Beer Star

This place was super chill and a fun place to hang out! They have an ample draft list and lots of bottles, including reasonably priced wine bottles.The variety of food options is nice too! We got burgers and enjoyed playing games for a few hours while grabbing some drinks - it almost felt like being at someone's house but without the cleanup. Something for everyone!

Such a wonderful establishment in the heart of White Center. Great beers and ciders on tap. They allow you to bring in your own food in. Most people order Lil Woody's togo next door or the taco truck across the street. It's always very clean and well kept. The staff is wonderful and the environment is welcoming to all. They even have a children's area and allow dogs on leash.

My friend and I ordered a flight and a sour. Both were delicious, and the price of the flight was fantastic. The interior was spacious inside with a decent amount of seating, and there was also an outdoor patio in the back. The service was attentive and friendly. The protocol here is you clean up after yourself, which seemed to be working as the establishment was pretty clean. You're able to order food from other restaurants (there are 2 others connected) and bring it into here to enjoy with your drinks, which is great since this place doesn't sell any food.p.s. Dogs are allowed in this establishment!

I'm mad at myself for not rating this lovely joint sooner. I'm sitting here enjoying a bomb, refreshing Greek salad with a hard kombucha enjoying ambience with our dog. I freaking love this place so much what a good community space

Great place to chill with a group of friends and have a beer or snack! Kids and dogs welcome. It's nice and big inside with many tables and stools to choose from. I saw groups playing games and others just playing with their kids. They had a ton of single beers, ciders or meads in the cooler to choose from. They also offered us a couple samples before buying wine by the glass or ordering a whole growler. It's neat because you can peruse at your own leisure, no pressure. I loved how many snack options they had to choose from as well! I think you can also bring your own food in to eat. There are many restaurant and food trucks around to choose from. Then just eat inside with a beverage of your choosing. Parking can be hard to find but if you do at least a dozen laps around the block, you should be able to get one, haha!

For someone like me, who's a bit indecisive, I like that there are many different beers, ciders, wines and seltzers on tap. The staff is friendly and lets you sample beverages before making a purchase. They are super knowledgeable about their beverages and make good suggestions. There is ample seating and they show seattle sports on their tvs. If you're hungry, you can order a burger or slice of pizza from the two attached restaurants.

If you're looking for a quality tap room that's also family friendly in Tacoma, look no further! Amazing space and brew selection will keep you entertained for three lifetimes. Beer Star needs to open a location on the opposite side of 6th in the North Proctor area near North Tacoma Montessori. They'd make a killing off all the folks who could walk there, and the Ruston spillover!

ALL KINDS OF BEER ON DRAFT and also many in cans. You can sit at the bar and order flights or pints from the large selection of local and Oregon beers. Also many many cans in the large cooler to choose from. If you are lucky, you be served by Lisa. The friendly knowledgeable bartender who will steer you towards your favorite type of beer. Find one you like and take home a growler!The place is more store-like than bar-like although there is a bar and it is quite long. The ambiance is pleasing and a refreshing change from an actual bar. This place is bright and airy. There isn't any hot food at Beer Star, but it is next door to a pizza place and burger joint. Order there and they will give you a pager to let you know when your order is ready. So, great beer, great service, Nice atmosphere. 5 stars!Excelsior!

Great place to have a beer. Pretty deep selection of local and regional beers on draft. Also have a decent bottle/can selection of craft beers and ciders.

The Burgers are good and I have gone there with extended family, frequently. But I do not appreciate the attitude of the drinks counter waitress in not been cooperative, when I asked her to put the TV captions on.When I asked for captions on their TV, the waitress at the drinks counter (Nov 8, 2023 around 5 PM) was very defensive and uncooperative. I was surprised by her pushback on even trying to do it! I understood her serving customers first...but she was standing around a lot -- Wed night was not that busy. I am downgrading the rating due to her attitude. With the sound of the TV off (goodness), TV Captions help for both hearing and hearing impaired. After she argued with me about it, I mentioned that the Washington law requires it. It is law SB 5027...and I quote, "Any person that owns or manages a place of public accommodation that offers a closed-captioned television receiver for use in any public area must activate closed captioning..."You can read about the law here:https://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?BillNumber=5027&Year=2021&Initiative=falseI won't be going so often in the future due to her attitude!
