Big W Food Truck

Wow this food is good! Oh man. I had the split sausage sandwich that had the BEST mustard, cheese and pickles and it was FANTASTIC! My boyfriend got their fish fry and he consumed that with the gusto of a hound dog haha. My mother in law got the pulled pork and she said it was good :) 10/10 would recommend this to anyone!

Now it's a restaurant in the same center as Goose Community Center. Still the same great sandwiches. Sausage sandwich was great and so was the burger.

Smoked chicken wings for the WIN!!!! This is the spot now next to The Goose Community Grocer, I am obsessed with the wings and my friend said the baked beans are sooo good too! Thank you!

The food truck now has an established restaurant, occupying what used to be Neil's in Bayview, next to the Goose and Sebo's. We had a pick up pizza before they were able to sit people inside the restaurant. The pizza was amazing, great crust (not too thin not too thick), piping hot, spectacular toppings--the white one, can't remember the name. Unfortunately, they have stopped making pizza and moved full throttle into their Americana menu. It's not a kind of food that excites me terribly, so we haven't gone. But I do wish they were doing pizzas still. Best pies on the South end of the island.

Awesome little food truck, my husband and I had the fish fry with coleslaw. It was perfect! We had the half and it was still a large piece of fish and filled us both up. Highly recommend we live in Langley and haven't had much luck with restaurants in town due to horrible service experiences. All the employees here were sweet and had smiles. Especially the young lady taking orders. We will return

We had Joe and the Big W food truck cater for about 80 people at the welcome/rehearsal dinner for our wedding and we were BLOWN AWAY by how awesome it was. Joe went way out of his way to help us, from it being a last minute request to being a difficult location to access and even wanting a custom Mediterranean menu...and the BIG W really came through for us! The food was amazing, our guests are still complimenting it! And Joe and his staff couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating! If you are looking for a food truck on Whidbey Island, look no further!

FYI. It seems like this food truck does not exist anymore since becomming a restaurant.

We just picked up wings today but based on the amazing flavors we will definitely be back to eat our way through the menu. These were some of the absolute best wings I've ever had in my life. Ordered from their permanent location and they came out to take payment, as well as to deliver the food, so everything felt very COVID safe. Can't wait to try more!

So I ordered wings and a half fillet of fish. The wings first. They were cooked nice and plump, not overdone with the right amount of Buffalo sauce. I bit into the first one and it had this delicate smoky flavor, tender and juicy and mmmmmm good. The coleslaw looked home made and was pleasing, not overloaded with cheap Mayo, this was the real thing. Next up the fish. I hardly order deep fried fish, especially from a place that is not exclusively a fish and chip joint. It's a simple food and needs to be done with care, not just slapped heartlessly into a deep fryer and taken out whenever you get around to it. So, I'm not easy to please here and I admit it. So I open the container and these amazing fresh cut fries are piled there, caressing this beautiful piece of fish. It. Was. Beautiful. But those fries, not chips, but fresh cut fries. Now I'm not supposed to eat those fries, but let's be honest here. I ate some fries. Perfectly seasoned, not too salty. Just the right crunch on the outside and I did not get the feeling they cheated with that egg white coating that makes a nice crisp but at the expense of leaving that egg white off flavor. These tasted like real fresh cut fries. Wow. On to the fish. They had a proper English style batter. Nicely fluffy but still light and crunchy. Then the most beautiful white fish on the inside. The tartar was home made and delicious.So overall. Nope, not buyin it. I've tasted lots of wings, lots of fish. Nobody gets these two things right, let alone both at the same time along with fresh cut fries too. What do you take me for? I wasn't born yesterday. I'm not a fool. I don't know if you are using smoke and mirrors, magnets, mind control or what have you, but this is just too good to be true. If you think something is too good to be true, it probably is. So I'm going to continue to patronize this "amazing" food. One day you will slip up and Where will I be? I'll, be there to say I told you so. That's where I'll be. You have been warned!

Maybe the gal was having an off day. This was summer of 2020 during Covid @ location next to The Goose.I phone-in an order for 3 "to go" and I mention we are just pulling up to the place.  It's our first time there and we see a table for outdoor seating, we get out of our vehicle and begin to sit down.  I hear a voice from inside the establishment saying "im not coming out there to take your order."    I explain to her that i just got off the phone with her for a take-out order and give her my name for reference. We are at a table just out front, the door to the establishment is wide open, place is empty and we are the ONLY customers.  After 10 minutes she again comes to the doorway and says, your order is ready it is inside sitting on the counter, so I follow her to the counter and as she hands me the order she says "Be sure to clean up after yourselves because I don't come out there to clean up"    ...I'm not sure, but I think she may have been the owner, she is probably a great boss and a great worker, but working with the public isn't her thing.  There was absolutely no greeting, no "thank you, please come again" she never used my name, even though I gave it to her twice, and all she did was tell me what she was NOT going to do....and it's condescending to tell customers to be sure to clean up after themselves before they even begin.  It's not like we are rowdy youngsters. We are all over 50!Food was good, but the "half filet" fish fry was a tiny tail portion - about 3 bites of fish.  Now I know, and will get the "full filet" size. Im giving 5 stars because I want the establishment to do well. Hopefully next time they will be cheery and friendly and act like they want our business
