Barlines

On a relaxed Saturday afternoon wandering the center of Music City, we found ourselves hungry and decided to just enter the first place that looked interesting. Barlines was that location that day. Located on a pretty busy and loud street, we were still drawn to the live music spilling out of the restaurant.It was open seating, and we were easily able to find an open seat orders since the weather was so nice. Service staff came up to us quickly.We started with an appetizer of seasoned chips that came with both salsa and cheese dip, and they were great. Warm and fresh, not too much or too little seasoning. For meals, we had the SoBro Grinder sandwich and the Boss Hog sandwich. Both of them were fantastic. What really surprised me was the speed of service: everything ordered came out fresh within minutes. Seems like a great lunch spot option!

Staff was terrible. Our waiter was this rude, sassy little milk-drinker. He didn't want to answer questions about the food. He called out a very innocent misunderstanding about the menu to my family member and tried to play it off as a joke. We were not amused with his behavior. I asked if the Hog Boss was a sandwich or a sub. He hesitated and wouldn't specify. I asked again and he was visibly irritated, then explained it's a sub. Everyone but me got their food. I was brought an appetizer (Nachos), that I didn't order, nor did we eat. He came back when he heard from the server that it was wrong and I got my food. Our waiter never returned the remainder of the time there. For anything. After we finished, we waited for over 30 min for a check to no avail. I asked another waitress in our zone and still nothing. I went to the bar and asked wait staff (see below)what the issue was. She got the manager involved and he had to take me to their kiosk so I could break the bill down for him to print out between parties. That waiter never took care of anything. When I asked what happened to our waiter. He just said they got overwhelmed and couldn't handle things. Got it. Thanks. I do not recommend this establishment for anyone or for any thing.~~Separate~~ There was a full table to the side of us and a large table with two women behind us. This middle-aged guy, white hair and ballcap, came in off the street and asked the two women if they minded sharing their large table with a group 6-8. They said no. The full table next to us was leaving and as a few started getting up, he swooped in and sat down and started having his group slide in. The table had not been cleared or cleaned. The waitress had not even gotten the checks off the table. This guy and his group just pressed the outgoing group out. The waitress was visibly upset and confused, and she didn't deserve that. She humbly cleared the table herself and reset everything as all these people were piling in to this unset table. She didn't skip a beat and continued to serve and perform. Here's a major nod to that young lady, who also is the same gal who got the manager for us. I hope she was taken care of, because that situation was just wrong and shouldn't have happened.

I arrived in Nashville on 8/8. I was staying at a hotel down the block from the Omni hotel and Barlines. After checking into my hotel I decided to go to Barlines and get some food to go for me and my girlfriend because we were starving after a day of traveling ... biggest mistake ever. I got the IMPOSSIBLE BURGER and it was so disgusting that despite being soooo hungry I stopped after eating half of it (note... best decision ever) and couldn't even eat the fries because they tasted like EVERYTHING else that had been in the fryer. Just over two hours later I started feeling sick AF... cold chills and sweating at the same time. I was violently ill for the next 24 hours and beyond unwell for the rest of my weekend in Nash... I was there for 72 hours and because of that first meal I was unwell the entire trip... angry, disappointed and frustrated are just a few words that come to mind. The fact that I got a food borne illness/food poisoning from an item that should not be capable of causing that to happen is an indication that they have unsafe and unsanitary kitchen practices. It had to be a result of cross contamination from raw chicken or other meat that came into contact with the garnishes or bread or impossible burger itself. Even worse is I work in the service industry and DID NOT want to write this negative review. On two separate occasions I reached out to the restaurant and hotel. Spoke to multiple people and kept being told the food and beverage director would reach out to me to address my concerns. I don't want to shame anyone... I tried to deal with this incident directly before taking it to the internet but they couldn't care less apparently. All I know is eating from this restaurant literally ruined my entire vacation so thank you for being a disgusting restaurant that doesn't care enough to call back a customer who got sick eating food from your establishment... take my advice and avoid this place at ALL costs

Good Food and Service, Shaved Brussels Sprout Salad was great. Live Music and a lot of Convention attendees. Great place to network with convention attendees.

Cute place about 2 blocks from Broadway. Stopped in for lunch on the way to the airport. The restaurant had indoor seating that opened up to outdoor patio seating. Food was good. We ordered a pretzel, chicken sandwich & BLT sandwich which were all served hot & fast. We had a few drinks as well. Our server was pleasant. Would recommend.

Big bar, huge actually. High ceiling and LOUD!!!!! There was a young lady singing and we moved over to listen but not sitting directly in front of the speaker we still could barely hear. Service was good, we had drinks and split an app that I can't recall, rest assured if it was bad I would be able to recall it. We went back for drinks later so that is a plus.

I was struggling between a 3 and 4 star review on this one. We stopped in on a whim just rolling into town an hour or two prior. It was a Sunday night, so packed during the game and then it cleared out quick. The waiter was friendly but a bit slow to check on us when we needed something. The food was pretty decent. Burger was pretty good. Hits the spot. A good pub burger but not a home run. My lil lady's BLT was a bit lackluster. Flavor wasn't fully there and the orange marmalade on it tasted a bit strange. Price is pretty high compared to the quality of the food. $20 for their cheapest burger, almost the same for a BLT. A fountain sprite is $5. I know inflation is hitting us all hard, but it's a bit unreasonable for what you get.Inside is a sports bar vibe that it seems gets used as a small music venue from time to time. There was no music this time but there's a pretty good size stage with a drum kit in house.I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and go with 4 stars. Maybe they were having an off night.

Live music was great. Fun crowd. We were watching the NHL game and it was on the large screen until they decided to switch most screens to the Nashville Predators. We had a night cap to wind down and it was great. Service is a little slow but it was fine.

Walked in on a busy Sunday around 5pm. They ask you to seat yourself so we found an open table by the bar. Service was pretty good considering it was busy. We got the pretzel which I thought was so good, very soft and salty and the cheese dip was all gone by the time we were done. I got a cocktail called the Tennessee Two Step, which I liked but I'm a sugar on the rim kind of gal and thought it could've used some. Overall a solid place to stop by for some comfort food.

Hung out here for a couple of hours before check in. Great bar with generous servers. Our server was welcoming us out of towners and giving great suggestions about Nashville. The drinks were great too, and the Tater Tot Nachos were incredible. It fed all four of us enough for lunch.
