I really liked the chicken tenders here. They had a great crispy exterior with an all white meat tender inside. They are very well made. The ones I purchased were the Hot Fried Tenders for $8.99 for four larger pieces, which were plenty for one person.I had them with BBQ sauce for dipping. They offer a variety of dipping sauces, but you only get one per order. You have to pay for an extra sauce. The service was good at the counter. You order and pay, and then they bring your food to the table. Each order comes with house pickles radishes. Great tenders.

I came by here with my cousin as we saw it was a new restaurant in the area. We were greeted upon entering and placed our order on the kiosk. The staff were extremely friendly and we grabbed our seat. It was interesting as some people were seated and given menus and some ordered at the counter and found seats. I think they were still trying to figure it all out. Overall the chicken was crispy and well seasoned! The classic wings were my favorite. I am not sure how I feel about the Bburinkle Wings as it was a sweet cheese powder. I know some people love it though. I would come back for the classic wings sometime if I'm in the area!

This review is for a take out order and only for the chicken sandwich. I think I should stick to order chicken wings or tenders at a fried chicken place. Firstly, I ordered the classic sandwich combo with no coleslaw, with Bburing chips. There were no chips that came with the order, and the sandwich had coleslaw in it. The sandwich had chicken pieces that were too thick to be in a sandwich , and the breading of the chicken became really soggy from the coleslaw/mayo. The bread itself was very wet/soggy on the bottom. The top layer of bread was still ok because it was so thick and dense. The sandwich as a whole was quite difficult to eat because it was so stacked up with the thick chicken pieces and everything kept falling out. The plus side is that the chicken itself was quite tender and not dry. I wouldn't recommend the sandwich but I would be interested in trying the other things on the menu next time

Will have to come back to try their chicken on its own, but the chicken sandwich was just okay imo. They have two sandwich options for the lunch special, one spicy and one non-spicy. I got the non-spicy one. The combo was pretty pricey but it does come with a side (fries were good) and a drink. The sandwich was GIGANTIC. Like bigger than a foot long subway and probably equates to 2 Popeyes sandwiches. Inside the sandwich are a bunch of little chicken tenders - they were good, pretty crispy. I didn't like the sauce though - super sweet and kind of odd.

4.5/5.0Food: my friend and i got the 8 piece spicy burrinkle, rose tteokbokki, and the cheese balls. The chicken & seasoning was delicious & spicy. Tteokbokki and cheese balls were okay, but got tired of them after a few bites. Portions were big (they actually gave us 9 wings instead of 8!). 4/5.Service: we got seated immediately and our waitress (i didn't get her name) but she was super sweet & attentive. Interior was clean and plenty of seating & parking. 5/5 Definitely would come back since i work so close! They serve some really good & fresh chicken! Highly recommend the burrinkle seasoning!!!

I heard about this place and wanted to give it a try. I came by on a Sunday and ordered the 3 piece drumsticks in Red King flavor. The 3 piece was massive and not too spicy. Crispy on the outside with a lot of corn starch batter. I was curious about the kimchee fried rice with cheese and will likely get that next time. The staff were helpful. The interior had a lot of seating and had a nice ambiance. Overall, I enjoyed the place and will come back to try other items on the menu.

The local Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) competition is heating up with another new entry into the SD market. BHC Chicken has opened its second US store with this location at The Mercato Food Hall in Sorrento Valley. They are supposedly South Korea's most popular KFC chain. The suite had capacity for about 50 customers. The menu wasn't all fried chicken as several traditional Korean dishes were available (e.g. spicy rice cakes). You could place an order using the self service kiosk or with a cashier. I found the options to be confusing, namely the fact that some of the sauces were unavailable to be paired up with certain chicken cuts. I don't if this was a supply issue or a speed bump in the operation because they had been in business for less than a week during my visit. The fried chicken is made to order so plan for additional waiting time while the food is being prepared. Two of the signature flavors were the Gold King (Korean soy sauce, honey, and garlic) and Bburinkle (Korean cheese seasoning). I chose the Bburing Cheese Balls as an appetizer which had the latter sprinkled on top of the deep fried product filled with mozzarella cheese. The fritters were chewier than I had anticipated as the pastry dough was glutinous rice (i.e. mochi). The cashier convinced me to order the thighs which I requested with a Classic Fried flavor. Eight pieces were served with sweet chili sauce per my choice. More of this dip was needed to match the portion size of the order. The batter was light and very crunchy. It was probably one of the better executed versions I have tasted in the SD area. Better Happier Choice... not so sure about this pretentious, abbreviated motto, but I felt my dining experience was at a four star level.

