Quite excellent. I've had good, but not great experiences with the $$$+ restaurant bracket for a while and this was a nice surprise. Was here on a Friday night celebrating a special occasion and then for lunch the following day. The likes:-Service was very knowledgeable and attentive, as expected-Great ambiance -Went a little crazy on the bread basket, but the focaccia is excellent. -The bone-in braised beef short rib was fantastic. -Lunch menu is more $$The dislikes:-Not a fault of the restaurant, but don't try to come here without reservations. -Otherwise nothing really to dislike!

Our party of eight (!!) enjoyed fantastic food and exquisite service here. It was Mother's Day brunch, the restaurant and patio were full, and the servers were so kind and accommodating. Everything was perfect, right down to the vanilla latte my niece ordered. I am so impressed!

This is a fancy upscale restaurant situated near the winery and a bunch of chateau places for private events and weddings. I was here in Woodinville for business travel and my husband picked this place to try. We ordered bread basket, marinated squid and beets salad for appetizer. The bread was fantastic with different flavors. The squid was good but the hummus at the bottom was a bit too salty. Salad was refreshing and above average. We ordered two main courses and were very pleased with the flavor balance. The salmon has a layer of crispy skin and the asparagus that came with it was so juicy and flavorful. The duck is tender and the farro (?) at the bottom has a subtle, complex and savory flavor, which I highly recommend! There is a small hiking trail behind the compound of the restaurant and we took a short walk after dinner. You can even see Mt Rainer across the street through the lavender farm!

The setting is beautiful fine dining. Great for dating or special occasion. We went for lunch so there was not many selection. We had lamb Reuben and seared pork rillette sandwich. The lamb meat in the Lamb Reuben is salty. Much saltier than the pork in the seared pork rillette. The pork in seared pork is made of ground pork. The taste is okay. Saltiness is normal. When asked how was the food, I told him the lamb was salty. Was told that sorry the food was not to my likeness. ^_^

Really enjoyed the good and service. We arrived early and decided to have a drink at the bar, curated By Isaiah Ostonal. He was passionate about the drinks he created. It was amazing to hear how involved each ingredients takes to make the cocktail. Both our cocktails were delicious! A great way to start the evening! Our meal was delicious too. We started off with foie gras and gnocchi. Both very tasty and very rich. We decided to share the 16oz boneless wagyu steak. This was amazing! Melt in your mouth amazing! We ended up not having dessert because we were so full from all the delicious comfort food. A great place to dine especially visiting Woodinville.

Went here during the Seattle restaurant week promo. For how hyped up this place was the food was the most disappointing. I'm fully aware that going during SRW does not showcase the restaurants full capabilities but for what they are charging and what was presented it was highly disappointing. The positives: our server was great, attentive without being overbearing. he was friendly, informative, and fantastic.Ambience: we got here a little before the lunchtime rush. Nothing fancy, upscale, a little dark and moody, but glad to have a lot of natural light coming in through the windows.Food: like I mentioned above, it was subpar, nothing special. I think what's truly disappointing. Is Seattle restaurant week is a time to showcase what your restaurant has to offer and give people a taste of cuisine a broader set of folks. The offerings were very basic, executed well, but nothing above or beyond what I would expect of a restaurant of this caliber.I think barking frog is a result of a lack of offerings in the Woodenville area. There's not a lot of competition, there's not a lot of upscale dining that really challenges the quality. It's a safe option IMO. Honestly, I would much rather drive an hour into downtown Seattle and get a meal for the same price that's times better than I experienced.

This place is DELICIOUS for breakfast. I come here yearly with a friend as a tradition around the holidays. Our server this time was so wonderful and she didn't steer us astray by recommending both cream cheeses with the beignets this time. This is a nicer restaurant but it's cozy and in a beautiful location in Woodinville. I always get the beignets and they're light, perfectly cooked, and so delightful to pair with the huckleberry cream cheese (my personal fave). For my mains, I had the Monte cristo sandwich, sub potato's with fruit. It had the perfect amount of toppings and was so fresh.Love it here and I'll be back for sure!

I hear the breakfast here is wonderful.Made a reservation here because it was my Mom's birthday and I couldn't think of a nicer restaurant near her retirement home in Bothell. The food at dinner was edible and had some small standouts. The scallops looked plump and were cooked nicely. The presentation of most dishes was horrible, Won't exactly complain about what the braised meat and steak dishes looked like. I asked the guys that ordered them hoe they were and was told "fine" and "acceptable". The wilted salad actually tasted great- very interesting flavors together, but when it was put down in front of me it looked like it was run under water and slapped on a plate from Denny's. The way the gnocchi was cooked was very tasty. It didn't look appetizing on the metallic terracotta colored plate it came on. We initially had a larger crowd and was booked for the larger group table and was told we'd have a smaller, large group menu. I wasn't happy about this so when our party shrunk, I was pleased to adjust the reservation and did so easily with an email request. Now that we sampled many dishes off the typical menu, I'd say the only dish I'm glad to have tried is that wilted salad. The toasted quinoa on it was a little distracting because it was gritty like a mouth full of unflavored sand but I appreciate the effort to have a texture element. After going to the restaurant seeing the large group table I'm glad we didn't sit there- it's a cool table because there's a fireplace in the center but it wouldn't be good for group conversation, you could only talk to the people to the sides of you, not across. Our service was awkward and some of the employees were dressed as if they worked at a level of establishment several steps below what they're aiming for.We had a good laugh at the end because it was my Mom's birthday so she got some fruity chocolate pieces on a plate. There was an "edible" happy birthday sign and my niece wondered if it was edible and what it was made out of. Typically these things are chocolate, or some type of sugar art so we told her "yes" she/we tasted it and it tasted SO OLD and like the inside of a junk drawer. We still think it was originally made of mostly edible ingredients but made so long ago and not kept well. It was the "icing on the cake" to a night that was pretty strange. We left laughing, so it was a nice night. After the fact my sister who lives in the area told me nobody goes here for dinner, just breakfast. Now I know.

I've wanted to dine at the Barking Frog since dining at the Herbfarm. The name, the ambiance, being in wine country - everything about it beckoned me to come. I only ever hesitated because it is not anywhere near where I live and with no reservations for brunch I didn't want to drive to find no availability. To mitigate this risk my partner and I decided to go early, which worked in our favor. We arrived at 10 AM and by 11 AM there was a good amount of people there! I can certainly see why because they have a great brunch. I opted for the Eggs Benedict with lox and it was perfect! The hollandaise sauce was tasty without being overwhelming. The muffin was not too thick. There was plenty of salmon and it shined! The eggs were cooked perfectly. Upon poking them the yolk ran out. It was great! The service was the professional polite type. No small talk, no idle chatter. They were exceptionally efficient. I'd come again!

Just had a fabulous breakfast Father's Day. Food was amazing! We've been there before for lunch and dinner, but never for breakfast. We ordered the eggs benedict, breakfast scramble and our 9-year-old son ordered 2 kids' meals (Mac & Cheese and Pancakes), everything was so delicious! We definitely recommend the breakfast scramble! Our server, Jack provided superb service! He was so friendly, always smiling and checked on us several times. He kept apologizing for the long wait (due to Father's day crowd). When we mentioned to him how great the coffee was, he agreed, and he showed us the package - so nice! When we took photos of each other at the table, and Giovanna took notice, she offered to take one of the family....she was awesome! Both Jack & Giovanna provided us excellent service. With great service and fabulous food, we will definitely return. We absolutely loved their breakfast!
