Bird Rock Coffee Roasters

Adore bird rock always, and love the consistent quality of the coffee across all locations. My one gripe is the WiFi has consistently not worked in the three times I've attempted to work in this location. Not sure if this is just growing pains or if something needs to be resolved, but hoping it can get fixed soon since this location is so convenient for working from.

Bird Rock Torrey pines is a go-to study spot so I was thrilled when this location opened closer to me. Friendly service, drinks are the same quality as the Torrey Pines spot, and plenty of seating for studying!! Glad to see this spot open, and glad to get both my fix of fun drinks and focused work time.

Though I'm a big fan of Bird Rock, this specific location has some work to do. The wait was long but it was a busy morning so I don't entirely fault them for that. But I watched as three different people touched the process of making my drink, and then had to keep asking each other what it was. They then just chatted while working instead of staying focused on getting through what was now an insanely long line out the door. With better communication and management, this place could run smoother and more successfully. Because in the end, I left with a drink that wasn't what I ordered or paid for, meaning I paid for something that cost more than what I actually received. By then, I had to get back home so I just left, knowing I most likely won't be back to this location for a long while, until they've hopefully strengthened their work flow.

I arrived at 11:00 am and was the only one there for a few minutes. Amanda was very friendly and made me feel welcome. Connor was an awesome barista teaching me a few things about alternative milks. Although the matcha itself wasn't delicious, the presentation and service were impeccable.

the matcha is NOT GOOD do not get it i've had matcha at other bird rocks but this one was sour and i think the oat milk has gone bad. the employees here are rude and will talk over you to their fellow employees instead of helping you at the counter. it sucks because it's so close to school, so it could be nice but it was overall not a great experience. only upside is that it's bright and airy with plenty of seating if you're looking for that. just don't get the matcha