This place is legit! Food was delicious and service was even better. We got to try their original fried and gold king flavors and they came out pipping hot, ultra crispy, and so juicy with the best glaze (gold king). The gold king flavor was the star. It was sticky and savory with a hint of sweetness. Their fries were so good too like McDonald's fries. The unsung heroes were also the cold and sweet radish and the sweet habanero dipping sauce. There was a fountain drink machine so we were able to wash down our delicious food with some unlimited cold drinks. It's big and spacious inside. It seemed like a fast food place because you order at the counter and clean up after yourself but the dining-in service was incredible. They thought of everything including plates, utensils, and a kid water for my son and even a small bucket for the bones, all without asking. Everyone was friendly, caring, and accommodating.

Another Korean Fried Chicken spot has popped up in San Diego, amidst some heavy competition. This location is smartly located in Sorrento Valley, where the lunchtime work crowd can readily drop in. It is part of the new food hall restaurant collective located in the plaza with the Planet Fitness and parking is plentiful. You can either dine in (full service), order from the kiosk (seat yourself), or order to go. We had no idea dine in was an option and we were pleasantly surprised that we got service to take our orders, bring water & utensils, and check on us throughout the meal.I came with a group and we all decided to order the 8 piece wings in different flavors so we could try almost everything. I ordered bburinkle (only because gold king was out boo), and the other flavors that were ordered included hot fried, sweet & spicy, matcho king, and red king. Out of all the flavors, I enjoyed hot fried and matcho king the best. The bburinkle was a bit too sweet and paired with the bburing (lemon yogurt) sauce, it made it even sweeter. I felt like the spice levels were quite manageable, even on the red king, and every flavor was distinct. The chicken also comes with a small side of pickled radish was a nice touch and it tastes pretty standard. Someone also got the coleslaw and I wasn't a huge fan; it reminded me of a chicken salad, minus the chicken and only a hint of sauce. The only complaint I have is the size of the chicken wings. They must use organic chickens from Korea or something because these are probably the smallest wings I've ever seen in my life. One person in my group got a wing that was the size of a pinky finger. With that in mind, I think the wings are on the pricier side considering their size. An 8 piece ($17) was the perfect amount for me as a small woman, but probably wouldn't be enough for a dude. Overall I wouldn't mind coming back if someone wanted to go, but it wouldn't be my top choice.

BHC (Better & Happier Choice) Chicken is new to the Sorrento Valley neighborhood and has been opened for about a month. I stopped by with my daughter for a late lunch/early dinner. We placed our dine-in order at the self-serve kiosk and ordered the following:- Bburing French fries $7.00- Coleslaw $3.00- 2 pc Cheese twists $8.00- Rice cakes with noodles $13.99- 8 pc Red King wings $16.99- 8 pc Matcho King wings $16.99They had some Bburing chips for sampling. We liked the flavor so we ordered the fries. The serving of fries was relatively small for $7.00.I really enjoyed the coleslaw. If you're expecting something creamy, you will be disappointed. This was an Asian slaw that had cabbage, red onions, celery, and jicama, tossed in a tangy vinaigrette. The cheese twists had an interesting taste. It was like a sweet donut dough filled with cheese that wasn't cheesy/stretchy. It wasn't bad, but my daughter and I agreed that we wouldn't order it again. We enjoyed the rice cakes with noodles that came with slices of thin fish cakes and half a boiled egg. We did not expect it to be so soupy, but it was good.We wanted the Red King and Matcho King sauce with chicken tenders, but unfortunately the chicken tenders did not come in these flavors, so we opted for the wings instead. If the chicken was made fresh to order (which I hope they were, considering it took about 20-25 minutes to get our order when there was only 1 other person who ordered before us), then I don't understand why they weren't able to offer any flavor with any choice (tenders/wings/drumsticks). I did not like how if you wanted specific flavors, then you're limited to the type of cut. Their inflexibility contradicted their restaurant name. A better and happier choice for us would have been the Red King and Matcho King Chicken Tenders! The chicken was really flavorful, but we thought the size of the wings were extremely small in comparison to other Korean chicken places. It did not warrant the price of $2.12 per piece. The restaurant was clean but we were very surprised that they did not have a restroom! If your hands are dirty and you eat wings and fries with your fingers, you're kinda screwed. They have the loose-fitting plastic gloves that you could use. Or, you could eat with a fork. Personally, I prefer eating chicken and fries with my hands. Licking the sauce off your fingers is half of the fun! I didn't appreciate how a party of 4 who came in after us were greeted, seated at the table, had water served, and a staff came to take their order while we were left to order our own food at the kiosk and fill our own water cups. The manager and owner came to speak with them for a long time and even brought complimentary appetizers for them to try. I guess not all customers are treated equally...My rating is between a 2 and a 3, but I have rounded up to a 3 since the flavors were good. Price and service were bad.
