Barrio Cafe

We arrived at the airport at the dinner hour and we wanted a real meal. You can't go wrong with Mexican food so we decided to eat here.We were seated quickly and were able to order soon after. Our food arrived within about 20 minutes after ordering so make sure you have at least an hour before your flight so you can eat and also enjoy the food.I ordered the Arizona burrito, which was very tasty and stuffed with chunks of pork. The fries with it were also excellent.The food is not cheap but it was worth it.The waiter was personable and efficient. You can order and pay in the app if you want.

The shrimp tacos are yummy! Crunchy big shrimp and nice size chunks of avocado! These were truly delish! I opted for the side salad, which was perfect!The place doesn't take a bit of time to get your order in front of you, but if you have the time, it is worth the wait. A little of the high price side but you can expect that in an airport.We were lucky enough to be seated in a back corner, so we had a quiet meal! I'd definitely eat here again.

Had a quick bite and couple drinks before boarding our flight. The chicken nachos were delicious but bloody Maria was so bad. I couldn't even finish that drink, hubby's margarita was much better. Our bartender was very friendly and fast the entire time. The bar seatings were a bit cramped but still acceptable. Not a bad place to have some food and drinks at this airport!

As Phoenicians we should be proud that we have Barrio Café at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. With the loss of our beloved Chef Silvana Salcido Esparza's Barrio Café on 16th Street, the magnificent ode and legacy she's left the Valley can be reminisced and enjoyed ever so slightly at this establishment. Don't get me wrong, it does not exude eloquence, quality and majesty in both its offerings and our expectations. But it does to a small tinge of nostalgia to enhance one's pass through while arriving or departing Phoenix. Don't expect the far-reaching excellence, nor the culinary expertise of by-gone moments. But one can slightly reminisce items such as roasted jalapeno, Cochinita Pibil, black mole and chiles en Nogada, that may be like, but not the same as the original. Not great, but a little above average than most Airport eateries! Nostalgia is good Phoenix.

We ate there to grab a quick bite (breakfast) before our flight. Food was not good. It was cold and flavorless. Scrambled eggs were not edible. I'd definitely recommend going elsewhere.

Dishes were delicious, clean and disappeared in silence! A "must stop" at PHX! Service was truly customer oriented! Would be nice to have a 2nd Barrio Cafe in N. Do yourself a favor and buy a sandwich and chips from somewhere else. The Arizona burrito was probably some of the blandest food I've had in my life... and I've had a lot. It honestly looked and tasted microwaved. No flavor to the pork at all. Salt and pepper couldn't even save this dish. It was a very soggy mess ( I asked for the sauce on the side) but the tortilla was still mushy. Service was decent for an airport establishment. As far as pricing... it's aligned with airport prices.

Mixed emotions on this one - it was better than anything else nearby in terminal 4 but it definitely wasn't great. Going to have to stick with a 3. The Arizona burrito was loaded with lots of pork, which I appreciated. And it was hot and a decent meal. Gotta make sure to put lots of the salsa on for some flavor. The fries were ok but the spicy ketchup the cake with was maybe the best part of the meal.

The only complaint I have is the servers were rude.Now on to the good, the service was fast even if rude. Also the food was amazing. I got the brisket tacos and their Cadillac margarita with a tajin rim. Everything came out quickly and tasted amazing. I do recommend this place as it seems to work well if your waiting on a quick flight.

This is a restaurant inside the Phoenix airport. We didn't wait since we sat at the bar area. Our bartender was nice enough to make us some drinks that were not on the menu. He was nice and polite. We ordered the chicken nachos and those were really good! Overall we had a great meal and great time on our layover here!
