Offers some high quality Cantonese roast meats. It's equal in comparison to the BBQ shops (Sam Woo, etc) offered in LA and the SGV. Of course the prices is higher, but the taste, and flavor, and quality is there.Staff speak Cantonese, Mandarin, EnglishCan dine in or take off out3 meat combination platter ($30). Comes with bowl of rice. Roast Pork- very crispy skin- pieces of lean pork and mixed with fat all in the perfect bite. Cantonese Roast duck- skin has great texture, combination of nice fatty pieces of duck, and lean meat. BBQ pork (char shiu)- perfect combo of sweetness and savory. Not overly marinated and sweet. Has enough fatty and lean taste.

BBQ King has some great Chinese food to offer. All the dishes were great...except...for the fried pot stickers. None of us cared for those. But everything else was gggoooodddddd!!!

Ate here today with my parents and sister to try this place out for dinner. We had definitely brought different kinds of food to share together to at least satisfy our taste. It was definitely great and delicious. The service there was also attentive. Finally, I will come back again next time when I visit Chicago.

Went in specifically to try their roast duck. Super delicious and flavorful. Service was a bit strange as we came in right at opening, got our food to go as we wanted to sit in their outdoor patio to enjoy. However, once we sat, we were told to leave as it was for other customers (we were on the people there). No big deal, would come back again.

Lovely little hole-in-the-wall restaurant in New Chinatown. This is a medium energy place with friendly staff, big tables, such cheap prices, and seriously good BBQ - perfect for taking the whole fam/friend group. We got the sampler which came with peking duck, ribs, char siu, garlic shrimp, bok choy, and chow mein. It was all sooo good that picking a favorite would be like picking a favorite child. But like all parents, I could pick if I had to, and I'd pick the char siu as may absolute favNote: this comes with more BBQ than in the picture, but someone forgot that the phone eats first and got to it before I could snap that pic

- The Hong Kong style tea was so good, came in a paper cup - I ordered the 3 meat platter and it came with a free bowl of soup (good for the soul) - Food came out fast and service was good - They're emptier during the day but at night it looked really busy - The inside is a no-frills vibe- We saw a lot of people get their orders to go

We had a decent dinner here! This is not the spot for the ambience nor the service, but folks who come here generally come for their bbq which really shines. We came in a weeknight and there was no wait to be seated. Most folks usually get bbq by the pound to go, so this was my first time dining in. I've always seen other diners get their meats served straight from the counter to their tables and that seemed so enticing to me, because I could never wait until I get home to sneak a piece of take-out bbq pork.Between two of us, we each ordered a bowl of noodle soup. We chose two meat options (bbq pork and roasted pork) but there are other options to choose from like duck or chicken. We also ordered a larger dish (mushroom with fried tofu) to share and it was served on top of a bed of bok choy. This is a solid place for bbq! The rest of the meal options are comparable to what you can find across Chinatown but their meats are what really shine. I also like that they offer dinner sets for 2 or 4 or 6+ people and there are plenty of round tables to accommodate large parties. This would be a good spot to go for family style meals, especially if someone would like Peking duck!It is a no frills, very causal environment, so don't expect the service to be stellar (although our server was attentive and nice). You won't be doted on like you would elsewhere, because they are busy making sure their bbq is at 1000% for their customers. I'll be back again for take-out, and glad I got to try dining in at BBQ King House. Bucket list item checked :) and I think everyone should try dining here at least once. For more, follow me on IG @gratuitousgourmande

My family has been coming to BBQ King for over a decade. It's a snug restaurant that's been visited by several notable critics and celebrities over the years, their photos and reviews taped on windows or walls. BBQ King is most well known for their bbq meats, including char siu pork and Peking duck. Every time we go into the city, we make sure to order takeout for a platter of soya duck and princess chicken, which is similar to Hainanese chicken but instead infused with ginger and rose wine. For dining in, we recently ordered the family set for two, which came with salted free-range chicken, steamed tilapia, and stir fried Chinese greens, as well as an a la carte fried spicy beef dish. Everything tasted great, and service was efficient even during the lunch rush.

This is a branch of Chinatown's renowned BBQ King House that is located in the food court of 88 Marketplace. It looks like no one ever put up a Yelp page for this particular food stand, though it's been present from the beginning, but here it is. Wife and I were shopping and ended up having a food court lunch at 88 Marketplace. I had their two meats on rice ($12) and picked BBQ duck and roast pork. It was tip-top delicious and hit the spot. It's also a great deal anymore at $12 compared to other meal values out there. Although old timers may remember that a BBQ King lunch like this would have only been $6 not too long ago, but whatever lol. This food court is great in that despite being a busy Saturday lunch time, there was still a table to be found. There's also free parking outside, which is also a big bonus for Chicagoland anymore.

Lovely little restaurant in Chinatown. I've heard from countless people that this is go to spot if you are a fan of Peking duck. Let me say that I ordered the duck combo for 4 people and at first thought the portion sizes would disappoint. I'm glad to be proven wrong! To rate the 4 dishes in the combo from favorite to least liked:1) crispy duck skin with buns 2) duck soup broth3) salt and pepper fried shrimp4) duck stir fry Personally the stir fry was slightly dry and not rich in taste compared to the other plates. At the end each person paid around $18 which is worth when you are comparing it to the amount of food served.
