Yesterday while visiting Taste of Persia, I wandered over to check out Baraka Bakery & Grocery. Walking inside I was greeted by two employees who were busy unpacking boxes and stocking shelves. Hubs and I walked around the store looking at all the different items. I picked up feta cheese, fresh pita bread and package with two pitas that had a coating of zaatar. I was looking for what my friend in California called Lebanese pizza but didn't see any. This store has fresh halal meats and most everything needed to prepare foods. I didn't see fresh vegetables. When we came home, I opened the two pack of zaatar coated pitas, warmed them up and served them with fresh feta and my own homemade Shirazi salad and the pitas were fire! I will buy them again!!! Delicious!!!

Very wide selection of Eastern European foods, always stocked and clean. Employees are always welcoming and polite. I heard they have great homemade cevapi, I'm excited to try them. Also everyday fresh pita bread nice and warm. Would recommend this location to everyone! Love that place!

This a small grocery store with a large variety of Greek grocery items and wonderful sheep/goat cheeses. We visit this market every time we are in Nashville.

Why do I not come here more often?! And, if there one reason you need to come here for, it has to be for the vast offering of turkish products at some of the best prices I have seen. The store was so very clean and really well organized and offered many different sizes of products. This matters because there are so many things I don't buy just because the quantities are so large. I finally found a small bag of rice flour! Arabic cheeses- Do yourself a favor and buy, labneh, halloumi, kashkaval, or akawi or fresh feta! They have a variety of flavored labneh too.Secondly, they offer fresh arabic bread; plain, with cheese, or meat or zaatar. These make perfect lunch or snacks. Then they not only have packaged baklawa, and maamoul but also these sesame halwa cookies which I have not seen in other stores. They also have fresh trays of baklawa and luqaimat. Yea it is a great Middle-Eastern/European grocery store. Period.

S Nashville and needed lunch. Yelp'd options and saw this spot. 1) AMAZING falafel and humus. Amazing. Great falafel. Best humus I have ever had. 2) no one here! Noon. Alone. No one here! 3) a few bucks. 4) will return. 5) sweet old guy makes your food in between staffing the store. Don't miss this place when nearby. It should be more widely known in our city.

Great little middle eastern grocery. I was craving some grape leaves (dolmas) but wanted to make them myself along with some other Greek and Persian dishes. This grocery market had everything I needed and was very friendly. I will definitely be back again.

I went in looking for a particular brand of grape leaves for Greek Easter next weekend and they had them!!! Everyone there was really helpful and they even looked to see if they had the pastitsio noodles we needed. They didn't, but did say there may be some in a shipment later this week, so we will see! But thank you to the two gentlemen who helped me today. One even walked me out to my car with my bag since I was using my crutches.

Seems to me the 3-star rating of this place is unfair, so I am giving them a little extra with the 5 stars.I am familiar with lots of the international markets around Nashville. Baraka is similar to most of these markets, with the obvious focus on more Mediterranean, Greek, and Middle Eastern items. They have stuff I've never seen in the other places.Baraka is of medium size - a pretty good selection of the entire grocery spectrum (frozen foods to produce). The staff was very friendly. We didn't feel unwelcome as sometimes is the case in world markets (like the neighboring Asian market). In fact, one of the workers gave us a sample of fresh made cheese and pita, because I had asked her about mastic (a spice, the reason I went).I actually thought the prices were very reasonable compared to other markets.I will definitely go back!
