My friend was visiting from Colorado and we wanted a chill place with food good/drinks. We sat at the bar, and Ann was very attentive and helpful. We ordered off their brunch menu. I got the hit honey chicken sandwich w/homemade giardiniera peppers. One of the better chicken sandwiches I had. My friend got the French toast and didn't leave a single bit. Drinks I ordered an old fashioned and def the best I've had. My friend got a mango gin n tonic and it was delicious.

Did I go here 3 times in a row after first trying it? Yes. Did I enjoy every visit? Yes. Am I now obsessed with their gluten-free white cheddar popovers? 1000%.I've been to Beatrix Market before and never been at their actual restaurants until a few months ago. I avoided it a bit since the prices at the market are pretty expensive, but I always thought their food was good.First visit, I ordered their burger. I wish there was some sauce for the burger that gave it more flavor because if there was, it would have been way better. The cook was perfect and had a yummy bun, but their garden giardiniera could have been pickled more or had more flavor too. A more flavorful sauce would make it sooo good!I am not a huge chicken person but I tried the Chicken Bebe as they ran out of fish for the dish of the day at the time. They even let me have the side for the dish of the day (whipped potatoes) since I wanted it pretty badly! But the chicken Bebe was very delicious and I could lick the sauce off the plate. Very nice and tender, and tasted very yummy with the potatoes on the side (should definitely have the potatoes added to it!)I've also tried the pistachio crusted whitefish and the wild mushroom teriyaki bowl. I didn't go crazy over either of them, and thought the whitefish could have had more flavor and the wild mushroom had to tone the flavor down a bit. But my absolute favorite thing here are the white cheddar popovers. My friend originally ordered them since they were gluten free, but I didn't expect them to taste so good!!! I am pretty sure they are made out of tapioca flour as it has the similar, amazing texture of pao de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread). These delectable, buttery treats are so delicious and the bacon butter makes it so much better. Sometimes they have a drizzle of olive oil on the butter and wow.... It is the most divine with that combination!!!!I have quite literally dragged my boyfriend out of bed to eat here just for the white cheddar popovers. And I was crazy enough that I would only order them and have no main dish sometimes. The service here is usually amazing! The first time we went the very nice lady was on her A game. I only had one negative experience service wise where the waiter would not take our order for 15 minutes and kept talking to random staff members instead. :(If you have been here and never really liked the food, you need the white cheddar popovers to open your eyes!!!

My friend and I were able to grab a reservation for 2 this past Saturday afternoon. The interior was nice and elegant. Our server was quick about getting us water and taking our orders. Unfortunately, they were out of their LIGHT & FLUFFY LEMON PANCAKES which I really wanted.ENLIGHTENED CAESAR SALAD - 13.95+6.95 for grilled chickenMy friend wanted something light so she got the salad. I got this as well because I could not get my pancakes and other options on the menu did not stand out to me. The salad was not too big which was disappointing since it's pretty pricy. Adding 6.95 for the amount of chicken we got was also not worth it. The salad wasn't mixed very well so all the dressing was on the bottom (which was pretty much inedible by then). Overall, I would not recommend this. The greens were refreshing, though, but I can just walk over to the grocery store nearby and pick up a bag of fresh romaine lettuce for the same effect.I didn't think Beatrix was worth it for the Caesar salad. Maybe for the lemon pancakes? Haha.

Have come to Beatrix multiple times for brunch but decided to hop it for happy hour this time and absolutely loved it! They gave a great happy hour deal for a burger and a beverage for only $12! I got the mushroom quinoa burger and a beer and loved both! They also gave 1/2 off on snacks and we loved the guacamole. Both the guacamole and the salsa were honestly better than a lot of Mexican restaurants as well. Would definitely get it again! Great ambience and perfect outdoor patio seating for summertime Chicago.

While this is a beautiful restaurant that seems to strive for a more upscale experience, I'd say our visit was pretty underwhelming. We walked down from our rooms in the attached hotel and had a minimal wait, but actually getting seated took quite a bit of shuffling to the point that we were several minutes sat and the server came back and had us move us to a dirty table. Several staff members waited on our party of two, including a manager, and all together we maybe got bare minimum service. My iced matcha was undrinkable, but there wasn't any opportunity to do anything about it. My food was underwhelming and I left hungry. If you're gonna be a bougie brunch spot downtown, better make sure the staff are up to the rush. I think the food is just a miss for me because it wasn't bad, just blah.

Beatrix is great spot if you want to go out to eat but also not very unhealthy food. I was very impressed with their salads as I am not a huge salad person. We ordered the Straight "A" salad ($15.95) and the Baja Chopped salad ($15.95). Both of these were delicious but my favorite was the Straight "A" salad as I loved the mix of the avocado, almonds, pears, and their house vinegrette sauce was delicious. I ordered the hot honey fried chicken sandwich ($15.95) which was decent. Other than the fries, I think I would have preferred to keep eating the salads, which I don't normally say. But I really enjoyed their salads and felt very healthy eating it as well. Beatrix also has a variety of items such as their restaurant itself, coffee shop, and bar. There's a wide selection of what you can order whether you want to sit down and eat or take something to go.

Service was great and the bar seating was beautiful with news playing on the tv, the location was perfect walking distance from the places I was visiting. I didn't order food

Just had a great breakfast at Beatrix. When we first walked in we were wrapped in the aroma of freshly baked cookies and bacon. The hostess promptly greeted us and took us to our table that had an open view of the kitchen. Our waitress Nicole was friendly, professional and attentive. She made some recommendations and we ended up ordering the CHILAQUILES and the egg white omelet. Both were excellent. Great food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend. Our first night in Chicago and we decided to venture out for dinner. It was a Tuesday night but this place was hopping (although thankfully not so hopping that we couldn't get a table).I had appetizers for dinner (something you can't do at home!) and had the whipped feta and the hot honey brussel sprouts. The feta was okay but a little lack luster- I could have eaten three orders of the brussels though- omg!! They were sweet and savory and cooked to PERFECTION. We also got a number of desserts and were not disappointed by any of them. Our server was also excellent. All in all a very satisfying meal.

The Food , service and ambience feel so UNDER PRICED!! Right in the middle of everything in downtown Chicago
