Birrieria La Loteria has good from Food truck to Brick in Mortar with this location in Imperial Beach. Don't get me wrong, they still have the food truck in Lemon Grove, but it's good to see a small business expanding.On this visit, I had a pair of tacos dorados de birria or hard shell beef birria tacos with all the fixings. The tacos were terrific, and I loved the crunch each corn tortilla offered. The beef birria inside was tender, juicy, and quite flavorful. The tacos also came with chopped white onions and cilantro.The pickled onions and chopped habanero peppers on the side were very good and great to add to each taco. Great tacos.The service was very friendly and welcoming. They offer inside and outside seating.

We chose this small family restaurant because of its (so far) three 5-star reviews. We were not disappointed. The restaurant has 5 tables and a small counter and is in a small strip mall. It is clean with pinata decor. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed, and the daughter of the owners(?) at the register was excited to tell us about the food and offer recommendations. Our food was excellent and she brought us different salsas and sauces to try, with her suggestions for each. Both owners came out at different times to check on us and thank us. We felt the value was good, and the tacos larger than simple street tacos, with the specialty varieties priced higher. There were included small sides like soup and pickled onions. We had a marlin taco, spicy shrimp taco and a birria quesataco. All were excellent and flavorful, if a little messy to eat from small paper baskets. The agua frescas were also stand-out. We had a lovely pecan & coconut drink, and also a lime drink which was perfectly (only slightly) sweet. This is a great quick spot for quality, creative food. We only wish we were local so we could come back.

Staff was so friendly and welcoming. The food was so flavorful and delicious. My new go-to spot!

Loved our whole experience!!! From the food to the best service, this place is a hit. The fish tacos were so crunchy ask for their cilantro cream salsa it was incredible. Birria quesa taco was crunchy it's rare where you can find crunchy birria tacos. Every person who works there was so friendly. They checked on us constantly. I didn't order something to drink they brought me a water. The nicest!!!

The food here was amazing! You don't ever have to worry about the food being cold, it was super hot trust me. Birria was nice and hot and tastes amazing. The service here is great aswell! We came in and was greeted with a smile and even made some conversation, hard to find people that amazing now. And don't even get me started on the place, the decorations were so creative and so cool to look at!. I'f you dont want birria then they have many other options, hope you try it!

Dear lord where do I start! Ok 1st thing that captivated me was the customer service! From the moment you walk in the door every worker there treats you like family. Extremely kind, caring and attentive to all your needs. Now let's talk about the food... I ordered three entrees the quesabirria, el birria grilled cheese sandwich, & the La mulita each entree is a 10/10 no exaggeration! You can't go wrong with anything you order here everything is delicious and has you excited for your next meal there. This might be a new spot to eat but trust me when I say they have made their mark and are here to stay! Food, service, ambiance is all a 10 for 10 forget a 5!

The food is top notch good. The service was impeccable. The vibe of the place is unmatched! Such cute decorations!This place does not disappoint!!! Large portions and tons of flavor! I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu!
