One of the best boba places in San Diego! The tea served with each cup is freshly brewed, boba is soft and chewy every time, and the drink is well proportioned with adjustable sugar and ice levels. The drinks are also hand shaken before poured out into high quality boba cups, something that is no longer the standard among boba shops. They also serve a variety of Chinese and Taiwanese dishes, and I've often come here to eat meals or snacks with my tea. The food is also surprisingly good, and comes out rather quickly. People often come to drink tea, study, play board and card games, or just to eat!

Updating my review to add that I tried the yogurt drinks today, and while they're pretty good, I much prefer the ice slush drink with strawberry, pudding, and boba. The yogurt drinks are a bit too sweet (even at 50%) and not tart enough for my taste.The boba texture and size hits just right for me here. While it's not honey boba (it would be cool if they made this an available option), it's one of the better tapioca pearls I've had in the area.Again, I wish they had the staff preparing the drinks in the back of the counter, instead of right where the drinks get picked up. 3 out of 3 times I've been here, somebody was leaning right over the drinks talking animatedly and gesticulating and I really feel like it's a surefire way for some bacteria to end up in your drinks. It's bad optics for the business.

The first time I came here was to study which was nice since there's a lot of space and free wifi, but the outlets are limited. I've tried their milk tea and popcorn chicken and like their snacks more. I would want to try their other food options, but feel like you could get better Chinese food around Convoy. I wish their tea had a stronger tea taste and feel like the sugar level of their teas aren't consistent. Employees are very nice though! I wanted the roasted oolong milk tea and there wasn't an option to add boba on the kiosk so they manually added boba for me :)

Best late night boba spot! Great for hanging out (lots of indoor & outdoor seating) or studying (free wifi but NO OUTLETS). My favorite honey green milk tea in San Diego (75% sweet with boba of course). Strong tea taste with the perfect amount of chewiness from the boba. WARNING: VERY CAFFEINATED (I drink coffee everyday, but this tea had me LOCKED IN studying for 3hrs straight and had trouble sleeping lol).

I got their almond milk tea with taro and aloe. I loved it! It tastes great. The Taro was cooked perfectly and the service was friendly. I hope this place lasts! It's great! There are so many run of the mill boba places but here they avoidable brew the tea and the toppings are fresh!

We stopped in for a quick drink while we were out and about. They have a kiosk right at the entrance where you can place your order. I got a Thai Iced Tea with boba and my daughter got an iced coffee with boba. It was about $5 for each drink - great deal! The staff was kind and our drinks were made quickly. Super delicious!

Bei Yuan is a great late-night hangout offering drinks and food. Unlike many boba spots, there is a huge parking lot and plenty of seating. The boba is decent, the drinks are tasty, and there is a variety of snacks and meals (though a bit expensive) available. The best part is that the shop is open until midnight since many boba shops close closer to 9 or 10pm. While not my go-to spot for a drink, Bei Yuan is great to visit with friends.
