Bijan's

The reviews were very mixed but I had a nice evening and meal here! We came on a Saturday night fairly early before an orchestra show, it was quite empty and we got seated immediately. I was tickled by the bird decor, so funny but not obnoxious. We had two of the chicken sandwiches, one spicier and both were solid, not what would bring me back but very acceptable. What would bring me back you ask? THE FRIES. I don't even like fries most of the time (unless crinkle cut) but these were AMAZING. Sort of like a think peel off a potato and deep fried. Not skins. And a thicker slice than my potato peeler at home would give me. So idk how they do it but I am getting hungry just remembering these. Also the burrata salad was great, lots of interesting ingredients and a good portion. I guess this will be my go to when I need fries and a salad OR have a bird obsessed friend visiting.

Visited for their "Buy a drink and get $1 chicken sandwich" deal and was impressed. Loved the decor, the service was quick and attentive, and the chicken sandwich was pretty tasty. I plan to return for brunch as the couple beside us looked like regulars and their food looked amazing! I came early and it was starting to get packed but not extremely noisy, definitely a plus!

We went to Bijan's for a late night bite. They seem to be one of the few restaurants in River North offering food late at night. They had a variety of items on their menu. I was happy to see a few vegetarian and vegan items as well. Given that it was late, this food was much healthier and more elevated than others that would be open at that time. It was pretty affordable as well. Would recommend you to check it out

I had a very pleasant time at Bijan's! It used to be owned by someone else prior to Covid, but now they re-open under new ownership and the food in decor are great.The staff was so kind and polite. The waiter made jokes with us and was personable.People came in and out but a few parties stayed and drank and ate and it was never to loud to hear someone talk. That's a great thing!The decor is a tropical paradise with a theme of a jailbird. Very playful like literally bird Bijan who went to jail and his portrait can be seen on the way in. I think it's fun and the menu carries on the theme in the name of the dishes.We got... Mocktails (ruby ravenade and mockingbird mule) Cauliflower Beet it salad Steak sandwich Chicken wings Signature fries Tuxedo wild mushroom and black truffle pasta CornbreadOkay so the main event is the food! Their food was crazy tender like some sort of sorcery. Especially going from different dishes, and they can keep different kinds of bread, soft warm, and tender, but also make sure that all these different meats are cooked to tender. Some mastery here! I know I won't be hurting the top of my mouth with some stale bread here ever.They are open til 4am with food and drink and have brunch! Be sure to check them out!

My roommates and I wanted to have a thanksgiving meal together since our families aren't close by. We found this place online that was open thanksgiving day and we made reservations! The host was super nice he let us pick where we wanted to sit so we sat in a booth. It was all super cute with an emerald green and bird theme. The booth was emerald velvet (super comfy) and the whole place was just very aesthetically pleasing. Our waitress was also super sweet she gave us drink recommendations (which is why I can't remember the name of mine just that it was a spicy marg!) and they were all so good we each got two. I ordered the gnocchi for my meal which also tasted amazing! The whole place- atmosphere, staff, food was a vibe! Will definitely be back :)

Second visit. Couldn't help repeating the Regal Burger I had last time - and it didn't disappoint. Juicy, fresh and delicious. And I'm loving the house made fries. Next up, bringing my friends

Directly across the street from our hotel, so after a long flight we decided to give it a try. Unclear what they are going for here. The place doesn't really have an identity. Had a few TVs with sports on but it's not really a sports bar. No hostess when we walked in so we seated ourselves. Server, who was very friendly, came over after about five minutes and we had to ask her to bring us some menus. Ordered from their cocktail menu. Drinks were good, not great. My wife got a tuna salad while I opted for a burger. Burger was solid: two patties, very juicy, house sauce was tasty. Interesting fries, sort of a hybrid of a fry and a chip, aggressively salted which I like. My wife was disappointed with her salad. At the $18 price point, one is expecting an entree sized salad, but what she got was the size of a side salad. There was a surprising lack of greens and not a lot of tuna. Though tasty, it was underwhelming. The overall experience was closer to 3.5 stars but I'm giving them a half bonus point for the music which was all my fav songs from the 80's. Note the music is quite loud, it was difficult to hear our server, which might be off putting to some.

Stumbled onto this spot when other late night options weren't available. First glance, very nice bar, good atmosphere, and put together decor.I tried the chicken sandwich, which was delicious, after being advised by the bartender to stay away from the wings. I didn't listen, I should have. The wings are extremely overpriced, and I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy. They're terrible. Whoever source those wings need to be fired. But other than that the staff is real cool, and a great place to grab a drink, and a bite, if late night and wanted to hang with coworkers or friends. I recommend it. Just like I said, stay away from the wings. Lol.

So I remember going to Bijan's before the closing and reopening & let's just say this is the totally new place & menu just with the same name. a lot of the signature and staple items that were on the previous menu are no longer on there which is probably what brings the original customers back. they'll be in for surprise though... The barbecue salmon, calamari & so many other amazing dishes are no longer available. So we visited there yesterday night and let's just say it was a waste of time and money. The wings were terrible! They tasted as if they were freezer burnt and dropped in the fryer. They were supposed to be hot wings but They're actually naked wings slightly drizzled with some type of sauce. The wagyu burger & fries were good. All in all it's not the same Bijan's. Disappointed.

Absolutely horrible service! I would never recommend this place to anyone! Not even my worst enemy! My food came out cold and I was told they couldn't remake it! I asked to speak to the chef concerning the food and I was told he was militant! And me being a Retired Veteran, I am very militant! I'm not sure if that was to intimidate me or not. Then it was mentioned the chef is the owner. And as an owner you would want the customer to have a pleasant experience. I asked for salt and pepper and they brought me some sort of dry blue cheese! This wasn't what I expected! I actually recommend this spot! But I would never come here nor recommend this place again!
