You know how you reeeaaallyyy know a deli is delicious. Line out the door and wall to wall humans...I have found my people. Rachel, pickle and slaw on the side. Quart of matzo soup for the next day. Almost every time. Some days I don't have time for a post lunch nap and skip the sandwich. It happened to be 'freezing' today 55 in September. Freezing. I needed Barry's. It warms you up from the inside out. And it's so filling. I'm going to try and walk off the pending food coma. Matzo soup is great! With Covid we needed a lot of soup in this household. Always came to Barry's. I never had noodles and my matzo. But they put noodles in theirs!!! It's legit. Look at those big chunks of chicken, carrots, and celery...Other than soups and sandwiches. Barry's has got you covered for all things related to Jewish foods. Sunday is Jewish New Year and Barry's was prepped. So many delicious sweet things to welcome in the new year. Plus all the traditional stuff. Their challah looked amazing. Their muffins are muffin top inducing and worth the treat once a year. Everyone is super nice and considering how slammed they were today I got in and out pretty quick!

The food is good. But, it is typically crowded and the staff isn't exactly friendly. They are much nicer than in years past- but it's really a coin toss on if they'll be nice, or if they'll act like you're an inconvenience lol. There is plenty of street parking available. Highly recommend their white American cheese- so good!

Stopped in at 4:47 pm and sign on door says closes at 5 pm on Monday. Place smelled of strong excess ammonia smell as girl washing floor... wondering if stench getting into meat. I go order sandwich and same girl washing floor tells me ... no sandwiches except maybe chicken salad... I ask no meat left?She said all slicers shut down and no meat slicing?Maybe they should close at 5 pm then clean equipment and stench out store with excess anomia or bleach as people won't wonder if the roast beef got contaminated with stench and customers not providing revenue during time open but not serving ? I left with buying anything and girl was rude too. I see no reason to come back . I bought in past many sandwiches there and see rude help or family relative daughter. Good bye... my feet won't darken the door mat again. I ate a sandwich at new Avenue deli down the street and cheaper prices too.

Stopped at Barry's on Tuesday, ordered a combo corned beef/pastrami on marble rye. I got a very thin corned beef sandwich on stale rye. And to make it perfect was the incredibly rude person whose accent was difficult to understand.

I ordered a half sandwich with a side (it comes with a side. What I got was a whole sandwich. The entire sandwich had less than a 1/2 cup of chicken salad on it, all lettuce and a thick cut of tomato. I was shocked. The side of potato salad was really good, but, tiny. Like what you would expect a side of salad dressing to be in. $16 dollars for 2 slices of bread, 1/3 cup of chicken salad and a sampling of potato salad?!?! You gotta be kidding me! What a total ripoff!
