Bird Rock Coffee Roasters - Waterfront

We were told to visit Bird Rock Coffee Roasters on our trip to San Diego this weekend, so we stopped on our way out of town. First impression: this place smells AMAZING. The smell - beautifulThe location - Great!The ambiance - Exactly what I would want in a business building! If I was a local, then I would choose Bird Rock as my go to work location!The service - Amazing! The team that worked Sunday morning was great. They took care of us and had very welcoming personalities. We did not try the food, but the coffee was great! I had the dirty Chai, and my boyfriend tried the nitro cold brew. He said it was strong, but incredibly good. Lastly, on our way out there was a gentleman who had his hands full, so I held the door open for him. Unfortunately, he dropped his hot coffee and his food. One of the employees ran after him and assisted him immediately. She also insisted on remaking his entire order. AMAZING SERVICE! I highly recommend visiting this location if you have a chance!

I'm always a fan of Bird Rock and I love that this location was conveniently located in the same building as the Spaces. Perfect to grab a caffeinated drink during a busy day working. Service was friendly and quick. I ordered my usual matcha latte and appreciate that they always ask if you want it sweetened or not. I took my drink to go but I loved the big open space they have here!

Stopped by for some local coffee while working out of the San Diego office and found Bird Rock to be very delicious and welcoming! The vibe here is swanky and modern, very fitting for this fun Little Italy district. The Sandpiper has roasted hazelnuts flavors in it, and honestly it could've used slightly more hazelnut, but still tasty. My coworker had the Iced Vanilla Bean latte which she really enjoyed.They have nice interior / exterior seating which is really nice to get some work done and meet up with some friends or have business meetings. It's a great space for all occasions. Not sure about WiFi or outlets.Will come back again if I'm in SD!

Located Bird Rock while visiting sunny San Diego and it did not disappoint! I got an iced vanilla latte and iced cinnamon honey latte both with oat milk and one of their breakfast sandwich. The breakfast sandwich is delicious, it is on a brioche bun but it is slightly spicy so be aware. The inside is industrial looking with lots of bar seating options with open windows and other cushioned chairs. They also had a notebook at the bar w/ canyons and you write what you're grateful for, so wholesome loved it! I would definitely keep something like this at a place of business this really helps bring culture and community to the place. The service was fast and the worker recommended popular items. One star off just due to difficulty reading the menu without my glasses, I would recommend having the same menu up at the front by the register. They did have their drink menu by the register but not the food I had to ask the server what it said. Overall, I loved their latte and food options, I recently tried Spill the Beans in downtown but felt like Bird Rock espresso and oat milk is BETTER in my opinion. I already want to try this place again and wish they had one by my area!

Bird Rock is such an SD staple! I don't really drink coffee, but I do love a good matcha, so my boyfriend and I stopped by here on a Friday morning before brunch. I just got the Matcha Latte and my boyfriend got the Honey B Latte. I absolutely loved my Matcha Latte. You can tell they use good quality matcha and the latte was so smooth and not too sweet. The Honey B Latte was also SO good. Absolutely loved the cinnamon-forward notes in this drink and it also wasn't too sweet. This location is also stunning with all the natural lighting and windows. They also had a community gratitude journal on the counter, which people could write in, and that was fun to read. Such a thoughtful addition!

Bird Rock is the best coffee chain in San Diego. I frequent the one in Liberty Station and this one is just as good. They have quality espresso and any drink that has espresso is going to be great. I always get the flat white because it cannot be beat by another coffee shop. They are conveniently located by waterfront and in a business building. They don't have much seating but it's just enough to meet up with a friend and chat. The employees are top notch and know what they are doing. Great service, great ambiance.

If you need a quick pick me up this is definitely an option. They were quick to answer any question I had & they made my drink relatively quick. I ordered a honey cinnamon latte, the latte itself was a 4.5 as I couldn't really taste the honey. The location itself is really nice, it is quiet enough to study or read a book.

Great coffee and good service! Clean, large area - a lot of WFH types sitting in comfy chairs. Good Breakfast sandwiches and delicious lattes.

It pains me to say this, but Bird Rock Coffee has gone downhill. I was the biggest advocate of this coffee shop but in the last few years they've departed from quality and only increased price significantly. The consistency of espresso based drinks is highly variable, with the flat white often ending up extremely hot and foamy... The waterfront location is gorgeous! They rented this really beautiful space for super cheap, but they do a poor job of keeping it clean! It's always dirty, tons of crap on the floor, couches covered in crumbs, paper scraps, dirt, coffee stains. I really wish they'd take care of this place better. I will say, the staff is awesome and friendly. Always personable and easy to talk to.
