Batch & Box - La Jolla

We've visited the Del Mar location many times and haven't had always the best experience so I wasn't sure how the visit would be today at their UTC location (by Blue Bottle, Pacific Catch - that side of the mall).Today was a HOT day. I went to the mall to walk around, get lunch, and nothing more. I passed by this BB on way to car and decided to step in (b/c they're next to the parking machine). They had samples of their current flavors of the month (Churro and Smores). The Del Mar location rarely has samples and if they do they keep it behind the counter . The samples today were by cashier and Deyli (it's pronounced Daily I think) was beyond gracious, welcoming, and sooooo nice. The location had nice cold a/c even with the door open. I sampled both flavors and fell in love with them both! I had a feeling this was going to be my saving grace of an otherwise sub par visit to UTC that day. I think I've had the smores before at the del mar location as friend bought it last year but I didn't like it but this time it was yummy. I don't normally like milk chocolate but this cookie was sweet but in a 'oh my gosh this reminds me of childhood memory of smores' kinda delicious-sweet. I also got the Classic which is my family's go to cookie (it has both milk and semi sweet chocolate chips I think).The packaging for the 2 cookies is so cute and perfect for a gift (which I'm giving to my pup's best friend later). I wouldn't have made the purchase today had it not been for the above & beyond staff (yes Deyli you!). I would 100% visit this location over the Del Mar location any day if the staff is like her. It is cashless and paying was quick and easy with a credit card. Side note - we just went to An's Hatmaker in Del Mar for their country famous gelato but I felt the cookies today at Batch and Box beat out their gelato as a dessert option.

These cookies were really good. Not overly sweet, perfect balance of all the flavors.A bit on the pricey side. But still worth it. If I'm ever in the area I would definitely get a cookie or two!

Walked into Batch & Box to fulfill a sweets craving and they DID not disappoint! I ordered 4 cookies - two chocolate chip (you always have to sample the basics to properly judge a good cookie joint) & two snickerdoodle cookies. The snickerdoodle cookies were our favvvvvvvorites! Once you take a bite, you'll be greeted to a slightly crunchy yet still soft shell, with a gooey, soft, and irresistible center filled with tiny little cinnamon chips. UGH soooo good! I wish I had a Batch & Box in my neighborhood. Will definitely be coming back for more!

I was so excited to see a cookie shop and the variety of cookies sounded so delicious. I selected half a dozen which included chocolate chip, sugar cookie, oatmeal chip, a fruit oatmeal and a couple of Snickerdoodles. These were some of the worst cookies I've ever had. Zero out of six were even OK. I was so disappointed in every cookie. The sugar cookie was so soft and when I took a piece, the frosting literally separated from the cookie. The rest just tasted doughy with no flavor except for the chips and those weren't even tasty. All the cookies ended up in the same place and it was collected today.

It was my first time at Batch & Box located in the UTC La Jolla outdoor mall. I'm so glad I stopped! These cookies are so delicious! Not one of them was dry! They had the perfect amount of sweetness! It was a perfect dessert for our family, I will definitely love to try all of there flavors! Staff were very friendly.

I am going to post this very, very short review and edit another time.So, I was headed to Blue Bottle Coffee nextdoor, when I noticed the sign. I hadn't read any reviews, but I thought to try one with my coffee. The cookies are on display in a somewhat sterile though pretty lobby.While there, a young lady was awaiting her box of goodness, so I asked her about her favorites. She raved about all, but during her recitation she mentioned this Lemon Shortbread cookie.Wow. Yes. More please.

Expensive at $4.50 per cookie, but damn delicious! I like how they keep cookies heated up so they're still nice and warm and gooey like they just came out the oven. I think I saw a sign for like $22.00 a box, so it's something nice to get as a gift for someone or a treat for yo-self. Picture of the double chocolate doesn't do it justice (kinda looks like a poo) but IT'S SO GOOD I GOBBLED IT DOWN INSTANTLY!

My only complaint is... why am I just finding out about this place now?My favorite cookie flavor is the classic chocolate chip. Theirs is perfection! The cookie of my dreams. Crumbl got nothing on this place. To be honest, I'm not a fan of crumbl. No offense to the people who are. To be crumbl is more doughy and thin in texture. Batch & box is the opposite of that. It's seriously all about. That chunky texture. I went in for just one post-dinner dessert and came out with half a dozen. Out of the flavors I tried, the classic chocolate chip is the best. Chocolate PB would be my second choice. Sweet (but not overwhelmingly so) plus a hint of saltiness from the peanut butter. The strawberry white chocolate one (forgot the name) is my least favorite. The sweet artificial strawberry flavor is overpowering. My kids love the sugar flavor, of course. I'd be in big trouble if they had a location closer to me. The shop itself is tiny but they make it cozy and inviting. The customer service is also very friendly. We visited near closing time and they didn't rush us out the door. Definitely recommend if you're shopping at UTC!

Wow one of the best chocolate chip cookies I've had in a long time. If you're looking for a soft, freshly made cookie this is the spot. They specialize in cookies and have a variety. Not cheap but very high quality. They also had a bunch of samplers which was nice.
