Visited Big Anges for the first time and let me say the beef brisket was phenomenal. This is my go to for BBQ in the Mount Prospect area. Service was great and very friendly staff. I just wish the prices were lower! This can definitely get very costly when you visit with the family. Unfortunately, that's the state of things these days..

The burger here is amazing! (fries too!) Gentleman was walking around asking everyone how the food was. Super friendly. My husband and I will be back for sure!

I have seen multiple posts on social media talking about how great the food was here. I also made a comment on Big Ange's Eatery Instagram page telling them that I definitely need to stop in there and try their food. After I made my comment someone from their Instagram page reached out to me. They told me what I needed to try and that I needed to stop in to say hello to the owner who is always there.I had some time on a Thursday afternoon to make my visit. I decided to wait past the lunch rush and go around 1:00 PM.The location of the restaurant is very unique, as it sits between railroad tracks on Northwest Highway, almost like a triangle plot. The lot for parking is extremely small. There is a large handicap ramp that you can use to enter the building or you can use the side with steps, which is away from the parking. When you first walk in you realize how small this eatery actually is. I walked up to the front counter and spoke with a gentleman who I assume was a manager. I asked to speak to Rocco, the owner. I told him that I spoke with someone through their Instagram and they invited me to come in and try some of their food. I handed him my business card to show all of my social media. He told me that's great and what would I like to try. I told him I wanted to try their famous brisket sandwich. I also wanted to try their pastrami sandwich. I also heard that their Porchetta sandwich, which was on Chicago's Best, is something that needs to be tried. I ordered a side of fries, a small side of coleslaw, and a side of macaroni and cheese. The total came to around $77. There was no discount for this food reviewer. I pay for all of my food that I review.I told the gentleman behind the counter that I was going to review all of the sandwiches and he told me to take a seat. They would let me know when it was ready.I waited about 10 minutes and my name was called. All of the food was packed up in a large brown bag. I would've liked if they had some sort of tray, so I could present the food better for pictures. This looked to be enough food to last me for a couple days. I pulled out the sandwiches first and then the sides.I tried a bite of each sandwich and a bite of all the sides. I packed up my food to go because the small eatery was starting to get very busy with school children. There was a group of probably 12 school children that started to crowd the entire place. Who knew that elementary school kids love the barbecue? Here is my review of each item. The star of the show, which I definitely would return for, is the Porchetta sandwich. The Porchetta was extremely tender and juicy. The hot gardiniera complimented it nicely. My only complaint is I wish it was a little spicier. My next sandwich I tried was the thick cut pastrami sandwich. This came with just mustard on Ryebread. The pastrami sandwich had a taste of smoke, with some saltiness. The meat was tender. It was good, but I do not think I would order it again. It was missing something to its flavor profile. I can't put my finger on.The next sandwich was their famous brisket sandwich. It looked so inviting. The meat was very tender, but I did not like the flavor whatsoever. The smoke was way too heavy. The flavor of the smoke tasted almost like they poured liquid smoke on it. I am not saying that they did this, but it was the strongest smoke flavor I've ever tasted on barbecue in my life. I did not care for the sandwich at all.The sides were OK. The French fries were good and crispy. The macaroni and cheese was creamy, but lacked any type of seasoning. It was just noodles and cheese. The coleslaw was the worst of the bunch. It was dry and it needed to be more creamy with some more spices. If I had just walked into this location and tried their Porchetta sandwich, I would give this place a 9 of 10 rating. However, since I did try the other items they brought the score down.Taking into consideration the price and inconvenience of parking when busy and the awkward location and the other items being lackluster, I give Ange's Eatery a rating of 6.9 out of 10.I want all my readers to remember that this is just my opinion. If you truly love something that I try and I do not care for that item, this is not personal. I will definitely return for that Porchetta sandwich. It is very good and definitely go. Check them out for the sandwich alone.would recommend coming to this place based on that one sandwich.

What a great place! Everyone is so friendly and the food is amazing. I had a pulled pork sandwich that came with a huge portion of pulled pork on it. The boardwalk style fries were addictive, and the vanilla milkshake was really delicious. Seating could be limited but didn't have to wait for a table on a Saturday. Everyone seems very considerate. Really happy to find a great bbq place close to home.

Great local spot with wonderful barbecue, Italian and American options. We tried the brisket which was great. Love their sauce options. There's a sweet heat and habanero bbq sauce. We also tried the burger and the haystack onions. Both were solid. It's a small place with character and outdoor seating options. We will be back.

Brisket was great, maybe the best I've ever had combined with their homemade sauce. Owner immediately comes to you and offers you a sample of the brisket and sausage. My only gripe is that it's a bit pricey.

9.6/10After shooting 16 over par, this brisket sandwich slaps. It had a great smoke flavor with burnt end texture. I highly recommend smothering it with coleslaw and extra bbq sauce.Mac and cheese with bacon is too thicc.

We are visiting from Colorado and this was our first stop since it's near our Airbnb. Service is 10/10 chefs kiss. Everyone in here is so thoughtful and fun and wholesome and the whole place just feels like home. Food was amazing! Italian beef and tritip sandwich were fantastic. The SHAKES are loaded and great for a hot day!

Wow! What a let down. Being a big fan of Chicago BBQ, Big Ange's came highly recommended by some of my BBQ friends that I trust. I decided to take my wife and another couple for the first time. Big mistake.Although we arrived at 5:30PM for dinner, we were told there was only 1 slab of ribs left. We ordered this, plus the prime brisket along with mac & cheese and coleslaw and fries. The ribs were dry and way too sweet. In addition, the brisket was stringy, dry and tough. Just awful. The rub on the outside was burned giving the brisket a charcoal taste. I had to spit a few bites into my napkin as it was just too tough to swallow. The fries were undercooked and soggy. The mac & cheese was ok but probably pre-made and microwaved to order. Although 2 different homemade BBQ sauces are offered, they both tasted the same and were nothing special. I expected the homemade lemonade to live up to the hype on the website but it too, was a great disappointment and certainly not worth the price. Perhaps the key is to arrive earlier for lunch as hopefully the food will be fresher? I wouldn't know as i won't be going back.
