Bud's mission to serve authentic Creole and Cajon food in the New Orleans manner has accomplished. I enjoyed my first dining experience here Thank you for bringing New Orleans to San Diego. We tried a few signature dishes - Pasta Jambalaya, Soft-Shell Po Boy, Jalapeño Cornbread and a piece of creole pecan pie drizzled with a light caramel syrup Soooo good

Bayou Kitchen is a hidden gem for anyone craving authentic flavors. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality, especially from our server Ryan. His knowledge and accommodating nature made our dining experience exceptional. As someone who isn't a meat eater, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of options Ryan effortlessly provided. His willingness to cater to dietary preferences without hesitation truly set the tone for the evening. The ambiance of the place, though small, exudes Southern charm and comfort. Despite the waitlist on a bustling Saturday night, the experience was well worth it. Every bite transported my partner back home, evoking nostalgia and joy.Bayou Kitchen is not just a restaurant; it's a taste of home for many and a delightful discovery for anyone seeking authentic Southern cuisine. Without a doubt, if we're ever back in the area, Bayou Kitchen will be our first stop.

Tried this place on a whim and it was amazing. This place is a hole in the wall in the Gaslamp area. We tried the alligator bites and it opened our pallets. Would encourage everyone to give it a try. Service was also great. Although I didn't get the servers name, it was two kind gentlemen. Overall a great place to try.

I went on Sunday for lunch and we easily got a table. It's a small restaurant with about 10 tables We decided to try the alligator bites and it tasted just like chicken. I got the seafood bisque and a side of jalapeno cornbread. Both were good. There wasn't a ton of seafood in the bisque but it was tastyThe service was good, they kept refilling our drinks and checking in.Parking in the area can be kind of hard so give yourself some extra time

A taste of New Orleans in the heart of San Diego. I trusted the other Yelpers and they were spot on. A quaint little restaurant with excellent food and a great staff. The flavors were spot on and we left with full tummies and warm hearts. Enjoy!

While in the Downtown San Diego area, I stumbled on this gem. Really incredible find. Intimate location, fantastic staff, and delicious food. I ordered the Jazz Festival with a side of jalapeño cornbread. It was amazing. Such great flavors. Topped it off with the creole pecan pie. I don't even like pecan pie, but this was next level. The entire dinner was perfect. Our waiter was so kind and attentive. I asked his name as we were leaving and he said, "Oh, I'm Rob." So I asked, "thee Rob?" And he goes, "yes, that's me..." That made my night. Rob was so great, and unassuming. You would never have guessed he was the owner. This restaurant is something special. Do yourself a favor and eat here!

The service here is amazing! The food was surprisingly not that good. The ambiance was small, but intimate, it was nice. We ordered the following:1. Catfish fingers 4/10, they were very dry, not pleasant to eat. I think they use cornmeal as the breading? 2. Cornbread 8/103. Maddy Gras Pasta 8/104. Crawfish Etouffee 6/10, didn't have much flavor, it was a smaller amount than I thought 5. Gumbo 8/10 6. Jambalaya 7/10, it was a bit dry, but it had a good amount of spice

Living in the Marina District, we mainly go out in Gaslamp and Little Italy. Deciding to venture out of our usual stomping grounds... (by just a few blocks lol) we were looking for a place in East Village, and wow, I'm so glad that we did! We stumbled across Bud & Rob's. If you've been to Bud's in off of the 15, you will recognize some of your favorites from the menu. The Taste of New Orleans was delightfully delicious! The flavors of the etoufee combined with the crispiness of the catfish was a party in my mouth. The service was attentive and overall fantastic. It's a relatively small place, and it was packed when we went so be sure to make a reservation to get a spot. I wrongly assumed that my partner wouldn't have a lot of choices given that she is celiac, but there were so many GF options on the menu, that she cut our server off after he listed several of them. (She landed on the shrimp and grits pictured below and loved it.)So glad we came across this gem. We will definitely be revisiting soon!
