of their trade and the style of their delivery! I followed up with a Dark Manhattan and to my agreement Steve felt the Old Forester Rye was a perfect choice! It was! There is a dining area in another wing and the dishes I saw looked and smelled amazing! Definite must stop in the Phoenix Downtown area!

We left another cocktail bar to try this one based on word of mouth. It was a total win. The bar back that greeted us when we were sat at the bar was FULL of energy and truthfully was someone we would come back and visit. The bartender that helped us did recommend a couple drink options based off what I like AND nailed it but he had RBF all night and appeared super annoyed. Could be he was busy or having an off night but ultimately your job is to be engaging with the people at your bar and when you compare the energy between the bar back and bartender, I personally wanted to sit there with the bar back who made us feel so welcome. This place is low lit, loud and tons of drink/food options. We had ate dinner prior but opted for the popcorn (must try, don't judge) The drink menu is vast and beautifully done. We will come back to try more of the menu.

Sure, here's a review based on your points:I've been coming to this bar for years, and it's always a fantastic experience, especially for a girls' night out. The drinks are consistently great and generously sized. The music adds to the vibrant atmosphere, making everyone feel welcomed. Highly recommend!

Came here for the drinks, which have a fun little menu to pick out what you want, and actually got the grilled cheese bites which were fantastic. The bartenders Vance and Sam were a great pair as well. They were very friendly and incredibly kind to talk to and discuss drinks with. The spot was chill and the ambience was very relaxing. Will bring friends here whenever I can.

Had the chance to visit Bitter & Twisted last night with a group of 10 before an event at the Footprint Center. Bottom line is we had a great experience! The reservation process was easy and the table was ready 10 mins early. The vibe inside was great and the location is walking distance from a lot of things downtown. The cocktail menu was enormous and every drink ordered was out of this world. The menu is not large but all items were excellent. But above all else was the service. Everyone was professional and had great attitudes. The drinks and food were out in record time. This staff is trained well and made us feel special. This is definitely a place we would visit again and I give it my highest recommendation

What better way would there be than to cheers to 800 reviews on Yelp than at a gorgeous cocktail bar! Hip hip hooray! My friends mentioned visiting this place and from the exterior it looked fairly standard. It was not until we walked in and were presented the menus that I was awestruck! Additionally, our server Desiree (sorry if misspelled) was so friendly and offered suggestions. She quickly put in our food order while we continued our pursuit for the perfect cocktail. The house cut spiced fries + house sesame ranch were freshly made and out of this world! And at a great price point in my opinion for the quality ($11 + $1 for the sesame ranch). My friends grabbed a meat dish that I did not try, but they said the flavors were on point (Korean Nachos). Love that they have a great menu of small bites to enjoy while you partake in a cocktail. As for drinks, I had the Love Fruit Medley and loved the fruity sweetness of the cocktail. Perfect for a hot summer night in June. My friends all loved their drink, but one. He did bring up to Desiree and she quickly whisked it away to replace. What exceptional service as life is too short to suffer through a beverage you don't like! Appreciate the exceptional service even when a small hiccup occurs. I can't stop raving about this place to a few other friends, so I'm sure I'll return soon!

Nestled within the historic Luhrs Building in downtown Phoenix, Bitter & Twisted Cocktail Parlour pays homage to its past as the former Arizona Prohibition Headquarters by transforming into a haven of innovative libations and delectable bar fare. This establishment stands as a beacon for those seeking a refined and chic imbibing experience, boasting an internationally acclaimed cocktail program, repeatedly hailed for its distinction as the "World's Best Cocktail Menu." During our visit, we had the pleasure of indulging in their new menu. Each meticulously crafted drink not only delighted the palate but also epitomized the spirit of the season, showcasing impeccable balance and imaginative flair. Notably, every libation arrived in a distinct mug tailored to match the thematic essence of the drink, adding an extra touch of creativity. Bitter & Twisted unequivocally earns its stripes as a must-visit destination for enthusiasts of exceptional cocktails and a refined drinking ambiance.

My husband and I went to Bitter & Twisted for a family members birthday. Unfortunately, this was the same night as a Diamondbacks game so parking was a little tricky and pricey! Although it is not a reflection of the bar, $30 was steep considering we hadn't even ordered a drink yet. From the garage it was quick 1 min walk to the door where we had our ID's checked. The man working security was nice but warned us that because our party was so large, about 13 people, we could only split the check 4 ways. I appreciated him letting us know, and we walked in. I was surprised how empty it was for a Friday night but maybe it's because it was fairly early (6:30-8:30PM). Our "large" party was in a private room directly to the left. My first impression was that the decor was eclectic, funky, and it felt like a lounge. Unfortunately, the seating in the small room was uncomfortable, and after the seats against the wall were taken up, everyone else had to sit on a stool. The room was also very warm. There was a floor fan blowing and when I asked for another fan the waitress said they didn't have anymore. I understand that this lovely brick building is old and summertime in AZ is no joke so it wasn't a big deal. Our party was there before us and had already ordered quite a few fun looking drinks and food. The gal sitting next to me ordered a fun cocktail with a kitten on it and someone else ordered a drink that came in a bear honey bottle. The creativity was off the charts and it was a unique experience. The reason for my less than 5 stars is due to the price. I ordered a Tiramisu cocktail which was lovely and tasty but it was $16. I understand it is a specialty drink but I don't think it was worth the price. My husband ordered a beer which I believe was about $11. Again, I think everything was yummy but overpriced. I didn't try the food but everyone said it was delicious. For my vegan friends, there are buffalo cauliflower wings that you can request be made vegan. Finally, I love a good clean bathroom and the facilities were just that. Very roomy, clean, and well decorated.I don't think I will return to Bitter and Twisted but encourage anyone looking for a unique experience, and willing to spend a pretty penny to check it out for themselves.

Great bar with friendly, helpful and expert bartenders. The bar has an old time feel, with contemporary staff who are engaging and ready to share info on almost any topic. The bartender jumped at the chance to make me a Smoked Old Fashioned and it was the best I've had, to date. This bar is one of, if not the, best cocktail bars in AZ!

My husband and I stopped in here on a Friday night after going to a comedy show. The ambiance and feel of this place is top tier. It feels very exclusive once you are inside. The menu for their drinks is like something you've never seen before! The server was very nice and recommended this watermelon flavored cocktail to me to try and it was very delicious and refreshing. I would certainly recommend that you stop in here for a couple drinks on a date night with your person!! We will be back.
