Im currently eating my meal and feeling quite nervous. The process to order and pickup was simple and quick- but when I walked in, there was absolutely no one in the restaurant and the room smelled faintly of old cabbage. When I got home and opened my containers (I got sesame chicken combo with egg drop soup and white rice) I was surprised to see chicken the color of flaming hot Cheetos. It is bright red. Alarmingly like blood red. I've never seen sesame chicken like this before. It doesn't taste bad but im confused and the color is throwing me off and making me lose my appetite. The rice is crispy and feels old. The soup is luke warm but relatively tasty outside of the random peas and carrot. Overall, I probably won't finish my meal and I doubt I'll eat here again. It was only $12 but $12 I'm not willing to spend again.

Only Chinese restaurant that I can find that can actually do lemon chicken! This restaurant has been around for a VERY long time and their quality and service has never faltered.

I ordered takeout and was disappointed.Maybe I could take the disappointment better if the prices were lower but with higher than average prices this fails miserably. It was Friday afternoon early evening approx 5 pm.I ordered 2x shrimp & broccoli and an orange chicken. The S&B was so so. I've had better in terms of portion and flavor. The orange chicken was what appeared to be a fried filet chopped with gross sauce in the side . (See pic)Needlessly to say I will never return here.Summary: BIG prices, BIGGER disappointments.

Big Joy and BIG excitement to come back here after not having been here in over 30 years! Yes, I was a 10 year old last time I came here. This place has weathered the storms in this area, which has declined over the years. But WOW, there is a reason they've survived! My sister just moved back to the area recently and told me this place still existed so HAD to go back!Very fond memories here as a child and I always remembered the poo poo platters they served up as a kid and getting super excited to cook my food in them (back then, it was a multi-level platter with a fire in the middle). The poo poo platter is no longer existent here but they still have the sizzling rice soup!I had my expectations lowered walking in, just due to the age of this place. We all huddled into a table. The menus are underneath the glass on the table, so very convenient! Not sure why other places don't do this during the Pandemic. We all started with hot tea, sizzling rice soup, pot stickers and crab rangoons. The sizzling rice brought back memories and it really does sizzle when they put it into the soup (they do it at your table). I believe it's an oil they put in there? Very good! The pot stickers and Rangoons were delicious! The hot tea was also a hit for us.For my meal, I opted for Orange Chicken. I used to get Mongolian Beef when I came here as a child or Sweet N Sour chicken, but wanted to try this (love the orange chicken at Panda Express now). Holy Cow with a side of Hot Dang-Diggity! Man, they brought out a masterpiece with that Orange Chicken! The presentation of it was incredible and the taste was so good! You can actually eat the orange slices they use to divide it up! Everyone loved their meals! Best Chinese I've had. Dead serious. I am going back again for sure and eating my child hood favorites! Wow, this place is a sleeper; a hidden gem to the Stone Mountain area. I've been back to places from my childhood for nostalgic purposes, but this place is a treasured memory that is putting out great food!

Eat in and you will love it. It is the Best Chinese Food near Stone Mountain. It is the closest Chinese Restaurant to Stone Mountain Park. So if it is pouring down rain at the campground and you want to dine in for Chinese...Go to Big Joy. The soups are great and I like the chicken wing (that comes with the combo meal. It is very crispy.) My favorites are Steamed Pot Stickers, Shrimp and Scallops, Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao (you choose your protein), Moo Shou Pork, Black Mushroom Chicken(if you love Shitake Mushrooms) To survive the pandemic, this restaurant has to be good, right? Ignore the take out bad reviews for fried foods. The staff and owner are very nice and you will be more joyful after you eat here. I love supporting locally owned restaurants.

By far one of the best Chinese Restaraunt. I am from Sacramento, Ca and so it's so hard to find a good Chinese Restaraunt here in GA, that compromises one in Sacramento! And this does it for me and my family! The service is very respectful and Joyous. Very clean and has very cute and authentic decor!! The main Lady Ms. Lin is a very very nice lady! My family and I have really enjoyed the Chinese Food from Big Joy!!
