Cool place - beautiful interior, great music and fabulous food and service. We sat at the bar and were served by Cengiz (rhymes with Gengis) who was attentive but not overbearing. I had to do the Old Fashioned which is my go-to and it was great with a very distinctive taste - when I asked about it, the secret apparently is in the simple syrup which is made by a local "mom & pop" and infused with "a bunch of ingredients" - definitely anise forward. We split the chopped salad - so tasty and could have been my meal. We ordered 2 of their pan/deep dish pizzas which was overkill as they are plenty for 2+ people, but my friend and I have different tastes. I ordered the Salotto and my friend ordered the pepperoni. The Salotto was really good - white sauce, onion and thinly sliced potato; but the pepperoni was exceptional with cupped pepperoni, whipped ricotta and a hot honey drizzle. We capped it off with a pistachio affrogatto which was delicious but at that point I was too full to enjoy it, but I'll probably be back next week to do it all again.

After living in the city for 10+ years, you wonder how food in the suburbs will hold up. Bar Salotto holds its own and then some. My wife and I came here this past weekend for the first time. We had the meatballs, garlic puffs, chopped salad and a hand-stretched pie. Everything was fresh and delicious. Can't wait to go back.

Okay WOW! Bar Salotto sure knows how to make a group of gals feel welcome and special. This modern chic Italian establishment offers west loop vibes without the hassle of looking for parking and paying for it. Bar Salotto does not take reservations however they do have a waitlist directly on their website. As far as the interior it is sophisticated yet casual at the same time. Dress up or dress down, you will feel at home here whatever attire you choose and not be judged for it. I was here with 1 of my gfs and our server for the evening was Kyleen (spelling?). He was the sweetest person and super friendly. He was also the perfect amount of attentive and didn't hover. I would request him every single time. At 1 point I wanted to invite him to sit with us but reframed, lol. His energy and vibe was just so welcome and caring that I truly think he's the real MVP of the hospitality industry. At one point, Phil, a GM came over to check in and see how everything was doing. I appreciated it and that shows he cares for the restaurant he's at. Once my friend and were leaving a gentleman at the bar also asked us how everything went. I'm going to assume he was the owner which I also appreciated the interaction. If he wasn't the owner then fine, lol. If that was a customer then it shows people keep coming back and I 10000% understand why. For drinks my friend and I did a round of cocktails that were delicious and well balanced. I tried the basil gimlet and she had the pomegranate mule. A little on the pricier side, that would be my only 'con.'For food we had the Tuscan kale salad, broccolini pesto, pepperoni pizza and tiramisu. It's hard for me to pick which course was my favorite since I really enjoyed them all. My friend said her favorite was the pizza. She said all the ingredients went well together and she liked the pan crust and having the option to have it that way. I would order all of these items again and again they were delicious. Our experience here was great - everything was timed out well and I look forward to coming back to try other items on their menu.

Always excited for new places to try in Arlington Heights! The ambiance absolutely fits the bill at Bar Salotto. They don't take reservations but it wasn't full on a Thursday evening. Really wanted to love the drinks and food but I was left disappointed. I ordered a pomegranate mule which was the best part of the meal in my opinion. As an appetizer we had whipped ricotta that was served on artsinal bread, with thyme, fruit and pistachios. The ricotta was unfortunately flavorless. I couldn't taste the thyme but overall I feel like there was significant potential in it that was missed. I wouldn't order it again. For the entree, my girl friend and I shared black truffle cream pasta. This was also bleak in terms of what you would think you will be served and the price. There was shaved truffle but the sauce was lacking. Our waiter I guess forgot to put in our order for the appetizer which is fine it happens but then he came back 15-20 minutes later to ask what we had ordered before meaning it was now even later than before that we didn't have an appetizer to munch on. My friend and I were having a tough conversation and the owner must have noticed a few tears were shed. It was very kind of him to bring us gelato on the house. Overall, I would be back for drinks. Over the weekend they offer pitcher cocktails that seem interesting. I enjoyed the modern space. On a Thursday they closed at 10 which was reasonable but hope they are open later Friday - Sunday as it had potential.

Wanted to try a new restaurant in the area and decided to Yelp it and came across Bar Salotto. The restaurant was bright, modern & sleek. Once we were seated it took about 15-20 minutes to come by for drinks and water. Once our server came, we ordered drinks but he kept getting things mixed up at the table which is fine as long as the right drinks came to the table but he kept moving it around after we moved it to the right person, which at one point got a little tedious. To start we got the whipped ricotta which needed some honey or additional balsamic/fig on it. It was lacking a bit of flavor. The Caesar salad was decent, the pieces of romaine were pretty big so you do need a knife and fork to eat it. And the garlic rolls were puffed up pizza dough with garlic on the outside. It was nice and warm. We also ordered the classic bolognese, the fig and pig pan pizza and the solotto that our server said was what they we well known for. The classic bolognese was not what we expected at all, while the pasta was a great texture it lacked in seasoning and flavor, maybe needed a tad more garlic, and oregano? Now on to the fig and pig pan pizza was actually my favorite. The crust was delicious but the toppings were hit and miss on some pieces where the fig spread didn't fully hit. So the prosciutto made it a bit salty. The solotto was a bit different, the potatos on top were kinda like chips, but the reason why I didn't enjoy it is because I thought it was a bit too salty. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience the food was okay, the servers were friendly.

I was so excited to try this new restaurant in Arlington Heights, but it disappointed me.The restaurant is beautifully decorated, modern, and very clean! The waiter was also super friendly, attentive, and helpful! But I give this place 3 stars because the food wasn't excellent. I tried the Florentine pizza, which is just ok, it could be better. The flavor was good, but my pizza was soggy. The spicy vodka pasta wasn't spicy and lacked flavor. Not to mention, my coke was flat! Overall, service and ambience are 5/5, but food is 2.5-3/5 stars.

arrived on a saturday around noon and there was no wait. the staff was very friendly from the moment we walked in.we started with the tuscan kale salad, which was sooo good. the goat cheese was my favorite part - because of the texture/creaminess. we also split a pepperoni pizza - different from your usual pepperoni pizza because of the whipped ricotta and hot honey. the crust was delicious too. next time i'll probably ask for a side of hot honey to dip it in.lastly we got the tiramisu - very tasty! i loved the coffee-flavored liquid sitting at the bottom. overall, a great first experience. my husband and i finished all the food. just a bit overpriced.

The pizza was so good but the service was amazing. Dennis was so kind and knowledgeable at directing us to some really great dishes and was quick with anything my table needed. Will definitely be coming back.

The food was amazing and the service was even better! The food came out so quickly and the wait staff was very attentive. The inside has a very nice, modern feel and they have an outside patio with good music playing. I've seen this location be multiple different hot dog joints and I'm pleasantly surprised to see what Bar Salotto has done with the place!
