Barr's Music City Soul Food

We were welcomed & greeted by Bishop Barr himself. Then Joey took over and helped with our selections. Our group thought everything we had was fantastic and on point. First time here, but by appearance they do a lot of to go and deliver services, but there are a few tables and chairs that are easily rearranged for eat-in dining. It is set back in the parking lot, just off to the side of Chick-flick-a and across the street from Prince's Hot Chicken. Meatloaf was excellent, the Gospel Bird looked to be fire, the cabbage was a stand out and the fried pork chops were hitting. Nice selection of desserts included Pecan & Chess Pie, Banana Pudding & Chocolate Cake. Hope to get back soon to sample some more of other offerings we didn't get to.

Had their food truck at the fairgrounds for an even we attended. Total chaos on ordering had to repeat several times to get the order to us after placed. 30 dollars for chicken strips bratwurst and on drink. Totally overpriced for this stuff plus terrible service for a truck that should be able to handle any kind of event. Bratwurst was just burned and dry as can be. Chicken strips were typical gas station style. Not worth spending your money at.

I ordered the fried chicken with corn and macaroni and cheese and it comes with a corn bread. The fried chicken needs to be cooked more and the sides were ok. My momordered fried pork chop and cabbage and sweet potatoes. My mom didn't have any complaints about the food. I also purchased a slice of pond cake which was delicious. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and patient with answer questions . This is a restaurant mainly for pick up not dine in but there are chairs and tables to eat on outside.

A perfect place for takeout soul food! While you can eat at the outdoor tables or limited indoor seating, it's best suited for a quick takeaway. The line can get a little long, but the staff is friendly and does their best. The bonus is a lot of food (especially fish) is cooked fresh. There are at least 10 sides to choose from. I enjoyed the dressing, tastes homemade, and the whiting was perfectly seasoned and fried. Numerous desserts and beverages are available also. I would return for a soul food meal.

I had no Thanksgiving plans today and did not want pizza, so glad they were open. Baked chicken, dressing, yams and the mac and cheese? FIRE. I couldn't even finish and saved the rest for later. Thank you so much for being open today!! 10/10 recommend.

Can't say enough good things about this place! Ordered on Grubhub for the first time today was was blown away. Incredible southern sides, and the bbq chicken... WOW. Never had such tender chicken in my life!!! Definitely entering this into my rotation. Definitely a South Nashville hidden gem!!!

Such a hidden gem. I think their food is fantastic. Especially the sides. My go to is rice and gravy, green beans, and dressing. Today I decided on a little cobbler. I wasn't disappointed! I have also had the meatloaf and macaroni. It's really great for a short lunch break! Food is always fast.

Excellent SOUL FOOD!! The staff is amiable, and the atmosphere is welcoming. Anytime I visit Nashville, TN, I will always get a meal from here

Great service and the drinks were out of this world: kool-aid, lemonade and tea (I don't know what's in it but it was delicious) I ordered the fried pork chop and it was like eating a Sunday dinner at my parents house! Great place and a must try if you are visiting Nashville
