Being born and raised on the Big Island, my standards were really high. This place was a typical non-Hawaiian ran eatery that tried their best. The marinated meat lacked taste. The cashier was friendly and the food came out quick. If you never had authentic BBQ plate lunches from Bug Idland, then you probably will be satisfied.

I usually love this place. But the food was cold and chicken was raw. I asked to have it remade and the cook threw a fit. Tried to convince me the food was cooked. Unreal. The cook then looked out the window of the kitchen the whole time as I was eating. Never felt so uncomfortable.

Needed to find a side dish in the area for a party so we found this restaurant and called it in. We decided to order a Macaroni Salad for 10 people which ended up being a small tray order. It would be ready in a 1/2 hour so it was perfect as we had to drive about 15 minutes away from where we were at. It's really a grab and go spot and lots of people were coming in. There's a Costco nearby and a strip mall so there's lots of foot traffic. The parking lot is a bit tricky as there's a drive-thru restaurant where cross-traffic waits so we had to park away from the business or else we'd be stuck trying to back out while waiting for the cars to move thru. Anyhoo, our order was ready in time and the salad was very fresh and cold. We were interested in a small snack like a Malasada but they didn't have it. The small tray of Mac salad was about $50 and would feed more than 10 people for sure....more like 20-25 since we weren't serving full ice-cream scoop sizes at the party. I forgot to take a photo of the salad but the tray was heavy with the salad.

The Mac salad is my favorite! Teriyaki chicken and katsu chicken make for great mains to go with the Mac salad and of course the cabbage is always tasty.

Good food and very clean but always busy good to order ahead Service is on point too

Ordered 14. Big Island BBQ Mix & 17. Chicken & Kalua Pork Combo. We really enjoyed all the meats, especially the kalua pork! The amount of food for the combo and taste was worth the price.It's a place you order at the and we got it to go but there are seating areas.I would definitely recommend this place and we will be back again and again!!! The bbq chicken was so tender and juicy, was dry. I enjoyed my meal and will be coming back. Tables were clean. Staff was great!

The inside wasn't that great looking. But the food definitely makes up for that. I got my order to go so it didn't really matter how the inside looks. But figured I would add this for people who want to dine in. The pork was very moist and delicious. It had a slightly sweetness to it. The macaroni salad was alright. The chicken was cooked nice as well. The beef was slightly overdone but still not bad. The service was also great and the staff was friendly. Overall Taste: 7.5/10Ambiance: 3/10Value: 8/10Service: 9/10Speed: 8/10I would recommend getting the pork. That was my favorite out of the three meats.

I am from Seattle and have been searching for a good teriyaki restaurant. We have been to about five or six restaurants over a two year period. This by far is the best chicken teriyaki place. Very much in the style of Seattle teriyaki. The maccaroni salad was excellent. I will search no more...this place is excellent.
