Big Rock Grocery, Bar & Grill

I've always loved coming here while my husband and I are out on our motorcycles. But recently we've come by twice and the first time they were just straight up closed without any info online about their closure. (it was a Friday at 5pm) the second time we came back we walked into a fairly full establishment to be told we needed to leave because the kitchen was closed? All we wanted was a beer and the dude didn't even let us finish our sentence before pushing us out the door. i really hope this place can get a current schedule online.

Okay this was my last visit to Big Rock. I was out with a large group on a Fall ride and we decided to come here for our big meal. Mind you it's after 2pm. We were 11 and the staff found room for us. Drinks were ordered and menus passed out. It was not the regular menu I'm used to seeing but I figured it was one of the inserts you sometimes see. In looking at it I noticed it was all breakfast food. I turned it over and you guessed it. More of the same. I took it to the server and asked to swap it for the regular menu. She said that was their menu until 3 pm!!! Say what? It's after 2 and you want me to eat an omelette? I was not having that at all. I'm not a breakfast food guy anyway and I figure at that time nobody else is either. I'm not sure who instituted that policy but it wasn't well thought out. She suggested I could have drinks until 3 and order then. First of all I can't "drink" for almost an hour then ride out of there just to wait on ordering regular food. Our group of eleven finished off their beer etc and we pulled out of there to go to the Big Lake Bar and Grill where we were able to get regular food one would expect after 11am. Big Rock you lost a group of eleven adults on a slow day and you lost me forever. In the scheme of things I know that isn't a big deal to the business but I have to take a stand. May your business prosper without my patronage.

My sister and I didn't intend on stopping on our Geocaching adventure, let alone here. I needed a bathroom badly, so we thought if we bought a few gas station convenience store items that would make us "customers". This is not a grab-and-go place rather a gas station that identifies itself as a cafe roadhouse! By the time I left the kick-ass bathroom complete with a dry erase board and pens, my sister was posted up at the bar ... wait, what? A bar? So I wandered over there to join her. The cutie behind the bar promptly served me as well. It was midday on a Saturday so college football was screening on the TVs for the other patrons. The current discussion was the BBQ choices for the weekend. We love BBQ so we listened intently. The owner operator (?) greeted us and to exchange friendly banter. The next bar server also stepped on for her shift. The obligatory convo led to questions such as "where are you going?", "whatcha doing?". We explained we were treasure hunters (Geocachers) which inspired the new girl to download the app and play when she was done. A geocache was hidden at the nearby bridge which we were gonna find eventually. They convinced us to try the "snack" brisket. SO DELISH! We polished off our beers, the food, said our goodbyes, and bounced. We'll definitely be back if we're in the area. If you're in the area, don't simply pass through the roundabout ... come in!

Nice place. Menu is getting more and more limited. Very limited service. Food was ok. Still has wings on the menu but only serve boneless. Would not be my go to place. Nice people.

Great place to come watch the Seahawks or Mariners. They have 4 t.v.'s and it isn't extremely loud or busy. Decent service. They have a rotating draft selection of 13 selections. Food is good. I like the brioche bun they serve with the burgers and the garlic fries are delicious. Cute outdoor area for summer too.

Not impressed with the service food was ok :(. Just to FYI No Service Dogs are permitted in your lap ,Must have a leash no matter how small 5 lbs!!!I won't be back! They asked me to leave !

I went to this place for dinner, since it has remodeled.... A vast improvement of old. The place is clean, tight, and the staff is nice. They have a small menu for food, and the restaurant opens at 11:00. I had the burrito, and it was delicious. I got a beer from the bar, and this was disappointing. It was not cold, the glasses she took from the fridge were not cold. I think they need to look at their fridge.... The prices were not bad, I found the place affordable.... I will try it again, and by the way, the gas station around back is not associated with the store.

What a shame. The last owners lost my take out orders when they kept getting them wrong. Now the new owners. Went the first time today. Got my order home. No top bun on my burger.Not going back after that, more of the same old same old. Too bad! How disappointing.

Just an FYI... the previous Big Rock Roadhouse closed down in December 2022. Food was ok not great. Spendy for what you get and that you go to a window to order. Service was good and the people nice. The lighting is awful! Very bright like sitting under florescent lighting. For me it made the food look bad as well. If they fixed that so it was more comfortable we might try it again but most likely not. Had high hopes for this place. Even the setup inside is just awkward.
